Review from Bunny S.

As a Lighthouse Point native, I am kicking myself for not having known about Le Bistro sooner. I have crazy food expectations, and there are almost no local restaurants that hold up to my standards.
How did this revelation of an amazing French-European eatery come about? A family argument over Christmas dinner this year. After searching the internet for several hours, we were all able to agree on Le Bistro based on the location and reputation. I asked my parents "What is this place?" to which they replied "It's right down the street! You've seen it a million times!" They themselves had never ventured into there. My mother is not big on French cuisine in general, so I was shocked but happy that they agreed to try it out.
Christmas dinner was incredible! Four courses for $35! You can't beat that with a stick!
The beef wellington melted in my mouth. The gravlax was perfect. The salad, though simple, was so well balanced that I actually ate a salad that wasn't prepared at home for the first time in many years. The limoncello parfait was so delightful that we had to order a second one so I could quit fighting everyone's fork for competition on my plate. The cheese sampler was simply orgasmic.
My favorite part about our dining experience was the feeling of perfect gastronomical satisfaction when we left. I was pleasantly full, but not sickeningly stuffed. This is how real, excellent French food should be. This is why they say 'French people don't get fat'. You have the perfect amounts of rich, flavorful food without too much to gorge yourself. Imagine - a Christmas dinner that didn't leave everyone feeling like they needed a winter nap and a treadmill afterward.
My only disappointment is that I will be gone for New Years and I won't be able to spend it there. I see they have potato gnocchi on the special menu, which is one of my favorite dishes in the world and yet I will be missing it. I think they are serving it just to torture me :) -

Quick business trip so I thought I would hit a place I saw on tv.

Service & decor were good -- but there's something about the food that doesn't taste fresh. Also, some ingredients seem a little sub-par -- Hershey's chocolate syrup on my dessert crepes? Come on.

We went to Les Bistro for a birthday celebration . Everyone loved their food and we ordered from their 4 course special menu for $35. The escargot was delicious. The salad was a bowl of mixed greens and home made dressing. A little to simple possibly. Main course I had was a duck breast over a bed of fried potato and beans with a blue berry wine sauce. Very Tasty. For dessert I had their apple tart, pastry is the best. I also tasted the creme brulee.
Expect bill of $50/person. The portions are more traditional then today,s glutinous ones but I was fully satisfied -

Good food. 5 stars
Price 2 stars
Atmosphere / decor / ambiance 0 stars
It's a little too quiet in here. Music should be played for a better atmosphere.
Coming again ? Probably not.
Recommend ? Yes but with warning on price and atmosphere.
Lamb , medallions , mussels , mushrooms. Excellent! -

Deerfield Beacher's,
I highly recommend this place. The menu is almost entirely locally harvested produce and meat and much of it is organic as well. The portions are not over-the-top huge, which allows diners to savor a three-course meal and not walk out waddling to and fro like at a lot of other places in central Florida.
I was thoroughly impressed by the Cream of Mushroom Soup, one of the best I've ever had. Chef's Beef Tenderloin was exceptional as well and you could cut it with a dull spoon it was so tender.
Please support this local business which has been serving the community for over twenty years- you won't be sorry! The menu prices and wine prices are excellent as well. -

I have to give an update, as there have been some consistency issues here.
The escargot never was warm enough, and the pesto sauce was lacking flavor. The mahi fish was bland. And a small salad was uninspired. What happened here?1 Previous Review: Show all »

Highly recomend this place! I've been looking for another french restaurant other than Sage in FTL. They have a $50 / head prefix menu that is amazing- it includes 4 courses and a bottle of delicous wine! If you are not interested in the wine you only pay $35!
Le Bistro uses the freshest ingrediants from the most trusted sources. We started with the Bee pollen goat cheese.
Their crisp salads are made with organic greens, vegetables, and house-made ceasar parm dressing!
The Filet of Chilean Sea Bass was very tasty along with the Rack of Lamb.
The Chef / Owner was very nice, along with the personable server.
We will be coming back! -

We've driven past this restaurant a few times and then realized that it won at the Garlic Festival-again! So when our anniversary came by we had to try it. I did a little research and was very impressed with their website! It includes all kinds of information, full menu and wine list. Their menu is pleasantly seasonal to highlight the freshest ingredients.
We had started with the "Bee pollen goat cheese" appetizer and it was such a refreshing opener with it's fresh endives and lavender, d-lish! We followed up with "Chicken `n dumplings" and the day's special of "Beef Bourguignon" which were both impressive. And for desert I couldn't resist having a freshly torched creme brule. I've traveled to France many times and can honestly say the flavors were deliciously authentic and very reasonably priced.
The thing I was most impressed with was the gluten free menu options. As a Celiac this is huge for me and is why I researched the restaurant before we even thought of going. French cuisine is always a concern for Celiacs because of it's traditionally flour based recipes. As it turns out, the Chef-owner's wife is also Gluten Free! GF items are clearly marked on the menus and the staff was fully knowledgeable.
Needless to say we'll be back again! -

Eff'n awesome. Chef & his wife were super cool and the food was just great. Nothing like on Kitchen Nightmares. Highly recommend this place. Had the steak decadence, which was a fierce filet with some fois gras on top. Soooo eff'n good. Wife had the dolphin (I'll never call it the marketing term of mahi). It was cooked perfectly and delicious too.
Great night out. -

Server was really rude when 3 of my party of 12 wanted to order from the specials menu and the food was forgettable. I really expected more considering we spent well over $60 a person.

I have been eating here for several years. The food is great, the chef is knowledgeable and there is always something new and great to get. Don't let the location in a strip mall fool you. It merely reduces the menu price by a few dollars. The food is among the best in Broward.

Great, great food. Service ok, not so good. The waiter stared at us with a nasty face when we ordered some sodas. Best brownie ever. The goat cheese definetly a must. 2 app, 2 entrees and one dessert $100.

My partner and I happened to have a Christmas Eve dinner here last night, based on their beautiful website. We were expecting to experience delicious French food in an elegant atmosphere. Well, scratch that. This is a small restaurant out of a strip mall, which has awful decorations. The food was decent, but the service was questionable. We were hearing the arguments between our server and the chef, as he walked into the vestibule in front of the kitchen, loudly reiterating our orders. The chef would loudly admonish him for serving the wrong wine, etc.. The whole place was decorated with an amateurish bad taste. Don't let the name and the elegant website fool you like they did us.

Super tacky, hole-in-the-wall bistro with a mediocre wait staff - but I'm still giving it 5 stars because the food is so incredibly fantastic and the owners make such an effort to please their patrons! I've been a regular at Le Bistro for the past eight years now. It's the only restaurant within a 10 mile radius of my office worth a recommendation.

White Plains, NY
I chose this restaurant at least partially because of its exposure on a nationally-televised show. I'll also admit that my pallette may be wrong for this kind of place - I'm more a steak-and-potatoes kind of guy.
That being said, the ambiance of the restaurant - obviously a reflection of the attitudes of the co-owners, a lovely married couple - was warm and friendly. The wait staff was courteous and attentive, and modifications were made to my dinner order in order to accommodate both my particular tastes and my diabetic condition. The steak was flavorful and tender, perfectly cooked, the potato frites crisp and nicely-seasoned, and I was persuaded to try (and enjoy) French onion soup for the first time in my life. As it was a slow night, the owners were very chatty, even when asked about their television experience which in some instances had been difficult.
Le Bistro will definitely be a regular Florida from this point forward.
