We vacation for one week in Twain Harte every year and this was the first time we stayed at the Lazy Z. We are hooked!!!! We love it. The thing that I was most impressed with was the cleanliness of not only the cabin we stayed in, but the grounds. The pool area was clean and well kept. We absolutely loved it.

In A Nutshell:
*Be prepared if you come to Lazy Z and it's snowing! If so, make sure you have snow chains, hopefully you'll drive an SUV. I got lost and the route to the Lazy Z, my car got stuck several times and I broke my snow chains. I ended up spending the first night in my car.
*Beyond that incident, I I stayed in one of the two room cabins. It was very well taken care of, warm, clean and had a cool fireplace.
*The prices are reasonable and vary between $180 to $280.
*I plan on coming here during the summer.
Overall, the roads weren't cared for as fast as I thought they should have. The locals didn't seem very friendly either. Make sure you dont' get ripped off by the "snow chain installers". They will try to charge you $30 for a 5 minute job, but you can negotiate with them. -

I booked the resort for a scrapbooking retreat. They were very easy to work with and all the people that came loved the setting. They definately helped to make the event a success.
They have upgraded their wifi and it is now accessible from the Clubhouse. I can't wait to go back and relax with my family (by the pool with my laptop of course)!1 Previous Review: Show all »

We've been to Lazy Z twice this year. Once over Fourth of July, and the once just recently in September.
We LOVE Lazy-Z. Our first trip we stayed in a 4 person cottage, (We only had 3 people, but we went with firends and sometimes the kids like to spend the night in other cabins). It was plenty big enough for our family of 3, and it included a microwave and a fridge!
The next time we stayed in Cabin 1B, it was just my daughter and I, but I decided to splurge a bit and stay right next door to where my friends were staying. It was right up by the pool/hot tub and it was WONDERFUL. I HIGHLY recommend staying in the cabins near the pool for Summertime. Especially if you have kids.
An extra surprise was a kids movie for all the kids out on the lawn near the pool. The kids loved it, and everyone had a GREAT time.
We are going again in January. CAN'T WAIT!!!! -

Just returned from an amazing weekend at the Lazy Z Resort-- we were there for a family reunion and could not have had a better time!! The place is a treasure in the woods... clean, comfortable cottages, fun-filled activities, a serenely beautiful pool area for relaxing, great food and beautiful woods with walking trails... what more could you ask for??!! All in all a wonderful weekend getaway. I highly recommend you check out the Lazy Z for a rejuvenating weekend away!

I can't believe I'm the first one to hit this. This place is amazing. I came to my friends wedding here and it was one of the top three weddings of my life. Now you may be asking "How many fucking weddings has this dork gone to?" Not that many. Honestly, I'd say five or six. But that doesn't change the fact that I know a good time when it kicks me in the ass and this place did that for sure. Twain Harte is beautiful and so is this resort. I can't wait to go back.

We had the best time at our family reunion at the Lazy Z! Our favorite part was the Ole Fashioned Western Cookout, at Zeke's. Amazing food, fun for the kids, and a perfect bonfire for roasting marshmallows. Clean, lovely rooms. Excellent staff! We can't wait to go back with our friends.

We love the Lazy Z! We go every summer just to hang in their "pool" and watch movies outside. Mr Z, the owner is really nice, even brought me a beer. Its clean, a little funky & old, but very quiet, rustic and safe. Good prices. We cant wait to go back! Everyone is so helpful & friendly! My kid loves seeing the deer all around and looking for the "ghost". We'll be back soon!!

A group of us stayed in the sugar pine cabin last month and had a blast. The cabin was fully equiped and we were able to BBQ dinner very easily. The pool area and the lodge/rec room were awesome and we played foosball, pool, ping pong and corn hole. I would reccomend the resort to everyone as the costumer service was great and they even gave us a free bottle of wine!!!
