Came here for end-of-semester-initiation dinner with my honors society and seriously it's the thing I look forward to the whole year...

We got the pre-fixe menu for our group of about 60, and I think it goes for about $50. Parking is $6 valet or I think $4.50 in the garage right next door, and when you walk in there's a waiting area with delicious freshly-cooked potato chips and meatballs to tease your palate. Hint: take some of the meatballs with you and once you get the sourdough bread served, eat it with the bread and it's like a mini marinara sub...yum.

Sourdough bread with butter is delicious - spongy bread, with a crispy crust. Then the first course was Lawry's spinning bowl salad, which I wasn't too big a fan of because I don't really like beets and the dressing tasted very egg-y. Allowed me more room for the main course anyway.

Main course!! They came into the room with a huge carving cart, and I ordered my prime rib medium rare with creamed corn. It came on the plate au jus (perfectly juicy and cooked), with a side of mashed potatoes, creamed corn and yorkshire pudding. Everything is AMAZING. Portions are pretty big to fill you up, and you get a taste of everything with the meat, creamed corn and pudding. Creamed spinach and mashed potatoes are whatever so don't waste stomach space on them. Mmm delicious meal, one of the best I've had even though I'm more a filet mignon person than prime rib.

Dessert was flourless chocolate cake and coffee, nothing too memorable there but it was a nice finish to dinner. Service is great - they were very attentive with our drinks and any concerns we had, so all in all I had a fabulous night with friends over food and I can't wait to go back!

Well I go to Lawry's at least twice a year for special occasions with the family....either for my birthday or my Mom's.  We trade off between here and Ruth's Chris.
This year we came here again for Mom's birthday.  We're never disappointed in the excellent service and food quality.  We were surprised that it wasn't busy the Sunday evening after Thanksgiving.  We were prepared for the usual Holiday crowd at Lawry's.  But the place was empty for Lawry's.  When we asked our very nice friendly waitress, she mentioned that on a Sunday night they usually book about 800 reservations, but this evening they had less than 500.  Either people were still out of town from Thanksgiving, or the economy has had an impact on Lawry's business.
I almost forgot to mention that tonight was the first we've seen a male waiter at Lawry's.  It's been a Lawry's tradition that the wait staff are always women and the carvers has also been men.  Well tonight we saw the first male waiter at the restaurant after 40 years of coming to Lawry's.  The carvers are still men.  I've yet to see a woman carver.
The dinner was great as always and so was the service.  Mom had her complimentary Birthday English trifle for dessert.  yum!  And my sister bought 3 jars of CC Brown's hot fudge sauce and 3 bottles of Lawry's salad dressing for gifts.
We had yet another fine dining experience at Lawry's, as we've had in the several years my family has been coming here since I was a little kid.  And that's been a long time.  No comment please!
For those who love Lawry's like our family, my Mom is a member of the Lawry's Dining Club.  You get points for every dollar you purchase.  And after so many points you get Lawry's bucks for future dining visits.  And if you go there for early dinner seating, you earn double points.  I believe it's free to join the Lawry's Dining Club.  Ask your waitress on your next visit.

I saw the host turned away guests that didn't have...

this place was so fucking busy... people were walking here and there, standing, waiting... what the fuck??
They should have live nude or lap dance!!

What can I say about Lawry's that hasn't already been said!  The place is awesome (except for the wait)!
I came here w/ family for our Thanksgiving dinner.  This is the very first time in my life that I went out to a restaurant for Turkey Day and not having a home cooked turkey w/ all the trimmings! But I digress....
So my future bro in-law told us to get there early and put our name on "the list" because there is usually a 2-3hr wait....and guess what..we waited exactly 3 hrs but I was told it was worth the wait...besides..we spent those wonderful 3 hours at ......THE BAR!
So after the 3 hr wait...we were shown to our table and introduced to waitresses dressed as PILGRIMS...yes, PILGRIMS!
They were very attentive...from the first drink order to the bill!
So..Lawry's starts off with some warm sourdough bread with sliced pieces of butter....and then we had something called the Spinning Salad.....(i took video! )...it was a green salad with some type of creamy thousand island tasting dressing...very good!
Lastly (before dessert)...the chefs come around to every table with a big giant iron rolling bbq that is worth more than a cadillac!
The waitress asks what type of prime rib cut we each would like..how we like it prepared plus 2 sides (1 being mashed potatoes)...
I got the LAWRY'S cut done medium ...and OMG...from the first bite to me chewing on the bone marrow....was down right delicious.  The prime rib melted in my mouth and was perfectly paired with their SPICY!!! (Ay Caramba!) horseradish!!  I also added a Lobster Tail which was awesome!
It was a perfect meal!!!
Best Prime Rib Dinner I've had in a restaurant...hands down!!!

Lawry's has been my favorite restaurant since I was 8 years young! I would go at least once a year for special occasions. However, ever since I turned 18 I haven't had the chance to go since I moved to San Diego for college.

I decided to do my birthday dinner this year at Lawry's, hoping things hadn't changed since a few years ago. I've been so addicted to Yelp lately so I decided to check out recent reviews of the restaurant.

Everyone was right. The creamed corn was finger lickin goood! Ever since I was young, Ive always ordered the creamer spinach & never the corn. They hook you up too, filling half the plate with corn :] I just found out recently that you can actually order half/half of sides which is good for indecisive people like me ;]

Ok, well I skipped right to the end. I tried to make reservations at 7PM but they said that there's no spots until 9PM so to just walk in. I saw on the reviews that even if you make a reservation, you wait an hour so we went around 6PM. We gave our name to the hostess & she was a complete b*tch! My voice is on the louder side and she kept saying "What? Huh?" instead of "Excuse me?" which pissed me off. We were then informed that the wait was an hour and a half so my friend got a little disappointed because it was his first time there.

I skipped on the meatballs and chips because I didn't want to get full since the wait was supposed to be that long. (Once I start eating, I can't stop hehe). My mom ate some and said it was pretty bomb. To me, however, it looked a bit old & Costco-like, but hey, I don't judge by looks...well..sometimes ;]

I decided to get a glass of Merlot at the bar which was pretty dead but hey, I needed a drink to make the time pass. The bartender recommended Lawry's Merlot. I never drink house wines but it was pretty good & they hooked me up with another glass.

To my surprise, when I was half way done with my wine, they called my name! it had only been 15 minutes & I had a walk-in! I was shocked because Ive read about people who have waited 2-3 hours. So I go to the hostess, the same "lady" as before, & she kept asking me, "Sooo, your whole party's not here?" I said YES because she has a hearing problem or something but she ignored me & told another hostess "We can't seat them because their party is missing people." Dude, we had 4 people in our "party"! Anyway, I overlooked that because I spoke with another hostess & she apologized & seated us right away.

Another disappointment was that our table was in this tiny room in the back that I didn't even know existed! All the other 10+ times Ive eaten there, we sat in the main room which actually looks like a classy restaurant. That small room looked like an old Olive Garden :(

I was bummed out until the food came. The salad was delicious! The croutons were fresh & I absolutely loved the dressing. My friend said it was Thousand Island but I didn't think it was that at all. Most people say they don't like it but Im so sick of typical Italian & Ranch that it tasted so refreshing. I didn't mind it being too much dressing either.

The sourdough bread was same as any other place. If you're a bread lover like me, don't eat too much of it because it got me kind of full :[

The food came in 15-20 minutes. We all ordered the Lawry's cut because we couldn't go wrong with that. We also got the side of creamed corn of course, asparagus, and the sauteed mushrooms because we love mushrooms with steak! The asparagus was undercooked & the Holandaise sauce tasted like mayo so I barely touched it & ended up not taking it home. You already know what's up with the creamed corn :] The sauteed mushrooms were fine, same as most restaurants.

The prime rib was sooo awesome! I got mine a little bloody because that's how I like mine (don't hate! haha). It was pretty big. I didn't know that it came with a huge bone so I guess it wasn't as huge as I thought. Nonetheless, we all enjoyed it.

So to conclude my looooong review, the service wasn't that good, although my friends & I had a good laugh about their "uniforms." The prime rib is delicious, and the only side worth getting is the creamed corn. Scratch that, the corn is a MUST! Lawry's is pricey but worth every penny if you get the right stuff. So hope you guys enjoy because Id go back again soon :)

For the number of people that come here.. and the price of this place.. I really didn't think it was all of that.  My theory is that as something costs more, the food should taste exponentially better.

So.. the reservation we made was at 6 pm.. and we were still going to have to wait for an hour and a half.  What is the point of a reservation then?  We sat in their sitting room which did have chips and meatballs in case you are starving.  The bar is big too.

When we finally sat down.. the waitresses were in these Pilgrim outfits.  I nearly burst out laughing.  Casual.. yes.  So our table was literally 2 inches from the next table.

The salad.. drenched with dressing.. with only one choice since it's tossed for the entire table together.

We ordered the Diamond Cut prime rib.  I honestly have had better prime rib at Chicago Chophouse.  No au jus to dip the prime rib in.  We ordered all the sides.. I only liked the creamed corn.  The spinach just didn't taste as good as Morton's or Ruth Chris.  The mashed potatoes were okay.. but honestly, the gravy wasn't amazing.  You would think it would with all the delicious prime rib they cook!

Oh well.. you live and you learn.

OK this review is hard. I've been here twice, the food is wonderful but I am a MAJOR meat eater...but the price is incredibly expensive like 32 for the small cut. Then add sides, then alcohol then maybe dessert (although usually too full for that) you really can't come out of here under $70-80/pp

But it is one of my best friends favorite place. He comes here like once a month. The servers, Ms. Something-or-Other, love him. So...it can be an awesome splurge. The other cool thing about this place other than the nice decor is the free apps they have for you while you wait...mmm meatballs, they have other stuff but the only thing I ever get are the meatballs...

And the specialty cocktail I got last time was a acai prosecco - wonderful!

Prime Rib in a cart, like old school dim sum style! Except you get a big hunk meat.  The meat is yum, not much more to say. My grandpa likes his meat dead, super well done! And guess what, they did it! Service is great there.

Meat is charged by the weight, and prepare the way you like it. They usually rec rare to med rare.  I think their med rare is most peoples rare, so beware of that.

Their side dishes: we had our family, 8 peeps, so we had quite an array of their side dishes. None of them are exciting, but decent. Each side dish come family style, but their portions are not what you expect. We had to order double of most. The side dishes average about $7, so you're side dishes can ADD UP!

But if you're feeling like bloody well marbled beef this is the place!

Yes, of course - Lawry's.  Like Yelper Amanda K, I've been coming here since I was a wee sprig of a twig of a tad of a lad of a youth.  Starting when they were across the street and then after the move.  I haven't been since 2006 but the last time it was just as it's always been, and there's something very comforting about it.  It was jammed when we were there.  And I was delighted to find that Lawry's had purchased the recipe and everything else for C.C. Brown's hot fudge sundae.  I don't know if they still have it, but it was grand to have it that day.  The prime rib is tops, the cream spinach is tops, I don't do anything called Yorkshire Pudding, but I just love the whole Lawry's deal.

I still have yet to find a Prime Rib restaurant that makes better prime rib.

Here are a few close competitors:
Houston's (try their prime rib, it's damn good for almost half the price)
House of Prime Rib

I typically order the Diamond Jim Brady for a MAN'S size.... though I normally have to take home a decent portion still!  The spinning salad is oddly flavorful with very tasty (thousand island) dressing???  The creamed spinach is to die for, and the creamed corn is definitely no slouch.

Here's a secret: for one of the sides, you can split it and have a half order of spinach and half order of corn.  Trust me, it's worth it because they give you a little more than half for each scoop, thus giving you a total of maybe 110% of what you would have gotten with one full order of either.

The actual location itself makes you feel like you're in a mansion with very well dressed, classic maid outfits for the wait staff.

They have the perfect balance of being attentive to your needs while leaving you alone for your privacy.

Exquisite service, wonderful food, beautiful location, spectacular experience - 5 Stars

Growing up, I always thought of Lawry's as just the place where all those beefy college football players from the Rose Bowl stuff their faces silly with endless slabs of prime rib. I'm probably not the biggest fan of prime rib. If I had to choose, I'd much prefer a nicely seared ribeye steak. I had been to House of Prime Rib in SF and the Carvery at South Coast Plaza, but this was my first time here.

The potato chips and meatballs they serve as a complimentary "pre-appetizer" were a nice touch while waiting to get seated. Kind of an odd pairing, though. The chips would go great with a sandwich, and those meatballs just had me thinking of a big bowl of spaghetti. I admit, I probably ate a few too many, because it just took up precious real estate in my stomach for the star attraction.

Once we got seated, I was already salivating from smelling the food. My wife and I both ordered the Lawry cut, plus an extra couple of lobster tails. Before we knew it, out came the spinning salad bowl. We finished that off and waited for the stainless steel "blimp" cart to swing by with our prime rib. The wait seemed to take forever.

Several of the chefs were heavily tattooed, with big gold medallions dangling from their necks, tall chef's hat and coat, and a huge carving knife in one hand. All you need is a gory mask and some blood, and you would have one pretty cool Halloween costume.

Anyway, on to the prime rib. The first bite was the best one. Juicy, flavorful, and mouth watering. A little bit of the whipped horseradish cream helped accentuate the meat. Honestly though, it tasted similar to other prime ribs I've had. I'm no expert and haven't had enough prime rib in my lifetime, but if you had swapped a prime rib from the Bellagio buffet in Vegas, I would probably never know.

The lobster tails were pretty small, but nicely cooked and very tender. We didn't get any extra sides like the creamed spinach or corn, just the included mashed potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. It was more than enough food. Service was good, but the one complaint I had was the location of our table. We could hear our waiters hanging out and chatting behind us, so that was a bit of an annoyance. Other than that, it was a good birthday dinner.

My first experience with Lawry's Prime Rib was last July for my boyfriend's birthday. I must say... 3 hours after the meal, I was craving it again.

I ordered the Lawry's cut with the creamed spinach. Even for someone as tiny as me... I HOUSED that meal. There was a little meat around the bones, that I decided would be too little to take home. WORST DECISION.

Like I said... After the overly-stuffed feeling had passed... All I wanted was more. We raved about it for days after, regretted the decision to not take anything home, and contemplated when our next dinner at Lawry's would be.

If it wasn't for the price, no doubt I'd be there weekly.

Tender, juicy and flavorful prime rib. Such a classic & pure taste. Not overly spiced. Just enough flavor to enhance the meal. Ohhhhhh man... Now that I'm talking about it... It makes me sad not to be eating it right now. Sigh.

Oh Lawry's... How I love thee. I will see you again soon.

I know Lawry's doesn't need any more reviews, but, I just had to.  The world needs to know: Summit House in Fullerton, CA or Lawry's in Beverly Hills????  My answer:  They're both really good, but Summit House takes the grand prize.

Lawry's definitely has some goooood prime rib.  They also have REALLY good creamed corn, creamed spinach, and yorkshire pudding.  Mm mm mmm.  No doubt about it, this restaurant has some good food.

My only gripe is that it's SO FRICKEN CROWDED.  Yes, I know.  It's Lawry's, it's Beverly Hills, and it was a Saturday night when I went.  But, sitting a foot away from the next table in long booths is not my idea of a comfortable dining situation.

Another reason why Lawry's wasn't my favorite was because I felt like I was eating in a mess hall.  You know, those huge cafeteria-like rooms where you bring your trays of sludge to those benches and all eat at the same time.  OBVIOUSLY, the food was a lot better and the ambience much better, but I couldn't help but feel like I was at some conference, getting my food delivered by the moving meat table, with pre-made sides.  I dont know.  Maybe I'm just a little too OC.

But again, this place is really good.  Oh, and they have one of my favorite cabs by the glass: 2007 Avalon from Napa.  Score 1 for Lawry's.  But still, four stars.

Dining at Lawry's is a fantastic experience. Lawry's usually requires 7 days notice to make a reservation, as it is immensely crowded and popular. While you wait, if you walk in or come early, you will be treated to a buffet of chips and meatballs, which are just enough to tie you over to the delicious meal that is to come. Once seated, you order a type of "cut'', varying on the sizes of meat, and it includes two sides, the creamed corn is out of this world, bread pudding, and their spinning salad, which is delicious. Then a huge cart comes with meat and they serve you the prime rib and your two sides.
The ambiance is also very classy, with high domes, an elegant setting, spacious tables, high chairs, and waiter outfits. It feels like dining in an English manor.
I highly recommend Lawry's, as it is immensely tasty.

DineLA brought me here and chances are it'll bring me back. A group of 10 of us came to Lawry's for one of our friend's 21st birthday. Just like any other high-end Beverly Hills restaurant, they have valet which isn't that awfully much.

The ambiance was very classy with a high dome ceiling and all the waitresses are dressed up in old-school maid outfits and waiters and carvers in their appropriate attire. I felt like I was in some kind of former dinner party in Britain. With that said, let's move on to the food.

Most of my friends ordered medium-rare steak and was it bloody.... I'm not complaining because I love the taste of blood and literally dipped my amazing creamed corn and mashed potatoes in the blood as well. Somewhat vampiric you might say... I topped it off with a glass of cabernet. Some other friends ordered cocktails which came out pretty bad but I knew better.

Came here for my birthday dinner! We made reservations but yet still had to wait. While waiting, you can get some free appetizzers...chips and meatballs. There was a super annoying Asian guy in the waiting area, he was laughing really loud like The Joker. WTF? You're in a public place asshole. So we went to wait on the other side of the waiting area. Got seated about 15 minutes later, did I mention we had reservations. We get to our table and notice that its part of a larger table that was broken into 3 smaller tables. We were literally right next to total strangers. Uhhh WTF? I ordered some stupid iced tea to drink...it tastes like nothing. Should've got a soda! Our waitress was very attentive. She served us a stupid spinning salad. Pretty much regular salad but they feel the need to spin it around in a bowl before serving it to us. Gee thanks. The carver came around pretty quickly, got our prime rib and it was delicious! The only reason why this place got 4 stars instead of 3! Overall the restaurant was great! Once you're done with your meal, go give your valet ticket to the valet guy...SURPRISE!!! VALET SERVICE ISN'T FREE!! WTF??? I couldn't believe that shit.

This place is good but I still prefer Ruths Chris better.

If the Asian in me is true, then this should be my 200th review. I was leaving Lawry's for this special mark.

Lawry's has treated me well for over two decades now. Never has it ever disappointed me. From the meatballs in the waiting area all the way until the dessert. This place is a definite score. If you're a regular or going to be, I would suggest you sign up for the Lawry's card. There's an initial fee but it's worth it. They send you coupons and also if you show up around your birthday, they will mail you a specialized engraved seasoned salt or pepper to your home.

Lawry's, don't mind that I dine at other prime rib or steak houses. I'm still very loyal to you and will forever be. The whole prime rib carts and getting it carved right in front of you is your historic tradition (as well as the spinning bowl salad!). Nothing comes close to your cream corn. I can probably go on and on with all the food you serve here but then I would possibly bore readers.

One of your best investment was buying the C.C. brown hot fudge rights from that family to offer it at your restaurant. This by far was one of your greatest acquirements. I really advise anyone who eats at your place to order the CC brown hot fudge sunday for dessert. It just makes you speechless and brings a huge smile to your face.

I left out a lot of details because I don't want to write a novel and I want people to experience Lawry's on their own. All I can say is that Lawry serves up a mean prime rib dinner. Look for the monthly specials which are always well worth giving it a shot. You can also purchase their salad dressing, just ask your waitress.

Forever a loyal customer.

UNDERWHELMING

I have had better prime rib many other places.
Their side dishes were so BLAND I was adding salt and pepper constantly!

Not worth the money ... at all

OH LAWRYS....You are the only generous portioned, succulent, rich, mouth-watering  Prime Rib my allergic to meat stomach will suffer for! Why are you so amazing? If I could eat you alone I would, but your sides of creamed corn & creamed spinach are like icing to my cake-and baby, you never eat cake without icing. You are such a rare treat because of how expensive you cost, I always break the bank when my hubby and I have finished paying the bill. You leave me extremely satisfied and full for days which is why I only indulge you on special occasions. You've sucked me in but I do believe you're worth it.

What happened to this venerable LA dining institution. I been dining here since my childhood and have always enjoyed the house salad, prime rib and cream corn. The last few times that I've been here with my family the prime rib was cold and devoid of flavor. The salad was soggy and the cream of corn was colder than the ice tea that I had. What da f_ck?

If you don't like Lawry's, we're not friends. Granted it is a little pricey and isn't a weekly dining spot, but it's great for big family occasions.  My dad is a VIP member and accumulates points every time they dine there, so we often get dining credit on our next visit.

I usually get The Lawry Cut and sometimes look more forward to the salad that comes out with the spinning sauce than the actual cut, but let's not be silly here, that's probably been just once.  The baked potato is always a good addition and once you're there, why not get it loaded.

We've also been to the one in Las Vegas, but frequent the Beverly hills location at least twice a year.

Happy 1 Year Anniversary~!!!

Our Highlight:
1. Free Food
2. Mrs. Sargent

71 years of Excellent Service
That's what this place is known for.

But not a single business is perfect.
I'm a V.I.P member at the Lawry's (came here 4 times)
but my previous dining experience was not so V.I.P

I tried to forgive and forget
but whenever i received a newsletter from them, it brought me back the memory
So I e-mailed Lawry's about my previous experience

1. The manager himself gave me a call to apologize (+1 star)
2. A letter of apology with Invitation of Dinner for two (+1 star)
3. Manager himself took the reservation for us (+1 star)

My lovely wife and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary
here on Sunday and we kind of hesitated of going back
but we are so glad we did. and will come back again in the future.

Our server Mrs. Sargent, was very funny & friendly
She was so nice that when we had hard time deciding which wine to go with our meal.
She brought us three different wine samples (very generous amount, almost regular portion in regular wine glass.). (+1 Star)
check out how many wine glasses there are in the photo i've posted!

We got these things for free
1. Spinning Bowl Salad
2. The Lawry Cut Prime Rib (served in perfect medium-rare)
3. Yorkshire Pudding, Mashed Potato, and Creamed Corn
4. Two dessert entries (1 for the invitation letter, and 1 for our anniversary -photos att.)

We had about $160 worth of dinner for $45 (+1 Star)
(Champagne and Wines - $25 and tips - $20)

71 years of Excellent Service it is!!

(wow....it's raining out side...what the heck?)

Went here for my father-in-law's birthday. It was the best prime rib I've ever had! I ordered the California cut- it was soft and perfect with the whipped horseradish. The Yorkshire bread pudding was DELICIOUS. I added a lobster tail to my dinner and was a very happy girl! The spinning salad was an awesome start. I also added the creamed spinach which was not very tasty and even sort of gross, but everything else was so great that it didn't really matter. I just didn't eat it. Next time I would probably skip adding an additional side all together or try the corn or asparagus.

I would recommend this restaurant for a special occasion with the family or friends. The crowd is older and the restaurant is classic with an old fashion feel. We had a lovely waitress- I felt sorry for her because those uniforms are totally hideous! Think cafeteria circa 1968 complete with old lady nurse shoes. I think I was more offended by those bad shoes/uniforms than the cream spinach, but over all we had a lovely dinner and will definitely go back.

I'm downgrading my former 5 star review to 2 stars. Service as of late has deteriorated, tremendously.

First off, why do they insist on seating small parties at those long booth-style tables that feel so much like the school cafeteria tables of my youth, only covered with a white tablecloth? Why? I hate having the nosy people sitting on either side of me stare at me all glazey eyed and slack jawed while I eat.

And worse than that, it is impossible to have a private conversation at these tables. Say something even remotely interesting and your booth neighbors practically freeze like statues to get a better listen. Ugh. On a personal note, I have even requested to NOT be seated at these tables when making a reservation. And what happens when they lead us to our table? You guessed it, they try to squeeze us into those hellish 10 ft. long booth seats. *To be fair: the last time we went, after I complained to the woman seating us, she promptly reseated us at a "normal" table.*

Secondly, I am not a complicated orderer (no, that is not a word but just go with me on this). I don't make special requests. I order straight off the menu, as is. So why in God's name is it difficult to provide me with my correct order? Never mind the fact that there's not even a chance for my order to get lost on the way to the kitchen because the kitchen is a rolling cart an entire 3 inches away from my table. Seriously annoying. I ask for spinach, I get corn. I ask for corn, I get spinach.     W T F.

Less annoying to me, but very annoying to those in my party, last night we ordered a side dish and an after dinner drink that never showed up on our table but DID show up on the bill. Were we not paying attention, we would've paid an extra $25 for nothing.

I fear that our love affair is over, Lawry's. It was good while it lasted. I now find myself more attracted to your cousin, Tam O'Shanter.

I love that the quality of food and service remain the same throughout the years. I went back for the first time in over 6 years last Friday and I think they offer you more food now than what I remembered? I thought the spinning bowl salad was extra but it comes with dinner as well. Nonetheless, it's delicious... I love their cream spinach and horseradish.

Yep, this place is uber yummy.

If you're hunkerin' for some good prime rib then this place is definitely for you.

I came here back in 2007-2008 and had one of the best meals.

The meat is made to your liking cooked in its own tender juices, mmm.

There are restaurant staff workers walking around with large portable closed heating carts that keep various side dishes warm for you.  They will make the rounds and go to each table that hasn't been served yet and ask which side items you would like with your main cut of meat.  I had chosen the creamed corn and spinach and both were really good.

We also had some merlot to go with our meal to cut through the thick meat and it all paired off very well.

This establishment is located along one of the main streets in Beverly Hills and the parking is valet in their own lot.

The entire place is pretty big and you want to make reservations ahead of time especially if you plan on dining here on a weekend night.

The service is great, the food is really good and the entire experience is wonderful. :)

This review has been a long time coming, especially since I visited Lawry's back in March! Nonetheless ~ here it goes!

A group of my friends and I decided to go out and have a nice dinner. My friend made reservations for Lawry's and we ventured out on a Saturday night for dinner. The wait for a reservation was still 20 minutes - but man the lobby and bar area were packed with hungry guests. Keep in mind that if you make a reservation, be ready to put your credit card on it. If you have a no show it's going to cost you $50!

- Spinning Salad (literally...!) Just the right amount of salad dressing
- 3 Lobster Tails + Steamed Vegetables - Double YUM!
- Side of Creamed Corn - Quadruple YUM!
- Creme Brulee - YUM

The lobster was cooked just right and was delicious. So delicious I remember it months later. All I can say is - where has this creamed corn been all my life??

Always a great experience here!  I always take my parents here when they're in town, and we have yet to have even a mediocre time here!  Seems like a great place to work, because all the employees seem very happy.  Worth every penny!

Holy cow, that's a lotta meat.  They have this prime rib thing down to a science.  I guess they should considering it's basically all they specialize in.  Perfectly cooked, nice jus, and nice horseradish sauce.  I like my horseradish a little spicier, but I'm also a wasabi fiend, so I guess I'm not the best judge.  There's not a whole lot more to say.  I don't think prime rib can get a whole lot better than this unless you're gonna do it with a wagyu rib roast and pay $200 for a piece.

Incidentally, I really wonder if there's any way I can get the prime rib without the center muscle, basically the "eye" of the rib eye.  I only like the outside portions that are fattier and more flavorful.  It's helpful going with a girl who's health/figure/fat conscious so I can give her the eye and she gives me the outer ring, and everyone's happy.  :)

A first class experience from start to finish.  The atmosphere, service, food and drink are nothing short of exceptional.  The history (Beef Bowl, etc) and class of this place ooze through in everything they do here.

The best part about the experience is that it is a great value.  Yes, your check for two (with wine) will exceed $100, but unlike steakhouses which charge for everything a la carte, here your salad and (most) sides are included.

Lawry's is always our go-to restaurant to take relatives, family friends, or out-of-towners.  It's elegant, but the atmosphere is energetic enough so that we don't have to be self-conscious and speak in our "library voices".  Lawry's also has one of the best restaurant waiting areas; on top of having plush couches for you to rest on, they also have meatballs and other small bites for your munching pleasure.

I don't eat prime rib, but everything else at Lawry's is so amazing - from the sides of creamed corn and spinach to lobster tails and salmon - that I never feel like I'm missing out on anything.  And who can resist a spinning salad with their special dressing - spun table-side by a server who looks a couple of decades out of date?

Damn, I'm getting so hungry just thinking about all of their food.  Good thing there's a Lawry's here in Taipei!  I hope they also have that weird stone fountain thing out front.  Call me easily amused, but I could stare at that thing forever - occasionally sticking a finger in the water to mess up the flow =P

This place has extremely good service.  The wait wasn't that long, we showed up late to our reservations...either way, it was a great dining experience.  Did not feel rushed at all.  The food was absolutely amazing.  I had swordfish along with the bread pudding.  I didn't know swordfish could taste so good!  I would definitely reccommend this place for a special occassion.  You should come here if you love meat, but if you don't like seafood then there isn't any options for you.  Def a high class restaurant!
