This is a 7.5 acre neighborhood park that we discovered through Yelp.
Features:
* Two separate playground areas (not fenced in, but set back from the road)
* Sand
* Swings
* Picnic tables
* Large grassy area
* Paved path around field
* Softball backstop
* Pedestrian/bicycle bridge over Laurel Creek leading to Casanova Park (Casanova park is a smaller fenced in park with restrooms.)
* Par course
* Street parking
* Dogs welcome on leash
Bring sand toys, a scooter, or a kite. This a nice park, especially for kids.Listed in: Park Rundown - Where to take…

We just discovered this park. Definitely one of my favorites, with 3-4 separate playgrounds depending how you count, a large meadow, and a bridge where you can feed ducks.
One of the playgrounds is across the bridge, and is technically a different park (Casanova Park) -- it has older equipment which may not be everybody's idea of safety and fun, though I am personally fine with it (parents are way too worried these days). -

A fairly large park tucked away in the Laurie Meadows residential area of San Mateo. After scouring the area for more restaurants for our lunch runs, my co-worker and I wandered aimlessly into the neighborhood. No food here but still a great area for lying and soaking up the sun after having had a huge Chinese lunch.

Last month my friend had her daughters 10th birthday at Laurie Meadows park. There isn't much shade from the beaming sun so they brought their own canopy to shade the food and a bunch of folding chairs and blankets to sit on. In the large grassy area we played relay races and set up a bubble station for the younger kids. The playground kept most of the kids happy and busy most of the day. The only problem is that the bathrooms are far from the BBQ area and were NOT open during the party. Other that the bathrooms everything else was all good.

Laurie Meadows Park is vast with a large lawn, a lot of picnic tables and barbecues, and a vast array of playground equipment for kids of all ages. It is perfect for soaking up the San Mateo sun, having picnics and parties, and just letting your kids run lose. I rode through the park on my scooter, cutting through it when I was a kid. Like I have said about all parks, this is well maintained and also perfect for dogs. People may or may not know about the park on the other side or actually in the very back of the park; it is over the bridge and is in the adjoining residential area in the back. This back park is smaller with a small playground and a few benches, just so everyone knows. Getting back to the main park, it is great for everyone for every activity and will be there for years to come. Keep up the good work City of San Mateo.!
