this is absolutely the best free sailing magazine not only in the bay area but anywhere. more coverage about all forms of sailing than any one person could or want to absorb.

it covers racing (not my thing), cruising (this is my thing), boat reviews, sailor reviews, opinions, classifieds, etc... the best part for me other than cruising stories that keeps my cruising dreams alive is the letters section.

letters are answered by the editor, a berkley grad from what i read, and he always has the right answer. i'm sure he would say different. but just when i think i know what i would say to some jackass writing in a crazy ass question the editor steps in and surprises me and i'm sure the jackass that asked the question with a well thought out and witty answer. howz that for a sentence run on. never said i could write. i only try.

when i lived in san diego i had no problem finding this magazine. so i go and move up to san francisco and i have the hardest time finding it.  damn mag is from here. i thought they would be falling out of the sky into my lap. not so. i figured it out now and go to a west marine to pick up my copy each month.

for any sailor out there this is a monthly must read. oh yeah they have a online version that updates about 3 times a week with cool pictures and news from the sailing world.

I love this magazine, can't wait for it to hit the yacht clubs...so I just drive by the Lat 38 office where they leave a stack on the doorstep!

Most of the sailing stories are written by people who are all over the globe, cruising, racing, living aboard, or just puttering around boats...great insights into the joys and the pitfalls of long distance cruising, owning versus chartering, etc...even the ads are interesting.

Great photography, as well.  Find it and enjoy.
