I love this place.  I typically get their sub sandwich but from time to time I will go off towards some of the specials of the day.  Their food always tastes so good and the service is wonderful.

They don't have a noticable bathroom, but if you ask they will take you to the bathroom in the back.  (most places wouldn't do this for you).

I have been going here since I was a kid.  Enjoye everytime I go.  :)

I definitely would recommend this place. I got their Spicy Sub and it was delicious. I had this place for lunch today. I also got the BBQ Chicken Salad which was not bad.

Overall, no complaints, I'll update my review as I try the other things on the menu. The customer service was nice too.

Tip: If you're just picking up, you may want to call and order first so when you walk in you can just go to the Pick Up Area. Or else, there is a line to wait in.

Lascari's is a pretty cool italian deli. The sandwiches are good, I've had better, I've had worst. The marinara on their pasta is also blah. However, the meat calzones are awesome!!! they're huge and they satisfy my picky pallet. The ricotta is nice and fresh, they also put marinara sauce and once they blended with the cheese and the meat is a great combination.

    Best calzones in Whittier!

The subs are delicious for the price. Ample parking and great atmosphere. I would definitely go there again, but next time I'm going to try something other than the submarine, maybe the lasagna which looked pretty delicious.

Had both the submarine sandwich and the Belly Buster pizza. I like that this place has friendly service and looks very clean, I loved their parmigiana (was great), also I'd love to come shopping here for some meats/cheeses etc.

However, let's just talk about the food for a second. The submarine was ok, not the best that I've ever had and the pizza was a few steps above microwavable pizza (ouch, I know). It was OK, just nothing special.

Would i go back, yes, but probably for their deli and goods more than the restaurant.

I've gone several times now and the service has been ok. This last time we went there for dinner it took about 15 mins for someone to even bring us menus (I think we also waited like 10 mins just for the hostess to seat us). Most of the waiters look like high school kids so I don't know how much they care to be there. I'm not too picky on service though seeing as how I love Vietnamese food so much and usually you only see the waiter at the beginning and end of the meal. So leave me my food and drink and Im usually good if you don't come back.

The table bread is pretty good. It's oven fresh and toasted on the outside. It's served with butter but I also ask for olive oil and some balsamic vinegrette and make my own dip. This usually makes me half-full by the time the main dish comes out.

I've been to Lasacari's like 3 or 4 times, but after I found baked rustica I mostly order that. It's a poor man's version of the penne rustica at Macaroni Grill which is WAY more awesome as far as food, but for Whittier, Lascari's version more than gets the job done.

I haven't really tried too much else because it either didn't look that good coming out of the kitchen or it didn't jump out at me on the menu. Lascari's is not really a place where the room just fills with the scent of great food when a waiter brings a hot plate out of the kitchen.

Still, whenever I'm in the mood for Italian and I'm too lazy to drive and/or to cook at home ('cus you could make most of the menu yourself) then I go to Lascari's. Wish that wasn't the case, but it is what it is.

Came here during the week for lunch. Since there restaurant is a little further away, decided to try there deli.  Oh so not what i expected, in a good way though.
So you walk in to see a deli counter in the far back that has any type of coldcut you would probably want from an itlalian market, as well as all types of cheese's.  They have tables in the middle section, where you can purchase food and eat.  To the right, there is a small dry goods section with italian fare.
Now the only things they sell here, as far as food goes, is pizza's, pastas, and hot and cold subs.  let me tell you by the some of the plates i seen go by, they dont skimp on any of the portions.
We ordered a medium pizza, with everyhing on it. The pizza itself was really good. Next time, yes i will have to go back and try one of the cold cut sandwiches...
Otherwise, this place is very clean and farely big. Enjoy.

I don't want to be one of those people who writes a negative review of a place based on one bad experience, but I am going to be.

As my previous review attests, my girlfriend and I are big fans of Lascari's, but after my last visit I vowed to write a negative review on Yelp.

I like split pea soup, so when split pea soup is the soup of the day, I want some of it. I saw on the menu that "soup and salad" is $7.50. I thought, "$8 for soup and salad? Must be a big bowl of soup," so I ordered it.

The salad they brought me was the typical small dinner salad that comes with most of the meals. It was tasty as usual.

Then they brought out my bowl of soup, and it was the same tiny bowl of soup they bring you if you order soup instead of salad with your meal. I thought, "OK, tiny bowl of soup, I figure there's refills," and slurped it down. I drank it before my girlfriend and my friend were done with 1/4th of their meal. (My friend got the Lasagna, and my girlfriend got the calzone, which at about $10 each didn't cost much more than my soup and salad.)

When the waitress came by I asked her, "Can I have some more soup?"

She kind of winced, like she was saying something she just knew I wasn't going to be happy about, "I can get you another bowl, but it will cost $2.50."

I was a little aghast, but I tried to be cool: "Well, in that case, nevermind."

My girlfriend egged me on: "Really baby, $2 for another bowl of soup and you don't want it?" She noticed I was done eating before her and my friend had even began.

I explained, somewhat tersely to both her and the waitress, "They already charged me $7.50 for a tiny bowl of soup and a tiny plate of salad, and now they want to make it $10 for two tiny bowls of soup and a tiny plate of salad? No thanks."

"Are you sure?" the waitress asked.

    "Yeah, I'm sure."

Quite frankly the whole situation pissed me off something awful. I'm not the type of guy to make a scene so I didn't want to shout about it in the restaurant or anything, but what is that?

Do they really think two bowls of soup that probably came out of a can plus a tiny little salad is worth $10? For $10 I expect an amount of food that will make me feel full, maybe something with a substantial amount of meat in it, but two small bowls of soup and a small salad would not be it. For less than $10 off the same menu I could have gotten a mini calzone, which is still considerably more food than their "soup and salad" offered me.

I have the manager's cellphone number, from a weird coupon/email situation we were involved in, and it still takes a lot of my restraint to not send her a text message or call her and wonder what the heck kind of racket they're trying to pull.

As an aside, in our last few trips we'd order the Garlic Puffs appetizer. The first time we ordered it we got a big plate simply FULL of garlic puffs. The second time we got a smaller plate with less of them than the first time. The third time, we got a weird bowl with still less than the second time. The fourth time the plate was tiny and there were even less garlic puffs on it. The price of the appetizer never went down, but the amount of food we got did each time. At the rate they were going, if there was a fifth time we ordered it they'd bring us a plate with four puffs on it.

Anyway, just keep that in mind if you're eating at Lascari's. They seem to have no qualms about overcharging you. The waitresses even seemed to be prepared for you to be unhappy about it.

Great sandwich shop! The sandwiches are consistently good, meats are tasty and moist, vegetables are fresh and their side potato and pasta salads are delicious. It's cheap, simple and homey. Just the way I like it.

The service is slow though. We waited nearly 20 mins for our food and there was nearly no one there. And the bathroom is in the kitchen so they have to escort you back there, awk.

Loooves the food though, totally worth the wait. Hopefully service picks ip next time.

Just had to write a quick update to let y'all know that the catering here is absolutely fantastic.  They have this devilish focaccia sandwich sheet thingy that is seriously mind blowing.

The bread has the golden tender olive oil kissed bite of love on top, soft pillow like goodness on the inside.  Simply dressed with mayo and filled with various meats and cheeses, it  is so so good.

Every time my boss needs catering for a big meeting, I order one of these and "accidentally" order the biggie, knowing he will let me take the leftovers home so Mr. Schmoopie and I can gorge ourselves while yelling at the tv as we watch Big Brother.

    BLT ($5.79)

Being the insufferable Bacon Whore that I am....I was gearing myself up for disappointment..as is usually the case with BLT's that I don't make myself....with Grub in WeHo being the notable exception.

THAT being said.... I was NOT disappointed!  Toasted French roll, perfect amount of tomato and lettuce (ie. minimal) gooey, warm overflowing mayo and a semi-generous amount of the best meat ever.... http://www.yelp.com/bi... tasty, crispy, salty bacon in every single bite that was never overpowered by the L or the T.  Bacon is the star, after all...L and T better know their place....

Thank you Lascari's...for letting that bacon star shine.

I dine here several times a year. Always good service, great food and priced right. However, last nite I ordered the stuffed fish and was told that the new chef used roughy for the fish. I later found that roughy are endangered and often contains high mercury levels. Your best bet would be to go online to SEAWATCH, which is a site dedicated to helping folks select safe, sustainable seafood. Other than that, Lascaris is one of my favs.

Did a phone order for a pizza...went to the pickup counter and stood there for about five mins with nobody even acknowledging I was there. One lady was on the phone at the register while three other three employees walked by me a few times saying nothing. They need 2 work on there "Hello be right with you" or some type of acknowledgment.
    Pizza was good at least.

    MEATBALLS!!!

besides sweets, a lot of the time i get a craving for marinara with cheese- whether it be in pizza form, pasta, sandwich or other carb form.

so for today's little office prethanksgiving lunch take out- i decided on the meatball sub. i never order those, but my friend made us some the other day, and i've had a hankering ever since!
I usually order the Turkey ABC or Chicken Sizzle Salad. (both yummy!)

For about 7 bucks, you get a huge, delicious, meaty sub. the meatballs got some serious flavor (but not too herb-y) and the mozzarella cheese is perfectly melty. unfortunately my pics didn't come out so appetizing, but it was!!! u can check out the ones yelper Robin posted-much prettier!

comes with tasty side of pasta salad. yay, more carbs!!!

Have a happy thanksgiving everyone!!! Happy eating!!!

Perhaps one visit is not enough to write a fair review seeing as how they have a fairly extensive menu.

Perhaps it's not fair to base a 2 star review at an Italian deli on their pastrami sandwich.

    Perhaps I'm being too nice.

The restaurant itself is quaint and cozy, offering a very wide selection from both the menu and the deli case. I was tempted to try either the meatball sandwich or a slice of pizza, but I opted for the pastrami as it has been far too long.

My friend ordered the cheese ravioli and the garlic cheese bread.

Portions are decent and the garlic bread was massive; however, that is as far as the thumbs up factor goes.

Pastrami was moist and tender but lacked flavour. The bread used had a nice pull with a light crust. Toasted well. Like it very much. The pastrami itself was lacking, though the palate was assaulted by giant globs of mustard. Didn't like that very much.

Side pasta salad that came with the sandwich was not good at all. Too much dressing with stale pasta.

Cheese ravioli was sizable and mushy. Sauce was half water, half tomato paste. I guess they want you to mix it yourself.

Garlic cheese bread was impressive in size and had generous amounts of garlic and cheese. Well done, but too heavy.

Kept clean and service is friendly.

Would I come back? Probably not.
    Would I recommend? ....Probably not.

Alright, can we say YUMMY! So this was the second time I've had food from Lascaris. The first time we had a catered lunch at work during Christmas and the second was today. Like many have said before they have quite a selection but what stuck out immediately was the mushroom Lasagna and it was heaven. It came with a Minestrone soup, I didnt place the order but it also came with delicious Garlic and Sour Dough bread. I kept thinking to myself, where have you been all my life? Well more like where have you been since I last December? So I'm on this health kick but I figured if I'm going to cheat, I'm going to do it right.

Kudos to my awesome co-worker that suggested her favorite Italian joint. It's now my favorite italian joint and she cant have it back. Next time I'm going to order a canoli and baked ziti.

I know some might not agree with the 5 stars, but for some reason I am always completely satisfied after eating a sandwich from here. Even at the end of the day when the bread is starting to get a little firm, it is still so good.

I always get a turkey sandwich, and there is always a good amount of meat. The bread is always tasty, but that can be due to my love for bread and carbs in general (gotta fuel my running). The large sandwiches are about 12 inches in length, I think, but they are a decent size for the price. The g/f always gets  mortadella with provolone and avocado. She is also a glutton of this place as well, probably coming here much longer (and more often) than myself. The sandwiches also come with a little side of their pasta salad, which is also great. I think its rotini pasta (medium size spirals) with chopped onions and bell peppers along with house dressing.

There is also a restaurant on Whittier Blvd. and another on Imperial Hwy. in Brea...but the sandwiches (mainly the bread) don't seem to be quite the same as from the deli. The sandwiches also seem smaller as well. But I haven't been to restaurants in a while so maybe they have changed. I would go and check it out, but I never want to risk passing up a sandwich from the deli.

This is one of my favorite places to eat, especially if you're craving some good Italian sandwiches. The Italian sausage sandwich was absolutely awesome, the bread was soft and fresh, and toasted to the perfect level; and the sausage was full of great flavor.
Also they have a great selection of great gelato with all kinds of flavors. Plus, if you ever need some specialty meats or cheese to complete a dish, this is the place to come and get them. The variety and quality of the meats they offer at the deli counter blows any regular supermarket meat counter out of the water.
This place seems to be one of the last true remaining deli's where you can get specialty meats from all over the world and not be stuck with the mass produced stuff from the supermarket.

Good quick restaurant quality food to go (or on site if you want).
Large menu, good prices, yummy bakery items....but enough about the food.
They have GELATO - made on site. Good variety of flavors.
    GOOD gelato.
(This is where to go for gelato in Whittier )
Pistachio is great, nutty and creamy - genuine taste.
Favorite Summer Flavors here are GRAPEFRUIT (you don't have to like grapefruit - don't scrunch up your nose - it's not too bitter - it's SO REFRESHING you HAVE to try it)
    Watermelon is SO GOOD too.

I absolutely adore this place! Although it's a little pricey the food is delicious. I usually order the Turkey ABC (Avocado,Bacon & Cheese) it comes with a delicious pasta salad and their chips are scrumtious.

My bestfriend recently introduced me to meatball sandwich's and OMG! so good! I usually dont like eating large amounts of meat but this meatball sub was great! It had the perfect size meatballs and cheese.

However, their service kinda sucks which is why I didn't give them 5 stars because on a busy day the tables are dirty and when asked to clean them the ladies seem to get annoyed as if it's somebody else's job. Really? I dont care who's job it is. Just clean it!!!  lol I'm huuuungry!

Also the restrooms are in the kitchen area and depending on the person they may not allow you to use it. lol

    Tasty! tasty! tasty! yum Lascari's!

Good food!  The last time I came here was for my sister's bday meal with the family.  The starter bread use to be better, now it's sour dough (but I guess it's good if you like sour dough).  I always get their FETTUCCINE ALFREDO w/ extra broccoli =].  Their meals come with a small salad which is always fresh.

From what my friends say, their LINGUINE and CLAM in their white wine garlic sauce is really really good.  They also have PRAWNS and MUSSELS which are suppose to be good too.  They always have specials so be on a look out for it.

They have a second location in Brea across the street from the Brea Mall in the plaza with Jamba Juice.  I've never been to that one so I don't know if there's a noticeable difference.

They aren't open on Mondays (which I've had to learn the hard way =/)

    So very delicious!!!
From the outside it looks like a mini mart/Deli... Who would have guessed that they serve food as well...
Anyways It's pretty simple. You walk up to the counter, you order your food, you wait for your order and BAM Deliciousness is served...
I have the Baked Ziti. It was REALLY good but it had TOO much ricotta for my liking.. but it was good!! My meal was served with a fresh roll of bread.
Another cool thing is the Canollis are made as you wait.. :0)
I can't wait to stop by again and try some other of thier goodies!
You can also buy different Argentinian and Italian dry and canned goods, different olives, cheeses, and bread!

Holy moly.... Lascari's... my mouth waters when i say that name, when i think about your delicious sandwiches, your tasty pasta... good LORD!!!

This is THE place to get a great deli style sandwich in the whittier/la habra/pico rivera/alhambra area. the sandwiches are always put together with such artistry, one might frame this delightful concoction in their home just to say "I was about to eat it but... I mean, LOOK at it."

I live about a block away from this place and took a trip there almost every week this summer, the Pastrami is probably one of the best tasting pastrami sandwiches i have ever had, and the eggplant marinara is absolutely ridiculous! each sandwich comes with a bit o' pasta salad, which itself is another story completely.

after you eat your meal, you realize that you're in a freakin' bakery. holy crap they have so many tasty treats there, willy wonka would shit his pants from the jealousy. the gelato is creamy, always delicious, and the pastries... well, you just gotta drop in and see for yourself.

This is closer to 5 stars than 4.  Went to Lascari's for the first time after hearing good things about it.  Although service was a bit slow (especially since we were the only ones in there at the time), I loved the food.  Great portions and very tasty.  We had the cobb salad and their turkey abc (avocado, bacon, cheese) sandwich.  What I loved the most though was their cannoli - sooo gooood!! Definitely on the we-will-visit-again list.

Just throw out that 1 star fool.

The sandwichs are so fresh and delicious.  I work nearby but live far from this place yet have considered coming to this place on my days off.  I used to get the large sandwiches but would be useless the rest of the day.  Its great that even a small sandwich, that comes with a tiny pasta salad, can still fill you to the brim.

As for service, the interaction is so minimal since you walk up to order and then they call your name.  Even so, I have only had pleasant experiences with them.

Great deli and a must try.

There pizza is amazing. I still remember the exact moment I had my first bite of Lascari's pizza.

They have real parmesan cheese and real red pepper.

    Try: any of their pizzas

Turkey ABC delicious. A bit pricey for lunch everyday but a good treat, large portions (for large size)

there are a few lascaris in and around the whittier area, and even at the best of times, they are nothing to rave about.
but this lascari's gave me horrible service when i went there to pick up food for my family. they were rude, and rushed my order, not only that, but they got my order wrong twice in which i had to send it back. (i have gotten in the habit of checking my food before i leave on take-out orders)
this place gave me horrible service, and it was a lot of run around for food that is not that great.
if you must go to a lascari's i'd try one of their other locations.

Lascari's has got to be the best deli within 30 miles of Norwalk.

The food there is always great.  I usually get the small turkey sandwich.  Even their small sandwich is pretty big.  For around $8 you get a sandwich, a side of pasta, and a drink.  Some other recommendations would be the Chicken Parmigiana sandwich or the Capacolla & Genoa sandwich.

We have some co-workers who do not like the place, but they eat like children and are not sandwich people (which Lascari's is great for).

If you like a freakin' great sandwich, you will love Lascari's.

Lascari's has great food, fun family atmosphere, and delicious gelato bar (which is my favorite)! I had the Baked Ziti and it was excellent~ Multiple members of my extended family eat there all the time and love it... One of them even had Lascari's cater a family party with their pasta bar (it was creative, yummy, and affordable for a party)!

Amazing food. It is one of the few places to get a good pastrami sandwich. My family drives over an hour just to eat there. The Buffalo Chips are delicious, strange name, but its great bread (good to dip in ranch.) They have TONS of gelato and ice cream flavors, and a very eclectic collection of art on the walls.

Okay, just because I love you yelpers I'll let you in on a secret. After watching the Sopranos (box set or reruns on A&E), ever crave an authentic italian sandwich? Well I found it here at Lasacri's Deli. Don't get it confused with Lascari's the restaurant on Whittier Blvd. This place is special. Infinite menu of sanwiches(meatball, sausage, italian meats), pastas, pastries & gelatos. Everything is authentic and good. They have an area for seating and eating your meals there. This place is truly 5 stars.
