Some friends and I stopped here on a Friday night on the way to spend a weekend in Birch Bay.  We were all hungry, but none of us were willing to sacrifice a foot to gnaw on.

As we walked in, the first thing that I noticed was that Las Garzas looked much bigger on the outside than in. Usually, it's the other way around or the inside looks comparable to the outside.  It wasn't as though we walked into a crate but it was enough of  difference for me to spend a paragraph writing about it.  Strange phenomenon.

It was kind of busy, but  we were seated without hesitation, handed menus, and drink orders were taken.  Everything on the menu was standard for a chain Mexican restaurant, in fact, the menus themselves were standard for a chain Mexican restaurant- very tall, laminated, and splattered with professional-looking photographs of the the food.   A Google search only turned up the one location, however.  And before we left, I asked for a card or anything with the address on it (a Yelp formed habit) and was handed a fist full of expensive-looking cheap pens that were printed with all the info.  It's as if they're trying to make people think they're big-box.  Maybe that's what they need to do to make it in Marysville.  Again, strange phenomenon.

Our orders were taken when the drinks were brought and, I swear, it's as if the server took our orders, walked the short distance to the kitchen, picked up our food, and brought it back to our table, in one continuous motion.  Strangest phenomenon yet.

I ordered the Chicken Enchilada Combo which came with rice, beans and some sort of coleslaw.  The portions were big and the food was fine.  Unremarkable, but good if you're really hungry.  About what you would expect from a real chain.  Safe and suitable for mass consumption, but with the power to bend space and time.
