I am EXTREMELY disappointed in my experience today. I called in for a Pick-Up order and this is the gist of what I found:
1) the prices are not up to date on the web
2) the girl who took my order did not tell me the price so imagine my surprise when I ended paying almost $30 for shrimp enchilada and a combination plate...
3) they did not honor the price on the web, they just brushed me off,
4) for two meals I got one set of utensils and NO salsa
5) my food was cold
Go to Jose's on Redlands Blvd instead. The food is better and prices are cheaper!!! (No, I don't work for them and I don't have any affiliation to them). I will NEVER go back to Las Fuentes!!!!!! -

When I moved to Redlands 5 years ago, I remember liking this place. They had really good margaritas, and their salsa was spicy and traditional. The menu had pictures, and the prices were reasonable.
I guess i haven't been here in a while, but my visit yesterday was appalling. We expected a party of 9 or 10 people (happy hour!), and another girl and I were the first to arrive. We ordered the Skinny Margaritas, and the waitress told us it was 1/2 off margarita night. She told us that skinny margaritas were not half off. Since we expected people, we asked if we could get pitchers too. She said yes...
She did NOT mention that the pitchers were NOT half off...
When the rest of our party got there, they all ordered pitchers, which ended up being $23.99 each. Dang. But the waitress didn't tell us that until we ordered a second round.
Well, i complained... I know the rest of my party is waiting for this review, and waiting for me to admit that I got pretty upset with the waitress. But, I actually thought I was pretty reasonable... hahaha. Hindsight is 20/20 right?
They ended up giving us a couple margaritas for free (the half off ones, which were weak and syrupy). What they SHOULD have done is given us one of the pitchers for free.
The prices for food were surprisingly expensive! I had already eaten, but i did scavange some remains from my neighbors plate, and they beans were SUPER salty. Salt is not cool with me.
And then the bill came... well, it was a total mess, nothing was labeled in a way we could identify items. Since we are all reasonable adults, we just split the check evenly.
If you want some amazing "mexican" food, go to Case Maya in Mentone. Their margaritas are also amazing. Las Fuentes could learn a thing or two from them... -

Sunday brunch is an all time favorite experience with my family of 4 and other family's that we meet up with there. The strawberries and cream is delish, plus the custom omelet station is convenient and patio seating offers a great way to start 'Sunday Funday'!!! The kids try all sorts of foods and are never bored by the selections.

I only sat in the bar an didn't order food. Chip and salsa were good and so was my michelada. They did not have any Mexican beer on draft which I thought was odd, but they of course had Hangar 24.
I would maybe try it again, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. -

My review is for the Sunday brunch... You cannot beat $12.99 for bottomless champagne and all you can eat! My bestie, Laura, introduced my sister and I to this place just this past Sunday. I must say, the food was good and there was so much variety.
There is an omelet station and a woman making homemade corn tortillas! They have pozole, menudo, and caldo de rez. They also have the normal fare you'd find at any other mexican buffet: enchiladas, rice, beans, meat for tacos. They have a variety of meat entrees to chose from like Chicken Diablo, Barbacoa, Chile Verde, Fajita mix, and even ribs. Yeah, I said RIBS! LOL You can have french toast and they even had tater tots!
And lets us not forget about the dessert station, Sonia! The arroz con leche was sooooo good! They have mini cinnamon rolls, cupcakes, flan, custard, jello, little cheesecake tarts, bread pudding, mexican sweet breads, churros filled w/ caramel, and jello of course. And be sure to note that this place is not greedy with the champagne.
Las Fuentes brunch, I will be back! -

Well, at the insistence of several friends (and based on the number of positive reviews), I tried Las Fuentes again...
Hasn't changed a bit. One hour and 45 minutes for lunch. We got there at 11:40 and the "rush" that day, which was bout 5 tables, didn't start until 12:00. Never got any refills despite asking 4 or 5 times. Check took 20 minutes to come out--thankfully we had enough cash to cover it. I can't imagine how long it would have taken for a credit card or to get change.
Several other tables were commenting on the service too... and it was clear they were not understaffed--they had 4 waiters working for about 5 tables. They spent most of their time gossiping near the kitchen instead of paying attention to the tables.
The food is ok, but there are at least 3 or 4 other places in Redlands to get the same quality food. Nice a quick bite to eat after a movie, but don't go here if you are on a schedule... say, like on lunch during a work day.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Note: This review is mostly about the bar area, I cannot speak for the restaurant part
Great Monday-Wednesay date night with the other half for football or baseball game watching. They have a great Happy Hour until 7pm which includes Hangar 24 drafts for 3 dollars and 1/2 off all appetizers. We almost always get out of there stuffed and happy for less than 20 bucks. The bartender Jason is great, he is personable, fast, and has a great memory (you learn to appreciate this as a person who spent 5 years of college in the food service industry) and I always love his little dance mix he has playing on his I-Pod in the bar. As stated in other reviews I am not one for a "hey lets get sheeeet-faced" type bar, etc. This is always just a nice chill place with nice chill people. I likey.
I really love their shredded chicken nachos and their salsa is pretty good as well. If you are with a group of three or more, get the combo appetizer plate it is gigantic and a GREAT deal for happy hour. -

Food is pretty consistent and decent. Not the best but diffidently not the worst. Service was a bit slow for a not very busy Saturday night. Drinks were just ok this time. Normally the margaritas are very good.

Oh, come on guys, it's better than 3. We just discovered this place, and I like it better than Cuca's.
We've been here about 4 or 5 times now, and as my picky husband says, we aren't going anywhere else for mexican in redlands. GREAT happy hour. where else can you get 3$ pints, 4$ nachos (GOOD nachos, with tender chicken, not dried, and not just velvetta spread on stale chips)? I get the fresh cerviche for 5$. small but cute bar, tv's just the right size, great for to watch the game w/a buddy. Jason is a Great bartender, fast w/the drinks and on time w/ the food. He made my skinny marguerita just the way I like, fresh squeezed, without even having to ask.
Check it out while waiting for the flick to start next door. I have only eaten in the main dining room once, but the service was good, and the enchila good solid mexican food. -

Prompt service. Great chips and salsa. The platter for two has two tostadas, two tacos, two enchiladas, beans and rice. It is so much food. Their enchiladas are the best I've ever had.
Prices are very resonable. I've never been disapointed. Great spot for authentic mexican food and the Sunday brunch is a wonderful value as well. -

I've been here about three times now and won't be going back. At my last (and final) visit I ordered the beef fajitas. Yuck. Worst fajitas I've ever had and I've had fajitas many times at other restaurants. First, the beef was absolutely flavorless. Second, it was so tough and chewy. Third, it was smothered in this awful thick red sauce. WTF? I've never seen fajitas in a sauce before. Service is decent, as are the chips and salsa. But all three visits resulted in less than satisfactory food.

I think the people who didnt like this place ordered the wrong thing. I have never had 2 star food here. Maybe the trick is that BF and I always sit in the bar.
We usually order one or two of the following and share:
1. Mexican ceasar salad with chicken - lite with great dressing.
2. Steak quesadila - OMG. The steak has sooo much flavor!!! LOVE. LOVE. LOVE.
3. Steak nachos - probably our favorite to share. They are huge.
4. Cheese enchiladas - Homemade enchilada sauce - you can tell. And the alacarte ones come with sour cream tomatoes, and gaucamole - which is awesome.
5. Ceviche - Love! Very light and delicious!
The drinks are a little pricey - but comparable to other local spots. And they serve Hangar 24 local beers which is a plus.
And their HH is good!
Like this place!
I think that people who have never been in the service industry dont understand how difficult and busy it can be. Your food server cannot wait on you hand and foot. Eating should be a leisurely and pleasurable thing - so, stop focusing on how bad the service is and enjoy yourself. Also, if you know for instance that you drink a lot of water - tell the waiter at the beginning. But, if you truly had an awful experience - I suggest coming back and sitting at the bar. Its hard for a bartender to ignore you when you are sitting 2 feet away from them. -

Not an all out great experience but it was decent. The rice was good tasting and had a unique flavor. The refried beans were a little on the runny side . The taco was ok.....not the best nor worst I've eaten. The strawberry margarita was rich tasting full of flavorg .The chips and salsa were on par with any other chain restuarant. The flan seemed like it came from one of those mixes you get at Smart and Final-not good!
The service was great for me....I had a very nice waitress and was seated promply. In and out in about 45 minutes. -

I've been to las Fuentes on several occasions - with the old lady, with the family, with friends - and every time it's been enjoyable. I usually get a big veggie burrito smothered in sauce, and it's always delicious. One thing I like is how they compartmentalized the inside, so even when it's busy you feel like you have your own space. Service is usually good. Parking is usually ridiculous in the theater lot, but I always assume I'll be hoofing it from the lot across the street so I'm never let down about it.
Full disclosure: I've never been hit by a car or run anyone over at that intersection.
edit 7/15/2009: did they raise the prices? I'm taking away a star. Last time I went, it was $10.50 for a pretty good big burrito. Nothing special, just a wet veggie burrito that tasted OK. 3 stars is good enough. -

Ditto the last review. The fam and I really wanted to like this restaurant, but we were disappointed both times with the food. Service was okay. We had also tried their other location in Yucaipa. Casa Trejo remains our fave.

Love, love, love Las Fuentes. I have never had a bad dining experience at any of their locations and can highly recommend this restaurant. Try the shrimp fajitas or shrimp enchiladas they're awesome. Even their veggie fajitas are out of this world.

This place has pretty good food, but nothing special. The prices are a little high, but the portions are large. Breakfast items are served all day and are a nice option for the budget conscious diner or someone who like me who loves Mexican style breakfasts. It has a nice casual atmosphere and I had no problems with the service.
