I am a fan of this place...regardless of how crowded Sat. breakfast buffet gets and how much unnecessary liquor I consumer during the Sunday Champagne brunch. The view is amazing and the service is always pretty good.
I have only been here for Sat. breakfast buffet and sunday brunch and finally made it out here for lunch one Sat. afternoon. We sat out in the patio and ordered from the limited patio menu. The weather was so nice and I couldn't pass out the opportunity to be out in the sun.
As many of you have read in previous reviews, I am NOT a fan of Mexican food (except chips and guacamole)...so, I was really reluctant to come here for Mexican food. Ironic as this is one of my fave places in Laguna!
Of course, we had to order the chips and guac. It was awesome. NOT too salty and just the right amount of chili, salt and tomato. We shared the Quesadilla and seafood cevice. They were both ok.
I ordered the steak and shrimp soft taco combo. It was better than I expected. I was very surprised. I liked it a lot and just thought hey, I would prob come back again! Ok, so, two tacos for like over $15 is really pricey...I guess, maybe I will stick w/ Baja Fresh!

I have always only gone to Las Brisas on Sundays for their Sunday brunch and little did I know this… Read more »
I found out about this when I received an invitation to break my fast here due to my 100% score at a training.
It took my breath away the first time I saw this place! I luckily got a place at the window so I even saw dolphins on my first day!
I've since visited this place at least 7 different times. It takes hours to get here but it is soooooo worth it.
Why? For the following reasons:
$11 breakfast buffet (since been changed to $13 but oh well)
Make-to-order omelette station
Hot cereal bar
Fresh pastries
FANTABULOUS VIEW
Great service
Great food
Location, Location, Location!
A beautiful day means you have to be outside enjoying the sunshine and watching the surf.
I love Las Brisas solely for the hilltop view looking at the blue pacific below.
Food is ok at best, but when you add a couple of nice cocktails and good conversation with friends, you have a great time.
The spicy mahi-mahi tacos have very little spicy flavor but the mango salsa that they pair with it is delish.
Guacamole is pretty decent, but at $9 for a little pile, I've had better.
There's lots of people watching to be had and service is friendly and quick. But if you're looking for just good eats instead of atmosphere, find somewhere else.

I've been to Las Brisas many times; and I can honestly say that I haven't had anything bad from there. The restaurant is sitting on top of a cliff overlooking the beach/ocean...the view from the dinning room is absolutely spectacular. Service has always been prompt and professional. My favorite dishes include Mero con Tomatillo (halibut), Callitos Tampiqueños (scallops)...see my pictures posted. The dishes are beautifully presented and, most importantly, taste delicious. Now they are supposedly a Mexican Riviera style restaurant....but their food truly is quite a few steps above any higher end Mexican restaurants I've tried. Love this place!
Although plenty of people are complaining about the food I don't think it's terribly warranted given the very reasonable price points (the patio even gets cheap).
If you want great Mexican food around that range head inland, if you want something with a good view and a fairly creative bar drop by.
This place is the place to go just for the view. Then on top of it you add on good food and drinks.
I went here last night, i had this great steak and enchilada meal i think it was called la asada, it was a lot of food, but yummy. I also ordered a mango margarita, it was AMAZING. We also ordered the chips and guacamole, which was so delicious. The guacamole was prepared so good, they serve it with little bits of tomatoes and onions on it.
This is a great place if your looking to go to just have a drink of appetizers i can't wait to come back!!

When you think of family reunion, you think of silly shirts, barbeque in the park, sack racing, etc., however this little clan doesn't roll like that, so we upped the ante and did it Laguna style. Although I wasn't able to attend all of the festivities, I thankfully was present for a delicious meal at Las Brisas.
Now, I don't know what dining at Las Brisas is like in a less than 20ish people deep situation, but the select menu that was compiled for the group wasn't limiting or lacking creativity. We all enjoyed chips, salsa and a beautiful guacamole spread. Each of us snacked on a spring-like salad with some south of the border flare and for dinner we were given the choice of Chicken, Steak or Halibut, all finely graced with delicious toppings and accoutraments. I had the Halibut (a heaping portion I might add) which was dressed in a mouth-watering tomatillo sauce on a bed of potatoes with asparagus on the side. I wanted to finish the entire thing, but I knew if I did I would be missing out on some serious dessert. The margaritas weren't tasty or strong (hence the 4 stars), but maybe this is a good thing because it could have gravely influenced the culinary experience. Each table was gifted with a dessert platter that was so brilliant it should have been framed. Cheesecake, chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate cake, profiterolls and creme brulee. The wait staff was extremely accomodating and reacted swiftly to any request.
I highly recommend opting for this pre-selected menu if you are with a large group. It was a definite highlight of the weekend!

Who woulda thought that this place was a Mejikano restaurante? Not I. Although, the name does sort of make sense since it means the winds (breezes) in espanol.
Bueno, yo voy a escribir en espanol porque este restaurante es un restaurante mexicano. Por los personas quien no pueden entender, aprenden espanol con Rosetta Stone. Por los otros quien entienden, vamos al revista...
Just kidding, the chances that people will actually read this review if it was all in Spanish is like a fat kid trying to fit into my sister's jeans. It just won't happen - she's petite petite petite. I know this because I've tried to fit into her pants and my arm barely fits into them... kidding.
I love the views from this place. It overlooks a cove like bay which you can walk to right after you eat their breakfast buffet. I've never tried any other meal, but you pretty much go for the location. I should probably try another meal there, but Laguna has so many great restaurants that this place doesn't really appeal outside of an early morning breakfast - and even if you want breakfast, you are still spoiled for choice in Laguna.
Whatever, if you havn't gone, go check it out. It's a great place to take a breakfast date (cuz you can just walk on the beach after and do a little smooching in the gazebo if no one is around - no PDA!).
Their OJ can be pricey, so know that it isn't included before you end up ordering 5 juices that is equivalent to a Benz car payment. No joke.

the shrimp tacos were ok but the drinks were nice and strong...bring a DD, dont wanna be driving on hwy 1 all tipsy. thought it was wack that the drinks did not have happy hour prices, just the food. booooo.
sidenote: i thought it was pretty cool that the meters out front take credit cards bc who the hell carries quarters let along cash these days.

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this restaurant. It is quite possibly my favorite restaurants of all times! My husband and I absolutely love this place! :)
Let's just say that this is one of the few places that gets me to wake up early enough for breakfast in the morning! :]
Personally, I have only come here for their breakfast buffets and each time I've come, I have gotten wonderful service!
But I have to say, what I enjoy most about this restaurant, besides the food, is enjoying the BEAUTIFUL view while I sip on my cup of hot coffee!
The food here is great! I love the omelet bar with their fresh salsa! And come on! Any kind of breakfast with bacon = a good breakfast! At least in my books!
Come early, folks! This place fills up fast! And! If you come early enough, you get a window seat! :)

I came on a Friday for a casual get-together with a few friends from college and to watch the Dodgers game. The restaurant is located in a residential neighborhood with metered parking. Metered parking! 8 quarters later, I only got 1 hr and 30 minutes. Parking here is a b*tch, on really busy days, you actually have to stalk people to see if they're getting out. Luckily for me, a nice old man and his Labrador Retriever was getting ready to leave in his Land Rover. I turn on my signal indicating I was waiting for him to leave, when another car saw him getting ready to leave also. It was a scene straight out of Transformers. My Caddy versus her Mercedes C-Class. Finally, when he put out, I promptly step on the accelerator and quickly park before she got a chance to react. A victory for the little man.
After 15 minutes of walking, a kind lady inside the restaurant directed me to the patio where my friends already ordered their food. Ah yes, the outside patio area-a view to die for! On clear days you can actually see San Clemente Island and views of Newport Beach and San Orenfre State Beach. I now understand why newly weds chose this scenic area to have photos taken of their beautiful couplings. The smell of the ocean is similar to a female long distance runner when she hasn't showered yet. So lovely!
Now on to the food. All my friends had Sangria- shrimp cocktail with mango. My college buddy had the Ahi burger. I asked for the menu, and surprisingly enough there are only two pages of food and cocktails. For a restaurant on the beach, they had a limited selection of food. Tacos and burritos. The only burger is the Ahi burger, which I'd ordered. The burger is Ahi fish, pineapple on a whole wheat bun. It nicely complements the Newcastle I'm having.
In all, people come here for the views, not for the food. The food is comparable to El Torito-better yet, El Torito has a better choice of food. But eating a Ahi burger overlooking the ocean with that fish smell is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Beware of parking, the city of Laguna Beach is in of revenues and liberally handling out tickets. Get ready to bring out your quarters.

nice spot to bring a date, food is so so but the view makes up for it.
Las Brisas is always a disappointment. Come on. They have the primo location in Laguna - so what on earth is going on here??? The food is absolutely some of the worst food I have eaten anywhere and yet they are still charging like it's a premium hot spot. I guess it has just turned into a total tourist trap - get them when they're here on vacation and won't be coming back anyway...
Chicken tacos - are we sure that was chicken?????
Fish and Chips - We are SURE that was some frozen crap
Nachos - I guess if you like a soggy goopy mess
Chips and Salsa - Hmmm, only if you wanna pay $10
All I can say is, unless you are coming here STRICTLY for the margaritas and awesome view, don't waste your time or precious pennies. You will be undersold!
The ocean view you can get on the patio of this location is breathtaking. So if you get a chance to just enjoy a cocktail on the patio, do so. The restaurant inside has a more upscale casual dining feel to it.
The service was timely, professional, and helpful. With that being said...you throw in good service with good food and you have an awesome place to dine.
They start you with a nice small varietal basket of bread...which is always nice for the extremely hungry person dying to get food.
I ordered the gazpacho soup to start with and it was fantastic. I would've licked the bowl clean had I not been on a date at the time and didn't wanna look like a crazy girl. Obviously, gazpacho soup is a chilled tomato vegetable soup, and I think one of the reasons why i liked it so much was because it reminded me of a spicy virgin bloody mary...only in a bowl. MmM!
As my main entree, I had the Playa del Sol. It was topped with lobster meat, avocado, and a sauce with a side of mexican rice and cherry tomatoes. It was delicious. I find many restaurants like to drench their white fishes with an overbearing sauce, but this place has got it right and I would recommend trying this dish.
The only thing I didn't like about this place is how close the tables can be. I got placed by the banister with another table right on the other side. Kind of felt like we could've gotten in on each other's conversations easily... Other than that...great location, good food, great service.

Came here today for lunch. The wait was about 30 minutes, but if a table became available on the patio, we could take it. That occurred, so we snagged the table and sat down. The waitress was super nice and attentive.
The menu for the patio...sucks. There are about 10 things on it, if that. I ended up getting the "Spicy" Mahi Mahi tacos and a Toffeetini. The drink was good, reminded me of Bailey's. The tacos were alright, but they were by no means spicy. Just tasted like fried fish.
My niece and nephew both had chicken fingers, and they said they were just okay. BF had the Ahi Burger and he liked it.
The view from the patio is gorgeous, as you are seated right above the ocean.
For now I am sticking with three stars, just because I wasn't blown away by the food, and I was disappointed in the small menu. I will come back sometime for dinner and see if that menu is any better.

Meh, Ive experienced better, seriously people!
This place has decent food, nothing spectacular. Imagine an El Torito with a great ocean view!
Thats all you are really paying for! The view is good but the food is soso and its always too crowded!
Here is a "Recession-Keeping you out of Depression-Dating tip"
Go to a good restaurant that is in IN OR AROUND A beach city for dinner and then go to a GREAT oceanfront cafe or small coffee shop for dessert. This way you can enjoy a great dessert or coffee with your loved one in a more relaxing way! Not every great restaurant is blessed with fantastic ocean views, and some that are typically have sub par food. Focus on the fun side of your evening with your date to keep your romance alive!
This will help you from slipping into a Depression from this 2007 December until now Recession

The breakfast buffet is delicious!
1. Gourmet Chef's make your omelet's..any way you want them
2. The breakfast buffet is only 10 dollars.
3. The view is absolutely breathtaking.
After breakfast.. the prices shoot up!
The lines are long, so I advise you to come early.

Nice outdoor seating but very limited menu. If you want diverse food - sit inside in the dining room.
The sea bass ceviche is very good!

Ok, came here again with the bf because we received a gift certificate. MAKE A RESERVATION on the weekends, this place gets packed!
For the appetizer we got the crab/scallop cakes, which were really good, but they really skimp you on the sauce, which was sad. I had the pomegranate margarita, which was good, but nothing I couldn't pull off at home (and it was $10, presumably due to the top shelf tequila being used).
For the entree, I ordered the dish (El Topolobombo?) that came with a seafood enchilada and the fish of the day (it was yellow tail with lemon-butter sauce). The seafood enchilada was delicious, but not as good as I last remembered it. The fish was super average, nothing to get excited about.
My bf had the special, which was some white fish in a papaya-type sauce. The sauce was good, but the fish was like mine, bland and dry. However, the mashed potatoes on the side were amazing!
What also gets me is the casual ambiance in the "fancy" restaurant type vibe they're trying to put off. It's kind of weird, because I feel like the restaurant is fancy, but then I see the people in the corner wearing jeans and sweatshirts amidst the people wearing fancy evening wear. I'm never sure how to dress when I come here...
We were too full for dessert.
Our waiter was awesome, the service was great. The food was meh...

So I've been here before several times, but not in the past 4 years maybe?? I remembered it being SO good, and having great views and wonderful service...
We just went here for my sister-in-law's proposal. She had been talking about going back, and so her now fiance planned to surprise her by taking her and having the whole family there when he proposed! So cute. But I'm going off on a tangent now...
It was like 100 degrees outside, and it was about 80 degrees inside, no joke. Turn on the friggin A/C, why don't you? But before we even got inside, there was NO valet parking. They blocked off the parking lot with cones and a "lot full" sign, leaving my husband, my 4 month-old and I to chaotically search for parking, which is NOT easy on a crazy summer day with a million cars around! And it's a beach city, so it's not easy to make u-turns and whatnot. So we had to pay $20 (!!!!!) to park in a private lot. Crazy. But whatever.
Then, our reservations were for 2pm, but with the parking situation, most everyone was running about 15 minutes late. Brunch is served until 3, and they kept asking if everyone had arrived, and I tried to explain that they had no parking so I was sure that's where everyone was. The waiter tried to tell me that there was valet even though I already explained that it was blocked off due to a full lot. Whatever. Bottom line here, he rushed us into getting our appetizers and then ordering. He even said "the kitchen's going to close, so I need to hurry up and have everyone order." He wasn't too polite about it. Grrr!
Then, my steak was medium well, which is irritating. No one likes a steak overdone, unless you're one of those people who enjoys it well done. I like to think that slightly more pink is better, because at least then you can throw it back in the oven or whatever. You can't "uncook" a steak, you know?
I just can't go on with this. Great view, hot dining room (and even hotter, musty bathroom-ew!), pretty good but not amazing food, mediocre service...not the Las Brisas I so fondly remembered. So I'll give it another try, and hope for better!

I would have given this place 4 stars but the wait for horrendous! Horrendous I say! However the view did make up for a lot. It was beautiful! We had a great view of the laguna beach. Kinda reminded me of Corona Del Mar hotel. Magnificent. Anyways back to the review. It was my friend's bday and we had reservations for noon. We arrived on time but only half of our party was there so they gave our table away then made us wait about 40 mins for another table. Of course they kept says oh its only going to be a couple more mins. Couple mins my assssssss! Alright so we are seated in this lil cove-like area which is very private. That was cool until we realized that it was very difficult to the attention of our waiter from that corner. Bleh. For some reason we are all dying of thirst and had to wait forever and a year for some water! Which of course we had to flag down our waiter for bc they had some save the water policy, so you have to request the water. We all ordered the sunday brunch for $33/pp. I got the desayuno ranchero which came with steak and egg and something else. My meals was purdy good. I had a lil big of champagne. The bday girl had to ask for oj like 5 times before we got any....minus one point. So all in all I would probably come back for the lovely view.

This review is just for the patio menu as when we went there the whole restaurant was full and there was an hour wait!.....however.....we were told the patio menu was currently available...we were starving so we decided to see if there was a table....to our astonishment one table became available just as we walked out there and it had a view of the ocean and the beautiful rose garden. I was also able to order a favourite drink of mine I had not had in ages nor seen on any menu since moving to America....a Caipirinha! My husband had the grilled soft tacos which he loved and I had the grilled Ahi burger....delicious!
We will definitely be going back there next time we are in Laguna...and we will be trying the dining room menu because if the patio menu is anything to go by then the dining room menu must be pretty spectacular! : )

Had a local couple suggest it and meet us for dinner here and I was really pleased with both the meal and the views of the Pacific overlooking Laguna Beach.
They have a great outdoor patio and the place is jam packed! It is a really trendy so-cal spot, so plan ahead and get there early or plan to spend some the waiting in the bar. The food is good, but the ambiance and "buzz" even better.
Liked it so much, I've already returned for more. I also expect to see the morons from "The Hills" come rolling in there at some point...
Went here a couple weeks ago for the first time with my parents, and I wasn't particularly impressed. We waited in the bar first and had margaritas, which were a little weak with too much orange juice and barely any grand marnier. Then we walked into the main dining area, and everything smelled like a bunny hutch-- yuck. That turned me off a lot (obviously).
I had the ensalada de primavera, which was the only vegetarian thing I could find. It had walnuts, pears, cranberries, and feta; I believe it was only $7, but it was not very filling, and I ended up eating two (and I don't usually eat much). It's definitely just a starter salad. Everything else was very pricey but "pretty good" from my parents' and husband's description. My husband had the salmon and ate most of it, which is rare for him. We didn't order the guacamole, but I saw that it was a normal bowl, and it's $12. I guess that is what to expect in Laguna.
Overall, it's OK but not great.
Been here on many occasions. Had a pleasant time each visit. Most recently I had my graduation/bon voyage party here. They have a sectioned off a nice little area with an ocean view for my private party. I was able to choose three entrees to place on the prefix menu. They printed out personalized menus for all the guests. It was a really nice touch. Everyone enjoyed the food and drinks. I especially loved the dessert platter. Each table got their own massive assortment of desserts that including creme brulee, flan, chocolate dipped strawberries, mini slices of chocolate cake and cheesecake.
This is definitely a nice place for a special date or anniversary. You can ask to be seated by the window so you can see amazing views of the sunset. They also have a yummy brunch during weekends.
One star for location and zero stars for the food. Small portions, tasteless, vapid food, and way overpriced. We could not believe how crowded it was for such pitiful food. Why people, would you wait for this food? There has to be much better and more economical food in Laguna Beach.

Meh. I've experienced better. Seriously.
All I ever hear about when asking for a restaurant suggestion from ANYONE in town is that Las Brisas is the place to be. So when my mom came into town, of course I wanted to impress her with the splendor of my little town, and we ended up there.
We wanted to watch the sunset...but realized after sitting down that the view was actually not that great. So much for splendor. The view of the ocean overall is good, but the angle of the sunset makes it difficult to see.
Hoping to make our Happy Hour happy, we asked the server for a menu. "I am your menu," she snapped, and walked away. After asking her several questions about the wine selections, she finally went and got us a menu. Feeling like scolded children, we both put our tails between our legs and vowed that we would never again ask such stupid questions.
The specials were pretty lame. Nothing special. No drink specials. NONE.
I had chicken tacos. Can't screw that up, right? Well, for $10 I expect tacos to be pretty freaking amazing, but these were...meh. I agree with other reviewers that I could have easily gone somewhere else for better food for less. La Sirena, Adolpho's...
I don't think I will go back. Not even for the breakfast/brunch buffet everyone keeps raving about. I'm too nervous to be disappointed again.

This is a great mexican restaurant that features authentic coastal cuisine. It sits beautifully on the coast of Laguna Beach and offers a wonderful variety of Riviera entrees. To secure a fabulous view, I highly recommend reservations.

3.5 Stars. I think this place is way overpriced and the food is just okay. I've been to many hole in the wall places in Santa Ana that were way better than this. I find a hard time to pay so much for Mexican food when I can go down the street for it, pay half the price and have twice the flavor
What is great about this place is the location. Great view outside of Laguna Beach. If you go here, I suggest you go sit outside in the back patio and just have appetizers and drinks. Save a few bucks and have a more enjoyable time.
Parking is a pain in Laguna Beach and especially at this restaurant so do yourself a favor and valet. The last time I came here I was with my boss. He had a real beater car at the time and he was embarrassed to valet it. After driving around and around and coming up empty handed, he finally decided to bite the bullet. He got out of his car and in a cool manner just threw his keys to the valet and said, "Please be careful with her. All the dents on this car came from the last valet here that wasn't careful." The kids face just dropped and let out a big laugh when we finally told him that we were only kidding.

This place gets all five stars.
The location cannot possibly be beat, the food is outstanding and the service is great.
My, oh my.
Let me think. I've had their salmon, their beef, their chicken, a whole host of salads and their creme brulee. All outstanding.
The weather is usually fantastic, so check to see if you can be seated outside. The view of the Pacific is to die for.
Not much else to say other than yes, it's expensive like hell, but well worth it. It's a place to take your mother for her birthday or Mother's Day or something. Wonderful.

We headed to Las Brisas last Sunday (07/12) afternoon for brunch, we hadn't been there for many years and thought it would make a nice change from West Hollywood. Coming down to Laguna on a Sunday afternoon is always an interesting experience, especially as it was scorching hot! Finding parking was a bit of an issue, I really hate valeting my car but eventually found a parking space on Cliff Drive the other side of PCH. We lucked out on getting a patio table after a short wait, we ordered the guacamole to start (which was not too bad and nicely presented) and I ordered the Steak Tacos.
Having recently had the most amazing Tacos I have ever eaten at the Las Brisas Hotel in Acapulco I held out some hope that it's doppleganger (in name only) in Laguna Beach would be somewhat similar. Sadly they weren't. In fact they were some of the poorest blandest tacos I have ever eaten. Gristle packed pieces of steak with a tasteless corn Taco. They were unbelievably poor.
I left most of mine as I had bitten more than one chunk too many of the springy meat. I had finished my diet Coke as I had rapidly washed down what I was eating and asked for another. The waitress then warned me Las Brisas don't do refills and I would have to pay $3 for another drink. Are you kidding me??! I thought I was back living in London for a minute, in almost 7 years living in the States that's the first time I had been refused a Coke refill. Bizarre and quite irritating as I was only drinking it as I was the designated driver (for a change!)
Afterwards I saw there was a BJ's Brewhouse just down the road, I wish I had gone there for their Works Pizza!! I have also eaten at the Greeters Corner restaurant nearby and had a lot better food there.
Do yourself a favour and steer clear, the view ain't that great and the food is mediocre. There are plenty of other options in Laguna, I won't be back here for quite a while! :oD
Why is this a two to three star place now? Because it has mediocre food at best.
It wasn't always this way (and why people use to recommend this place). I remember coming here even a couple of years back and it was pretty good food. Or at least something interesting. I remember being impressed with the (expensive) guacamole when I first came here. Going recently, it reminded me of store bought guac. Desserts were not all well prepared either. Some of the textures that came out of their pastries were amateurish, even a bit sloppy.
If you want to try higher-end Mexican, go to Gabbi's or even Taleo's. Views nice, but don't waste your time with the food.

There are quite a few restaurants along the CA coastline that have great locations and views, but their food is just so lousy and overpriced that it almost seems insulting. Thankfully, Las Brisas wasn't one of them.
My friends and I knew it wasn't going to be the best Mexican around, or the best value, since you pay for the view at places like this. But after enjoying a margarita and the amazing view of the beach at sunset, the food that came afterwards was "good enough". Not tourist-trap disappointing, but good enough, and a nice way to wind down after a day in Laguna.
I kind of wish I was there right now instead of getting ready for work tomorrow....
I think I went here for the wrong reason. I was told that my friends and I were going to eat Mexican food. Las Brisas is NOT Mexican food!! The menu is pretty dull, steak, seafood, tacos. Really?? That's it?! Although, the view is amazing, I wouldn't go back here. I've seen better views and have had better food (for way less than what this place charges!)
Thoughts that ran through my head:
- Why does this menu suck? Why don't they offer carnitas tacos?
- Why did they give us free bread and not chips and salsa (you have to pay for chips and salsa!)
- How is it that our waiter doesn't speak Spanish?
- Why is my chicken dry and bland?
- Did our waiter just say Tapitio wrong???
- Holy crap! This is the MOST EXPENSIVE MEXICAN FOOD I've ever had!
- The only saving grace of the meal is the shredded beef enchiliada. That's it.
Never, never again.

Not a fan. This place was unbelievable like 10 years ago, but has really slid down hill. The view truly is spectacular along the cliffside of Laguna Beach... if you don't mind the smell. I don't know if I just didn't notice it before, but it really wreaks in the outdoor seating area. Our server told us that it was the sewage and it just depends on which way the wind blows. (kinda nasty) Food was on level playing field with El Torrito and Acupulco. It's virtually impossible to get a table on the weekend if you don't have reservations and you're not white. OC has much better to offer.
The best part of this place is the view...it's magnificent. Service was polite and efficient, food was above average. We started with some guacamole, then I had the red snapper while my wife and dad had the mahi mahi. It was all pretty good, nothing too memorable though. Drinks were very strong. Solid place for dining with a view.
Beautiful sweeping views; decent food and tasty drinks, but lunch for four can easily top $200, so beware. Almost nothing vegetarian on the menu, but they will make you a decent salad for around $14. The guacamole appetizer and salsa was liked by everyone in our group.
Service was friendly. It's not the best Mexican you'll ever have, but people seemed satisfied, and if you want ambiance, this is the place everyone recommends. Patio menu is extremely limited, so for full selections dine inside - most of the menu is fish or seafood.
Coming with group of girls always had their own specialty, you get served better and faster :) I bumped this up to 5 star because of their excellent service. We made reservation for 9am, but we're late, so we only arrived by 9.15am and they still appreciated our reservation and our table was ready within 5minutes.
For the first time we got seated by the window overlooking Pacific Ocean. Still a breathtaking view that's for sure and as usual, the buffet menu always wonderful and this is one of the crowdiest Mexican restos with plenty of Asians (especially Korean) in it.
Parking may be sucks, but depending on your luck, you usually will manage to find a spot nearby, or at least within a walking distance. I wish they have their own parking spots. All in all, the view, the taste of food, are one of the best breakfast buffet I ever had!!!

What a breathtaking view with great food, how can you complain? My friends and I come here all the… Read more »
The main reason I come here is the view....-the incredibly beautiful, spectacular ocean view. I was here back in February with my friends after our hike in Laguna Beach. I will post pictures later :)
Ok, so granted, this place isn't economically friendly, it's pricey, but they have good food here, not amazing, but good. The margaritas are good, too, but the portion is small. I'm not a big fan of margaritas anyways, a little too sweet for me-I stick to wine, much classier, lol ;)
Overall, the main reason I give it a 4 star is definitely the location. It's a great date place for sure! Don't come here for happy hour, I don't think they have happy hour prices and they might be too classy for that, but definitely come here with your man/woman or with a date!
