if i lived in the area, this is where i would do all of my stocking up! there were super sales, and i was amazingly able to find many things in my petite size range.
especially notable: bcbg, and banana republic.
I used to think this place sucked, but I went here today and scored!
The item of the day was a black Adidas hoodie with red gold and green stripes for $24. What a steal!
There is a decent selections, and some places have awesome deals! I noticed some had no deals at all. There is definitely a little something for everyone!

There I was watching the kids while the spouse shopped, and I accidentally spill into Adidas store and see Barricade V tennis shoes going for $59.
SAY WHAT? 59? COME AGAIN? For normally $120 pro grade tennis shoes? I was in such a state of shock, I didn't buy them.
3 days later I came to my senses and headed down there just for those shoes, only to find they had jacked the price back up.
AIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.....so unfair.
Most kid-friendly Premium Outlet location. Has climbing structure near Hurley store. On weekends, they have a kids train that runs around the outlets. Pretty cool. On wheels, not track. The Mickey Ds there also has indoor jungle gym.
Otherwise, it's a cookie cutter Premium Outlet, which is not a bad thing. Why mess with a winning formula? Same as Gilroy and Vacaville.
I've been coming here since this place first opened! Back in 2001! The crowds are rediculous! Never do you holiday shopping here on a weekend and don't come after 5pm, you won't find a parking spot even with the huge parking lot that they have! Most of the stores have already been ransacked there are kids screaming and running all over the place. People who just cut in front of you while your in line to pay. I usually just come to the Tilly's store. Its a little more civilized believe it or not! I don't suggest going to Banana Republic or Gap or even worse Old Navy!
New Balance running shoes for sixty dollars (the ones that sell for 120 elsewhere) . . . yes, worth making a trip here
I admit I was slightly scared to come here. It's about as close to a foreign country that I've ever been, but I was pleasantly surprised.
The people who work at the stores are SO nice and SO helpful. I'm not usually a talkative person, but I had full conversations with the folks at Banana Republic, Coach and Aerosoles!
This outlet mall as almost all the same stores that are in Gilroy, but it's smaller and easier to navigate. I walked around with my baby and didn't have to keep loading and unloading the car seat.
It was sort of weird leaving, with all the signs saying Mexico NO USA RETURN. It would be fairly easy to end up in the wrong country if you aren't paying attention.

Now I am in no way a label whore......I like my style to be non-douchey, non-designer logo and certainly none of the Ed Hardy-mass-marketed-so-much-they-now-sell-it-at-Co sto stuff!
We decided to check this place out on a whim. Mind you this was the morning after we went to Barona, so maybe we were still wacked out from all of the strange people we watched belly up to the trough at the buffet. Who knows?
It's easy to find and decently laid out, mall style. We found a front parking spot and started to stroll.
Lots of people shopping, lots of people with no manners! Jay-sus! I was practically shoved aside by the same guy twice in one store. And I was looking at woman's shoes!!
Other stores, same deal! Then came the need for the bathroom....
The singularly worst smelling bathroom ever!! EVER! I thought maybe I went into the men's by mistake.
F-I-L-T-H-Y!!! No paper, some didn't flush and I was afraid to touch anything. I felt so bad for a woman behind me in line as I left, I handed her my package of Kleenex to use. Never go there with a need to pee!
I can't say we will come back....
Plus we didn't actually find what we came looking for.

When we're in San Diego, we normally stop off at Carlsbad Premium Outlets but this time we made a run for the border. Being Memorial Day weekend, we figured there might be some deal and the worst thing that can happen was we enjoyed a day out shopping just the wife and me.
This place has a lot of stores and some pretty decent ones. The stores are larger as well and there's lots of room for parking and walking. I'm a big Tommy Bahama fan so it's nice to find an outlet other than Primm. They also have a pretty large Nike outlet. If you have an extra 30-40 minutes to drive down here instead of Carlsbad, it's worth the trip.

When I'm looking for good deals on clothes, this is the place I go. Nice selection of stores too.
WARNING: LAST USA EXIT!!
That almost scared us from reaching our destination at the outlet. But fear not, we made it and I am glad because we found some awesome deals!
We were here during the 4th of July weekend in the midafternoon. There's plenty of parking. The outlet is NOT GHETTO at all and it's not overwhelming big. So it's quite doable to walk and shop the whole thing in a few hours. There are good stores for the whole family. My favorite is their COACH store. Seems like they have a larger selection than others.
This doesn't have as many stores as the Gilroy Premium Outlet, but I like the convenient layout of this one. Only gripe is, they need more bathrooms throughout the mall. They are mainly located at the center. Had to hit up the bathroom in Starbucks and McDonalds. boo!! Ooo one last thing, all employees at all stores are so friendly and helpful. Almost felt like I left the states.....almost.

it is 9/18/09, and i still love las americas (viva nike!). in fact, i almost never go to any other mall. what's the point? it certainly has all the other outlets in san diego county beat.
the family-run mexican restaurant near las americas is called 'tony's'. great food!!!

Wow, I was impressed. Being so close to TJ you can see the buildings, I expected this place to be ghetto.. it wasn't!
Lots of great deals, plenty of nice stores.. lots of sales!
The "AS SEEN ON TV" store was the biggest I've ever been in.
Seemed like much better deals than other outlet malls I've been to. I guess they need to try extra hard to compete with the TJ street vendors LOL!
Bathrooms were better than expected.. clean, and the TP was better than average quality. There were family bathrooms as well. Very useful as facilities near the border are usually mediocre.
Neiman Marcus last call outlet.. Items at 10 cents on the dollar, need I say more?
Starbucks..food court.. I will hang here while my friends go to the ghetto of TJ.
On a weekday afternoon, it was pretty slow. No crowds to fight, plenty of parking.
EDIT 6/09 CAME BACK ON THE WEEKEND, AND IT WAS MUCH MORE CROWDED! Lots of tourists from south of the border. The wait to cross into the US from Mexico was short, if not shorter than a weekend. Go figure. I haven't seen a line out the door for Wetzels Pretzels in a long time, and maybe never outside downtown Disney!

A great selection of stores - some good deals to be had.
The food court is clean and they have about 6-9 different restaurants to choose from.
There is a large Nike store for your athletic needs and many places to buy clothing from. I went to the Old Navy store for cheap, clearance deals on T-shirts (some were only 3-5 bucks brand new!).
It can be a crazy parking lot experience on the weekends. It can be hard to find a CLOSE spot and there are pedestrians/families and vehicles everywhere. Bring your patience.
The mall is clean and newer and makes for an enjoyable shopping atmosphere.
Tip: if you go to the alleyway east of the food court (there are bathrooms there), and look straight south, you can see the fence that separates Mexico and the United States.
A good value and worth the trip.
I buy so much stuff from this outlet that it officially is my favorite.

WOW! This place is huge, I came here to get some stuff for my daughter and my wife needed some kicks.
This outlet has so many stores it is almost too much, parking can take a while, so be prepared. If I would name all the stores in this review it would go on and on and on, so I don't. Just make your way out here yourself and take a look, you will like what you see and go home with something. Pay attention as you get closer, or you end up at the Mexican border and you would not want that, would you?

Oh yes!!! I am a fan... I'm also a shopper... Getting to this outlet shouldn't be a problem... depending which freeway and route you take.... Amongst entering the parking lot, thats when you gotta be aggressive.... Either kill or be killed... haha... nothing too crazy, just figured I'd say something clever... Just gotta watch out for all the pedestrians crossing the parking lot, and cross walks..... You might even be glad that you've stoppped for that hott mamasita.... ooowwweeee muy caliente!!! The outlet has a variety of stores... Hot topic, gamestop, banana republic, vans, tilly's, pac sun, LIDS, there's more but you just gotta see for yourself... Their food court is aiight... nothing to spectacular.... but if you hungry they got you... if none of this appeals to you, hopefully their prices will... you can leave this place without having to spend an arm and a leg... and for you ladies they've got a nice Coach place thingy...

Do you like to shop? Shop 'til you drop? Shopaholic?
Well, I am not but I did want a few new things to wear so I am not rotating the same 5 outfits.
This is pretty good outlet mall but I would say it is more like a mall mall, than an outlet mall. Why, you may ask? Well, the deals aren't THAT great!
I do come here to shop though hoping that there WILL be good deals.
They have some pretty good stores, Lucky, Converse, GAP, Old Navy, Active, Puma, Nike, Tilly's and many more.
But again, I don't really seem to spend any less here than if I were to go to these same stores in Fashion Valley or Horton Plaza. I am just wasting gas to go to yet another mall.
It is pretty cool that TJ is literally over the fence in the back of the mall.
Maybe I should just stick to Target.

My bro brought our family here when we visited him in SD, because I wanted to do a bit of shopping. The exit is the last one right before you hit the border, so avoid all signs that say MEXICO.
I wasn't expecting too much, and was wondering why they would build a mall so close to the border that you can basically see the wall that divides the two countries from the parking lot.
Overall, a decent-sized mall, although I did notice one thing and that most of the cashiers in the stores were freakin' SLOW. In Ann Taylor, I waited in line for a few minutes and the woman was sort of helping the person in front of me, but really just talking to another associate. I just dumped the stuff I had in my hand and left.
About half the sales people I dealt with took their sweet old time. Half the time, I couldn't tell if they were working there or what. It felt like I was in Mexico already since I think I only saw 10 other Asian people there and 99% of the patrons spoke Spanish. I bet if I went to that outlet a lot more, I would be able to brush up and get back those four years of high-school Espanol right quick.
Overall, a good mall because they have a good range of stores, and it was pretty easy to find parking. Bro says that it's never really all that crowded, prices weren't outrageously cheap, but they did have a good selection of inventory in each one. Would probably go back again on another trip to SD if I wanted to buy random stuff, but not look for anything in particular.

I love it.
As expected, many stores to choose from with outdated styles that are still wearable
but I swear for an outlet store, the majority of the things are still expensive (but hey, still gotta milk it, right?)
I recommend due to the number of stores and the bargains you find in them. Shop on!

Either I'm hella cheap or I didn't bring enough money because everything was still expensive! I feel as though the people that shop here are well to do already so a deal for them is a steal for me, as in I'm better off stealing the product because I won't be able to afford it. I was pretty much drooling at BCBG and just window shopping so I can save my money for the CCO which was the main event for me. I must admit BCBG had some good deals on purses, there was one for about $150 and original price must've been $300-$500.
The CCO didn't have that many good deals. I bought a 1 oz. Missoni perfume for $36, sounds like Sephora prices. I probably saved $2. I also bought a MAC blush for $12.25, which is about $4 off. The deals are not that sweet. It's more of "a shopping for discontinued items that you don't find in the stores anymore" kind of deal. CCO carries all products that are owned by Estee Lauder (yes Estee Lauder owns MAC).
My highlight of the outlet trip was the pair of Marc Jacobs sunglasses I found in the Neiman Marcus outlet store. If you're ballin out of control and have cash fallin out of your ass, it's okay to buy a Theory halter top for $80, such is not the case with me. I got sad after browsing a few racks because I was reminded about how poor I really am. I meandered over to the purses, still too expensive. Found the sunglasses section, there is bound to be something cute and affordable for me here. Ta-da! Hella cute sunglasses for $90, used to be $290. I was contemplating the price for a while but the fact that I couldn't take them off my face meant, just buy the damn sunglasses.
The Nike outlet offered some good deals on workout essentials.
My poor boyfriend was unable to find anything in his size. He feels as though the clothes carried in outlet stores are catered to one size which was also reflected in the patrons that day, irregular ass mofo's.
Set aside a couple of hours for this place.

My cousins were visiting out of town and we've taken them here a few times and they wanted to go this past weekend. Everytime I go here, its crowded. I hate crowds. I feel like an old lady at times! LOL. But parking sucks. People can't drive. People are rude. And they always speak Spanish to me! Sometimes I even ask an employee for help and they don't speak English. Whats up with that? Then again, its located at the last US exit before the border.
Regarding the stores, I like this outlet better than some of the others I've been to. I like Old Navy, Hurley, Converse, Coach, Pac Sun, Billabong, Disney and like maybe 2 other stores which I cant think of.... LOL. But like most people posted, there isn't much deals. It's not really "outlet" prices. I only go here maybe 4 times a year now.

Ugh, I hate outlet malls. Maybe it's because I don't like spending money on last seasons throwaways (coach, neiman marcus) or XXL (old navy, banana republic). Maybe it's the fact that this place is so close to the border that I feel like I'm already in Mexico. Or maybe it's that I'm a snob.
Oh well, this place is too much. And too much of nothing good.

Las Americas would be perfect for all shopaholics if it was centrally located. This mall has an impressive list of stores and since it is an outlet you can definitely get great deals (especially when you know someone who works in the shops you like). Personally, I like to frequent Guess and American Eagle as this location tends to have more of my size in stock.
The best time to visit Las Americas is during the day. The place is barren except of course during the holidays (then it doesn't matter what time of day you go). The shops are also open for extended hours during the holidays. At times, the parking situation might make you want to commit murder but, to avoid the stress all together I recommend parking farther and wearing comfortable shoes.

I couldnt believe how big this outlet was! It was a very long drive from our hotel, (last exit before mexico) and it was well worth the drive. We parked in the back, not knowing where the main entrance is and the mexico borderline was right there! It was kinda cool watching the border patrol walking back and forth, we were hoping for some action!
Anyway, las americas is sooo beautiful! I felt like i was in Spain or something. There was so many stores throughout the huge outlet, and we discovered a whole lot more along our adventure. They had a hot topic outlet and i got me a hello kitty hoodie for 7 bucks!! original price was $40. If my family wasnt with me, i would of shopped my ass off forrealz! Oh, and the restrooms are pretty too!!!
PROS: Nicely decorated, great selection of stores, outdoors, plenty of parking, deals deals deals!
NEGS: Distance (near border), outdoors, can be a shady area at night, expensive and limited food court.
A great outlet mall for some weekend afternoon shopping.

PAY ATTENTION! you're one stop away from being forced to buy chicklets.
This place is not a premium outlet. It feels like an outdoor swapmeet in Gardena. One side of the outlet, you can see the barbed fence that separates Mexico and California. Really not my idea of shopping.

Maybe a 4.25- I'd go higher, but their food court SUCKS (Subway, some wack Italian joint, and steak escape something or another)
I love me some outlets. More specifically, I love me some outlet prices. I made the new year's resolution to spoil myself at least once a month (I'm pretty "frugal" with my cash flow), and when it comes to shopping, this is the place I usually indulge.
This place has lots of my favorites- Puma, Adidas, Skechers, along with some nicer places like Banana, J Crew, Polo, etc... They even have a Coach outlet which my wife loves, though I dont' know what all the fuss is about.
And it doesnt seem to matter when you come here, there seems to be a sale going on any given day of the year. "Today, it's our 2nd Tuesday in July sale" or "X-mas in April sale." At these prices, it's really hard to say no.
This place gets packed on the weekends and holidays, so plan wisely. As far as parking goes, park in the back (behind Nike). That is usually an untapped lot, and gives you easy access to the back row of stores. Only real complaint about this place is getting back on the highway after shopping here. This is probably my favorite outlet in all of So Cal. Certainly worth checking out.

I only made it through half of the stores on my outing out there, but from what I've seen so far, I'm a fan!
I got some great deals at the Banana Republic, GAP, and J.Crew outlets. My friend spend a good amount of time at the Kenneth Cole.
Everything seemed pretty clean and in order. I'll be back!

Gawd, I just HATE this place! This place was really created by the devil, to make you spend all your money. Without a doubt, I always end up spending oodles more money, than expected.
But, what can I say? The devil made me do it!!
Nothing like scoring a pair of new kicks. Or, how about a cute new outfit or two or, uhm, five....? My favorite stores include Nike, Coach, BCBG, Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic, Charlotte Russe's, Forever21, Nine West and J Crew. (Now you know where you can buy me my birthday presents!) =P
You can always expect to find some sort of sale going on. I always find deals on items more than 50% off. How can I say no to that? Besides, buying items on sale just means you can buy MORE! YAY! *happy dance*
If you ever plan on visiting the outlet, plan on showing up early to get a good parking spot. By the time noon rolls around, it's just madness! Expect crazy drivers and shoppers, as well. Heck, they want good deals, too. Oh yeah, and if you happen to find the last item of anything and have a remote interest in it, do NOT put it down, until you're absolutely sure you don't want it! Someone might come in and scoop it up. I lost many a cute purse or blouse like that. *grrrrr*
Mmmmm..me love shopping lots. Today was a good shopping day.

Great outlet mall. You find waaaay better deals here than the outlets in Carlsbad. Great selection of stores and its not as insanely busy as other outlet malls which is a huge plus. Its clean and spacious. The fact that its located right at the border and you can see the huge mexican flag waving shouldn't deter you from going here. The deals and selections are worth it. I live in mira mesa and its only about 40 minutes away. The drive isn't that bad at all.
Tips -
Don't eat in the food court. Its crap food at crap prices. There is no redeeming food stand there.
Eat at Achiotes restaurant for an authentic homestyle mexican meal
Plan to spend at least 3 hours if you want to get in a good shopping experience.
Avoid driving down there in the weekdays at around five during rush hour. If you do, then take the 15 south.

When gas was cheap, we'd drive all the way down here for a great deal on popular shopping mall merchandise.... at near swap meet prices.
When we want to get a good, authentic Mexican "Danger Dog" hot dog... we'd climb over the "Fence" behind the parking lot.

Not bad, not bad at all, San Ysidro.
Even though it's probably raising the rent for housing in this area ever since Las Americas opened, it's pretty much worth it.
There's a decent enough selection of clothing stores (Pac Sun, AE, Tilly's) and they also have a bunch of stores with outlet pricing. It's one reason I can be glad I live in this part of town.
During big sale days, it can be pretty annoying though. It gets crowded full of rude and shovey people trying to get their hands on everything.
The food court isn't so great either, but how many malls have one that is?
I think the other outlet is in Carlsbad or something, but I've never been there so I wouldn't be able to compare which is better.
But even if I lived further up north, I still think it would be worth the trip to travel on down here for gift shopping or just shopping for yourself.
You just can't beat these prices for stores you'd usually find in the mall.

Before you visit download the booklet coupon (link attached)
I just went last week and can't wait to go back. Every store imaginable. Not overly crowded, shops beautifully displayed and parking is no hassle. I can't believe I never went here before.
Some of the standouts were:
Bebe Outlet - Could not believe they had a shirt I had bought for half the price in Horton Plaza.
Old Navy Outlet - Clothes galore and store is much bigger than the one in Mission Valley.
Disney Outlet - I don't think I will ever buy again at The Disney Stores in the mall.
I was told about the coupon book listed below by one of the shop owners so maybe one of you can use it.
http://www.sandiegan.c...
You can definitely make a day of it so remember there is a food court in the middle of the outlet.
Have Fun!

I don't know why I love this place, well, other than all the little doors you can go through that lead to all the racks of clothing and shoes that I can have placed in bags and all I have to do is hand over a little plastic card I keep in my wallet.
Gap, Banana Republic, Coach, Nike, Levi's, Aerosoles, Naturalizers, Bass, and the Marshall's across the street, plus the Iron Wok. Not to mention that it only takes about 5 minutes to get there from my house.

I much prefer this outlet mall to Carlsbad. For some reason, they always have a better selection, better even than the regular stores in the mall. As some other reviewers have mentioned, it's a great place to come for basics and work clothes. I spent entirely too much $$ in Banana Republic and J Crew so that I can dress for success in London, but that's better than spending too much ££.

excues my spanish. I DO NOT SPEAK SPANISH.
I don't care if I look like I do. I do not understand Spanish.
I HATE THIS MALL.
Granted, I did work here for three years. And Oh how I tried to go to a different store. Plaza Bonita. Mission Valley. EVEN ESCONDIDO. But no. LAS AMERICAS was the location I worked at.
Little kids would throw things at me. They yell at their mothers.
The mall smells funny. AND IT'S AN OUTDOOR MALL.
AND NO. WE DO NOT ACCEPT PESOS.
So don't get mad at me because I don't speak your language. I'm not the one who chose to come here.
As for the shopping in this mall. It kind of sucks, to be honest. The Last Call has a pretty shabby selection--you may find several Marc Jacobs bags, but they aren't cute. Maybe a few Theory pieces. But they're ugly. Coach outlet is okay. A lot of items exclusive to the outlet stores and obvious at that, and some older items that are distinctively Coach. Food court is disgusting. Liz Claiborn outlet if you like that kind of thing. Several shoe stores--don't usually find much and they don't change their inventory too often. Eh. I'd rather drive up to Carlsbad.

If gas wasn't so expensive I'd make my 25-30 minute drive down here to shop.
I have an eye for sales so I don't really like getting stuff original price. There are a lot of good stores here so spend wisely!
Oh and the food court kinda sucks so you might wanna grab some food at Tacos El Gordo, which is about 10 minutes away =)

When ever in San Diego I always make a stop at Las America's.
There are so many shops you'll find what you're looking for and even things you didn't know you were looking for. Like someone else mention since it's right on the boarder some of the sales may not speak English very well but that's OK the deals are too good to pass up.
The Coach store is of course my favorite and I always find something I just can't live without. Two other stores I enjoy are the Disney Outlet store which I believe is the only Disney outlet store out there and the Bath & Body Works store one can never have too many lotions or body sprays nope you sure can't.
The worst thing is the bathrooms, so GROSS if I wasn't about to pee my pants I would have walked right out. If you plan a day of shopping bring a potapotty with you stay far, far away from their ladies room.

Las Americas is a dangerous place. It's the kind of place where you throw logic out the window and decide that you need another dress that you already have, but in a different color and random kitchen gadgets that you may or may not already own because they are cheap. Spend money to save money! I just spent $70, but I saved 120%! Yay, take my money. It's mathematical logic that only makes sense when you are swept up in outlet mall euphoria. I love it, but try to avoid it as much as possible, because I could go into some serious debt if I bought every bargain that crossed my path here.
Las Americas has a lot of great stores - Gap, Banana, Old Navy, J Crew for basics; Max Studio if I need a dress for someone's wedding; Bombay Company has cool furniture for sooo much less than their regular stores. There are bathrooms a plenty. Sure the food options are not as appealing as Carlsbad, but that's okay, less distraction from the real purpose of being here - shopping!
When faced with the decision of Carlsbad Company Stores or Las Americas, consider Las Americas if you live in central San Diego. It's only a 15 minute drive from downtown and you can even take the trolley!
