This is an O-kay place to stay.  The rooms are clean and the continental breakfast is okay.  The lobby in much nicer than you would expect for a hotel of this price and that's about it for this place.

The hot tube has no ambiance but it did work.

This is a place to sleep when you are traveling but not a place to relax in for a few days.

The Larkspur is a decent hotel that just barely hits three stars. It's a little dirty around the edges, but certainly acceptable.

The tiny hot tub is a hillbilly magnet and I pity anyone with a window facing it. The "tub" is tightly sandwiched between the parking lot and the hotel wall. Sounds coming from it thoughtfully paint the entire side of the hotel.

No need for a textured ceiling as there are significant amounts of plastic fire sensors and strobe lights above and around. Well, it's safe. I know it all works as the fire alarms went off my first night. I thought I was having a flash back to my college rave days, but alas, no smell of burning hotel or hashish.

The bed is comfortable and there is free wi-fi. The sharper image -style alarm clock makes pleasant sounds and is easy to program. The hotel is close to a major street, but not much traffic noise.

I stay at the Larkspur frequently due to corporate travel budget cuts. I could be doing a lot worse, considering.

Update: Bugs...(Rico, nuke 'em!)

i was a little apprehensive about the hotel but it was actually not bad!  the featherborne bed was quite nice.  so many pillows i remember i counted six of them.   free wi-fi. complimentary continental breakfast in the mornings and lather toiletries!

service was great and friendly.  there's even a pet friendly suite-like room for the pet lovahs out there.

the location is great.  minutes within businesses, retail stores, restaurants and it's actually across the way from tommy t's - the comedy club.

not too bad for pleasanton eh?
