I was really looking forward to giving this hotel high marks, but....
DVD player was not hooked up to the TV (no cables) - and we had picked out some good movies at the front desk too :( poo!
3 out of 5 vending machines were out of service
No room service (which sucked because the only food in the building was in the vending machines... which were out of service!)
We could here the baby/toddler/kid upstairs running back and forth early in the morning..... ugh.
$75 pet fee is a bit steep.
Overall, the hotel itself is nice and clean. The suite that we had was spacious, had flat screen TVs and comfortable furniture. The front desk guy, Kevin, was nice. There is also complimentary WiFi so that was cool. The continental breakfast had some pretty good choices too: boiled eggs, strabucks coffee, bagels, muffins, yogurt, assorted juices, fruit, cereal, and oatmeal.
Oh - There is a Jack in the Box right next door. ;)

I stayed at the Larkspur for the first few months while in the San Jose area. The hotel is beautiful. As stated before, it is very close to Santana Row and other shopping malls and stores. The interior of the hotel is very clean, the staff is great and the rooms are perfect with a full kitchen (just missing an oven, but it has a stove top). The only reason they didn't get a 5 was because of a billing issue, but that was resolved by management. If you are looking for a short term stay that is clean and worth it, then this is a worthy place to stay.
I have enjoyed my various stays at this hotel. It is good for business or pleasure...not far from Santana Row.
