I LOVE MEXICAN FOOD!
With that said, this place does a good job of satisfying my hunger. The place is clean and the staff and owners are supper friendly. We often start the evening off at the bar before moving to a table. Good adult vibe with nice flat screen TV's. Bar is separate from main dining room. You can escape the random screaming kid in the dining room if needed. The bar tender and the waiters talk with you while they are waiting on drink service. Very friendly and entertaining.
The owners son works the floor as well. Very nice outstanding young man.
The décor is VERY dated and is bad need of redo. Get away from the tacky old Mexican décor and get with the times.
I enjoy their chili paplano and street style taco's with soft corn shells (pretty authentic for Georgia). My wife loves their carnitas.
Drinks are big and strong and the food helpings are large as well. However, this place is expensive for what it offers. Suggest at least 20% reduction in price across the menu/bar to be competitive with the other 50 or so Mexican restaurants in town.
PROS: Great owners and friendly staff. Food and drink are good portions. TV's in the bar area.
CONS: Menu needs some revamping. More focus on key dishes. Food/Drinks are a little overpriced.
This is a great place. However a little remodeling and work on the menu can set this place apart from the competition. -

This is the second Laredo's location I've been to (not sure how many of them are out there) but everything is basically the same -- great food, amazing service, and all at a good price. I'm pretty sure they have the best salsa on earth! Haha.

Okay...so really, I'd give this place a 3 1/2 stars, but of course that's not an option. Went to Laredo's for the first time this past Wednesday. I was a little bit hesitant about trying this place, because it really seems like "Mexican" restaurants in ATL are a dime a dozen. However, we were meeting another couple and thought we'd give it a try.
It's located in the Publix shopping center at Old 41 and Barrett Pkwy, which can be a bit difficult (traffic-wise) to get to depending on which direction you're coming from. There seems to have been ample parking since it's a shared lot with Publix and the other adjacent shops.
They do have some drink specials on Wednesdays - $2.50 Bud & Bud Light 32 oz. and $4.50 Dos Equis 32 oz. frosty mugs. So, I can certainly appreciate the value as not enough restaurants have decent drink specials here.
To the food...I had the Laredo Quesadilla with Fajita Chicken ($9.00). The quesadilla was good, but a little bit expensive at $9.00. It included some guacamole, sour cream, and pico de gallo served on a Romaine lettuce strip, but unfortunately there wasn't really enough for the entire quesadilla. I originally came into it thinking that I wanted a Chile Relleno and something to go with it, but strangely it wasn't offered on the menu.
And to comment on the chips and salsa. The chips were average or maybe even sub par. The salsa was decent and it has lots of cilantro in it, so you've got to be a fan of that to enjoy it. The service was fine, just average...not bad...not great. We got there at 5:30pm and it wasn't ever really crowded, which was nice. All in all...I'd go back, but it's food lacks something to be desired. -

Huge Fan!
Found this place after a little hike at Kennesaw mountain. Sat outside on a patio, got some sun, my food came really quickly, the service was great, the margaritas were amazing, the food was very good and large portions (I took some of it home), and the bill was crazy cheap.
I don't know how you can improve on that model. :) -

Loved their salsa, so thought the rest of the meal would be as good. But it was just blah. I had a Burritto Especial, but there wasn't anything especial about it. It was probably the most bland tasting burritto I've ever had.
Service was very quick and efficient.
I've heard they have good margaritas, so maybe I'll go back there for a liquid lunch... -

Fajita Steak and Chicken Nachos are my fav. Never too crowded to just walk right in and sit. Fast service and very friendly.

I love Laredo's and it is consistently good. The queso is some of the best I have ever had, if not best. You can order several varieties of it which I have, and all of them are good. Plain, or with chorizo sausage or with shrimp, sausage, etc....all good. The chicken soup there is my favorite but the quesadillas, tacos, salads are all wonderful, too.
Service is usually top notch. If they are super crowded you may have to flag down the wait staff but most of the time they are highly attentive.
You won't be disappointed with your Mexican food here at Laredo's. The place is also very clean. Not a hole in the wall type place but decorated very nicely and small enough to be cozy. -
