As far as I am concerned, this is the only Thai place in the Everett area. Here are just some highlights:

-reasonably priced
-seasoning is very balanced
-lots of vegetarian options
-wonderful staff that always remembers us
-fantastic curries
-delish fried bananas
-big comfy booths
-beautiful decor

I really hesitate to tell anyone that it's worth the drive to Everett just for Thai food. But this might, just might, be the exception.
My favorite items:
Tod Mun
Tom Ka
Panang Curry
Garlic chicken
Special Noodles
Lemongrass Chicken
Chicken Satay

This is a very classy establishment surprisingly, for the area. And the service has usually been fairly good and attentive.

Since Seattle has the highest Thai restaurant per capita of any major city outside of Bangkok, you can definitely do better... Probably right down the block from you.

Not saying anything new here, but the portions were smallish, the wait service was spotty, and my two star heat level would have been 3+ anywhere else.   I overheard the people at the next table saying the same thing to the waiter about the spice, and watched them get the same apathetic response when I complained about the wait for my food.

There has only been two Thai places that I have been able to regularly eat at, and I'm pleased to say that one of them is Lanna Thai (which is thankfully close to my house!).
So often, I go into a Thai restaurant and order my favorite, chicken Phad Thai, and it comes very greasey and irritating to my stomach. The food at this establishment is absolutely superb, I've never had a bad experience.
My favorite item to order is the Vegetarian Spring Rolls as an appetizer and Chicken Phad Thai. The food is good enough that I have picked it up on two occasions to bring with me to meet a friend for lunch.
The only thing keeping me from giving them 5 stars is that their items are priced slightly higher than others. There are other places nearby that offer the same food for less money; however, I am more than happy to pay the extra for the better food. If the prices were lower, I probably would just go more often.

This is far and above the best Thai food in Everett. It is worth a longer than average drive. Here's why:

Lunch: bring your whole office. This is great standard Asian fare with soup, spring roll and a great variety of lunch specials from which to choose.

Dinner: for this atmosphere, service, and quality you would pay at least double. The management is personable and friendly. It's obvious they want you to enjoy your meal. Curries, Pad Thai, Rama meals-- all excellent here.

Lanna Thai has excellent interior design, excellent service, excellent food, and relatively high prices. The prices used to be somewhat augmented by a five dollar off Valpak coupon we would use, but it appears that they discontinued that promotion - check out Valpak online before you go because it might be up an running then. We have been to Lanna Thai 20+ times in the last three years.

Again, when I find a dish I like I rarely waver so I can say with confidence that the Panang Curry chicken is great and the Fried Ice Cream is a delicious dessert. Second hand, I can say that every person I know that has eaten there loved the food.

I'd like to give Lanna Thai four stars, but at a nearby Thai restaurant - Zab Thai (review soon to come) - we found Panang Curry Chicken that is as good, and atmosphere that is comparable, fried ice cream that is okay, and prices that are much lower especially after their 1/2 off dinner entree coupon from Valpak.

I would give this five stars if the strip mall that the restaurant is in was a but nicer... which is fairly judgmental, but aesthetics are important.  As soon as you walk in the Lanna Thai the scenery totally changes and you do feel swept away to outside of the Everett area.

The food is wonderful and the menu is vast.  Some previous reviewers have mentioned that the spice is hard to control here, and I have to disagree.  I'm pregnant and often order my food with no spice and have never had an issue.  I believe the prices to be similar to other Thai restaurants in the area, but find lunch to be the best deal.  Lunch is served with a small finger appetizer, soup, your chosen entree, and a smile bite of ice-cream with a sugar cookie.

I love it when restaurants have their menu on line so that I can peruse before I venture out and Lanna Thai is online(with pictures of each dish!).  http://www.lannathaiev...

I've been to Lanna Thai several times for lunch and have always found the quality of food and service to be great.

The prices for lunch are also very fair and the portions are reasonable. The decor is surprisingly nice for such a location and I've always enjoyed the artwork, etc.

I do agree with a few of the other reviewers that the level of heat in the food can be a bit unpredictable. Sometimes a 2 is like a 4, sometimes it's the other way around. I haven't quite nailed picking a good number that I was happy with come mealtime.

I've had almost everything on the lunch menu and have enjoyed it all. However, I am not a huge fan of their Pud Thai that comes with most meals. I'll eat it, but I'm reluctant to box up the leftovers. But I do recommend the Fried Banana for dessert!

All in all, a quick place for a good and cheap Thai lunch.

Lana Thai used to be one of my favorite Thai places, that is until the portions became half the size that they were previously and the prices sky rocketed. The quality of the food has also gone down, the waitresses are bitchy, and the spiciness is totally unpredictable. One time you can order 2 stars and have your mouth be on fire and the next time order 5 stars and have it be totally bland. I've found some much more appealing Thai places in the area. Despite Lana Thai's nice decorating, it's still not worth it.

If I didn't know better, I would place this Thai restaurant in Wallingford or somewhere closer to Seattle. I say this because it's good and VERY nice inside and out.

Not sure who goes there from Everett though, the city seems to be chalk full of meat and potato eaters but now apparently Thai eaters too.

I had the coconut soup (a little too tart for me) and the Pad Se Ew (a lot too hot), both were decent. If the spice and tartness had been a little more balanced, I'd say we have another fine Thai contender. For some reason 2 stars is more like 3 or 4 here, so keep that in mind folks.

The decor is fab, they clearly spent a TON of money on a TON of details. Check it out...if you find yourself too far north and nowhere to eat.

I've spent a fair amount of time in Lynnwood over the past year and a half or so and have had to get creative in order to find decent places to eat. This is by far my favorite Thai restaurant in the area.

It is located in a strip mall and you do have to drive past a few actual strip joints to get there, but the inside is beautifully decorated. Sometimes they have live music which adds to the ambiance. Service is always friendly and fast and I've never ordered anything I wasn't happy with.

Clean atmosphere
Pleasant and attentive service
Portions on the small side for price

Pad se ew-good flavor. Standard american thai flavor

Royal sweet and sour with chicken-too many veggies. Not enough chicken for the price

Panang curry beef- stringy beef. Felt pre cook. Good flavor. Good sweetness/fire balance

For american thai food this place is pretty good and will most likely satisfy your thai craving. My above impressions are during and after the meal so i would be fresh with my impressions. I wasnt expecting great food after reading previous reviews which made my dinner probably more enjoyable :) I give this a solid 3 stars for the experience, but there is room to grow here if they want to capture the true thai food lover.

its worth your time, but dont expect your taste buds to explode with a lifelong thai food tasting experience

Four stars for food flavor and selection.  Two stars for price and portion size.

Good tasting food but I agree with some of the other reviewers the size of the portions are a bit under sized for the price.  In their defense I will say in my opinion Thai restaurants rarely serve up ample portions, they just give you more rice.  This is not usually how it is in Chinese restaurants and I think most Americans are used to HUGE portions for little price.

Aside from all that, I think the food is outstanding.  My wife and I have visited several times and have also bought out of town family to this place and have NEVER gotten a bad meal.  Start off with their appetizer "tower", stuffed chicken wings, seared tuna, and fried calamari, each is served with its own unique sauce and each has a distinct favor and texture to be fully enjoyed.   Must save some room for the coconut ice cream, I not a huge fan of coconut anything but this stuff ROCKS!

Plenty of parking and a very inviting atmosphere inside.  We went recently for my wife's birthday, I asked the waiter if he could put a candle in my wife's coconut ice cream, he was very nice to do that, on top of that he and the manager came over and sang happy birthday to my wife.  And to top it all off they took our picture and printed it out a top quality photo printer to give us along with the free ice cream!!  It was a very nice touch to our evening.

I've been here several times for lunch.  It's nice inside and it has a huge parking lot right in front.

Normal fare and I agree with Gavin.  The level of heat in the food, regardless of what you ask for, can be a bit unpredictable.  But, it's all pretty tasty.  I usually stick with the curries and have only been there for lunches.

Prices are reasonable and you can get in and out quickly for lunch.   Service is quick and helpful.  Not sure about dinners.

YELP reviewers.. led me to and proved correct on the food-quality..Used to driving to Seattle for quality THAI, one mentioned local(it's EVERETT!), we then mutually agreed that FIVE stars BUT probably due to locational-bias...

I LOVE HOT FOOD...I should have got 4-spice(4 / 4 ) rather than 3 / 4.

My complaint is that with the price, I should have had a bunch of remains to take home.... like in typical Thai places. Hence 3-Star...

One wouldn't expect to find such a nice restaurant in a dingy strip mall area. The few times my husband and I ate here we were always greeted with warm smiles. The waiters/waitresses are well groomed and dressed Thai style. The decore is lovely, one would think you're dining at a super expensive restaurant in the middle of Seattle, or San Francisco. The food has always been really good. They have coupons all the time in the coupon envelope that arrives in the mail. And I belive they do take out orders.

It's is a bit expensive, but the food is really good. And you don't save much if doing take out. (Use the coupons and save on one entree!)

I only went to Lanna Thai years ago, but is was by far the worst Thai food I have ever tasted.  Yes, it had lots of flavor, but it was terrible.  After trying everyone's dish on the table, there was nothing that I liked.  And I thought the prices were too high and the portions low.

I guess this is an unfair review since I haven't gone there recently.  I just wanted to let everyone know that I did not enjoy my experience since it seems to get high marks.

I bought my boyfriend a Passport Unlimted card for chirstmas and Lanna Thai is one of the participating restaurants. I had my CRV in the shop up at Klein Honda and needed to pick it up last night, hence the perfect opportunity to try Lanna Thai, located just down the street. I took my friend Emily and we left both extremely happy and satisfied with out dining experience! The decor is great- thai with a modern twist.  The ceiling is high and the lighting had an almost industrial feel to it.  We immediately decided to split the Fresh Spring rolls, a little pricey i thought and pretty standard. The peanut sauce was a little more syrupy than i prefer, but nevertheless very tasty. I ordered my favorite Green Curry and she had the Yellow. I was extremely happy with my curry. The flavor and heat was spot on. The best thing about it was the eggplant, peas, peppers, basil, and lychee fruit that were swimming in the flavorful green sauce. Emily enjoyed her yellow curry as well. We shared a delicious pot of jasmine tea, which they complimentary refilled for us.  They didn't offer any sweetener for it, but I always carry equal packets in my purse wherever I go. I know I'm a nut, but instances like last night is exactly why I do it.. Ok back to our meal.....We decided to try the black sticky rice for dessert and told the waiter we wanted to share. They very kindly split our dessert into two small indiviudual cups-perfection!!! It was most delicious with a lychee fruit on top of each. The thickened coconut milk on top had a saltiness that balanced the bottom layer of sweet thick sticky rice perfectly. I craved more of it as i drove home full and extremely happy to find my new favorite Thai spot.

***Update: Took my boyfriend here on 2/23/08. Our service sucked! But I liked my food.  My Pad Thai wasn't the best I've ever had but it was standard. Sadler got the sweet n sour chicken and it was ok. Not a lot of chicken, lots of vegatables. The chicken was on the healthier side-steamed, and the sauce was more of a sweet tomato-ey, than a sweet n sour. He ate all his food (minus the veggies) and made me stop for some chicken sandwiches from kfc lol. I'd say stick with the curry there, that was spot on the last time. Still, can't beat the price with the passport card, however there's no excuse for our waitress, who kept ignoring us and walking past our table the whole time!

I've gone to Lanna Thai on several occasions being that I work right near by. First off here is my qualifications: I'm part thai, with my mom growing up in Thailand, and having been there several times. I hope I have a general idea of what is considered good and bad thai food.
Lanna thai is very nice inside, the service is friendly (although you might have to flag them down during busy lunch times), the food is good, and the most importantly the food is brought to you very fast.
The downside to all this is: The price is a little higher than you should pay for the quality of food (it's good, but not worth what you pay). or at least the serving size you get just does not justify the cost.
Lastly when asked 1-4 star, i've gotten pretty mixed versions of 4 star (for most hot). Sometimes being pretty spicy, and other times being non existent. Your best bet is to order a 3 star, and ask for peppers on the side (in case you need it).  Anyway a good place to eat, especially for lunch. i highly suggest the lunch combo, wish they would increase their serving sizes.

This is one of the first places we ate at when we moved here and it's still where we come for someplace "special" or comforting.  The yellow curry especially takes me to someplace warm and fuzzy from my childhood, which is odd since this is the first place I had it!

The decor is beautiful and parking is bountiful.  The service has always been so wonderful that it feels more like visiting with friends.  They even remember our ordering peculiarities like spiciness and food allergies.

Hands down my favorite Thai food in WA.  Even worth the hour drive from my house!  Try the Crying tiger salad (cold beef salad that's kinda vinegary, it's an aquired taste, but soooo good!)  Never eaten anything I didn't like here and I've even branched out from my usual tofu pad thai!  Very tasty!

Our favorite Thai food that's within easy driving distance. The food seems to have gotten even better lately. This place is definitely a hidden treasure. Tucked in an ugly strip mall across from a car dealership, it's unassuming surroundings don't do the food justice. Reasonably priced and very tasty. I'd recommend the Pud Woo Sen.
