They make a decent breakfast. But I come here mainly because it is within walking distance from my cottage, or when I'm too lazy to drive to Whiteheads or Randy's Country Kitchen in Houghton Lake.

On Higgins Lake.
When you are "up north", you are stuck with very limited selection for eating out (and other amenities).
This place is small (usually not a problem), and has decent tasting food. BUT, you may want to ignore that they use the Sam's Choice creamer from Walmart (with the price sticker still on it) or the pancake syrup from Save-A-Lot.. ignore that they are a CASH ONLY establishment (and there are no ATMs nearby). ignoring those (amongst others) and ignoring that basically they are the only game in town (aside from one other place which is five miles down the road and operates much the same way), it's generally not that bad. just don't expect much (we didn't, but we are used to being "up north"). the people are friendly, the prices are fair, the selection is minimal, and the service is decent.
i would say 3 stars is fair but since they are CASH ONLY and do not make any note of that (anywhere!) at all until your meal is complete, they definitely lose a star for that. so 2 stars it is.
