This is one of the best places to stay in Half Moon Bay.

Awesome view, nice fireplace, heated floors, built-in jacuzzi, really cool shower, nice bed, and good food.

Not cheap, but worth the price.

My wife and I spent 2 nights in the Bordeaux room. They were having a special during the week which was buy 1 night, get 1 night 1/2 price. This made it more affordable seeing how its a bit expensive.

The Bordeaux was the most expensive room and I must say I
expected it to be a bit bigger for the price. The bed was comfy, and the whirlpool tub was nice(but also a bit small). Luckily the balcony (also tiny....I'm starting to sense a theme there) offered an AMAZING view! Full panoramic of the beach/ocean. The room came equipped with binoculars which was good because we spotted a couple seals and some porpoises. The sunset is great, and if you manage to get a perfect, clear night, sitting on the beach and watching it go down is the way to go.

Breakfast in bed is always nice, and the food was pretty good. First morning we had apple cinnamon french toast which was alright, however it could have been firmer. Also sausage, fruit, o.j., coffee. Second morning was gouda/spinach quiche Lorraine. Now we're talking. This is more like it!

Evening wine and apps. time was a nice touch with 3 types of wine (white, rose, red) and a decent spread of cheese, fruit, etc.

All in all this place was nice. The staff was friendly (even if their wine vineyard info. was dated and inaccurate) and the location was good. If you're looking for a quiet place to spend a couple days winding down this might be your kind of place. But you'd better be prepared to shell out a good deal of dough.  I'd give this place a 3.5 rating is there was an option.

This review written  by my boyfriend.....My gal surprised me with a 4 day trip to the pumpkin festival and I was extra surprised when she said I could bring the dog.  The view is a given (as evidenced by all the reviews) but what is even more special is the pet friendly attitude around here.  Radiant heated floors are amazing, jacuzzi tub and separate glass shower are wonderful(not great water pressure in the shower).  But what really made our stay special was the woman we met at the reception desk the moment we entered the Inn...Roxanne was super special and so very welcoming.  She worked the entire weekend while we were there...brought our breakfasts to our room, answered all our questions and loved our dog.  In the room was a basket of goodies for our dog, biscuits, towels to wipe his feet and a blanket for him to sleep on.   Across the street at the Miramar Beach Restaurant, we were able to bring him along while we ate on the patio.  If you are bringing a dog this is a great place to stay and a great area to be in...the beach is pet friendly and so are all of the people.  We were here the weekend of the Annual Pumpkin Festival when Half Moon Bay is FULL of people but we felt like we were very insulated from the crowds here on Miramar Beach.  I felt like it was a 5 star resort without the uppity snooty attitude.!!!!!

This place was adorable!
My finace surprised me with our trip out to Half Moon Bay for the weekend. The bed and breakfast was super charming, and the staff was friendly without ever being pushy or too nosy. We stayed in the Tuscany room and it was absolutely beautiful. The bed was so comfortable! Radiant heating in the floor, gas fireplace, whirlpool tub, it was fabulous. The elevator was still out when we got there, but it's one flight of stairs, I can handle that. They fixed the card reader to the front door while we were there, so don't worry, it's working now. =)
Breakfast was fantastic! It's gotten a bunch of awards for their breakfast and I can see why, it was the perfect way to start the day. The wine and appetizers around 4:30 were great, quality stuff, and they have a huge wine list that you can purchase from as well.
We had a wonderful time and it was worth it to splurge a bit for this trip. =)

We needed a romantic/non-stuffy getaway for someone's 30th birthday.  That person did not want to wake up on the morning of their 30th birthday in a stuffy bed and breakfast that feels like someone's house.  Landis Shores' Tuscany room fit the bill - right on the ocean, fancy tile floors, jets in the bathtub, and the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on.  It's got a bit of a condo feel, but in a classy way, and the people who run it couldn't be nicer.  The breakfast was outstanding, and the overall customer service experience was flawless.  This is the perfect place for a special occasion.

love love love this place. i don't know what that guy is talking about with the creepy staff, i thought they were all super friendly.  we stayed in the champagne room. it had a fire place, comfy chair, sofa, tv w/dvd and vhs, whirlpool tub with a separate shower, a mini fridge and a balcony over looking the ocean. they brought us breakfast to our room each morning. they served tea and coffee in the morning, wine and appetizers from 4:30-6. and then tea after that. the breakfast was super good. waffles w/berries, sausage and orange juice the first morning. the second morning it was quiche, fresh fruit, english muffin and orange juice. they have a ton of movies you can take back to your room and also a bunch of board games.  we definitely plan on going back here.
