FYI they deliver with a guy on an "electric bike" (per the individual who answered the phone) and thus don't deliver more than about a mile away from the store. I live about a mile and a half away and they refused to deliver. Kinda pathetic for a pizza place.
EDIT: About an hour after I posted this review, the owner messaged me to apologize for the "incorrect" information given by the person who answered the phone, and indicated that Landini's delivers anywhere within a 5 mile radius. He also offered a free pizza coupon as a token of his apology. Great example of the beauty of Yelp in both giving customers power and also giving businesses the ability to compensate for mistakes.
I'm moving them up from 2 stars to 4 for the great (and quick) customer service, and I look forward to trying their pizza. I'll update my review again after I do so. -

Landini's came highly recommended by my boyfriend. Only three weeks living in Little Italy and he's probably already stopped into Landini's 6, maybe, 7 times. He's probably there at this very moment about to mow down some pizza :-)
The other day, we ordered a Cheese Pizza and a couple orders of pasta for take-out. Our order was ready in 20 minutes!! I chose the Spinach & Ricotta Ravioli in a vodka sauce and my boyfriend had the Italian Sausage Pasta. Everything was outstanding and bursting with flavor.
The New York-style pizza had a crispy thin crust, a slightly charred outter rung, a delicate layer of sauce and a glistening layer of cheese. And true to New York pizza form, you will only find one size at Landini's: monstrous! The Spinach & Cheese Ravioli was unbelievable. And the vodka sauce was, pardon the cliche, to-die-for!
Coupled with some smooth Cab (and good company), we really enjoyed our evening together over Landini's.

I ordered delivery online, via theusual. I grabbed a stromboli and a greek salad, and was pleased to see my request for no onions on the salad was honored, but very sadface that my request for no ham in the stromboli, and to add black olives if possible, was ignored. SADFACE!! I don't like ham!!! NO HAM!!!!
From order to delivery was about 45 minutes which is certainly reasonable for dinnertime on a weeknight. My calzone was piping hot and my salad was ncielty chilled, the latter with 2 dressing options enclosed. The stromboli was DELICIOUS. Light and ungreasy pizza dough with a filling of cheese, green peppers, pepperoni, but sadly also big chunks off ham I didn't want. The salad was crisp and fresh, with a minimum of the dreaded iceberg lettuce.
The delivery driver was also noteworthy. When he arrived, he unfortunately didn't know I'd already paid online so he didn't have the CC slip so I could write in his tip. I didn't have any cash so I apologized, and he said if I promised to order from them again, it wasn't a problem. Wait, a pizza delivery with actual customer service?! ZOMG AMAZING!!
I called today to give my compliments to the manager, and wanted to post a review post haste so everyone would know that great food and good service DO still exist in San Diego. Well done, Landini's, you just earned a customer for life! -

While staying in Little Italy, I decided to give Landini's a try. We ordered the Soprano pizza. It was very good. New York style greasy deliciousness. Definitely deserves another visit if I'm ever in the area.

**Note: this review is only for the pizza.
Such a great find! I stumbled upon Landini's about a year ago after going to Extraordinary Desserts a few blocks away. AMAZING! I love that they sell by the pizza slice and throw it into the oven to heat it up for you. My favorite is the spinach and ricotta.. well, anything with ricotta is DELICIOUS.
This place was definitely on my CONS list when I thought about moving away from San Diego... needless to say, I'm happy in the Bay Area, but I'd be happier if there was a Landini's nearby. :( -

I can't remember if I posted on this or not, but January 1st we rented the back patio for my friends 40th birthday and it was pretty great! I'll definitely consider Landini's Patio again for a get together event. I'll post some pics of the event.
Of course I liked the pizzas, but the pasta trays and salad trays were raved about by the guests too. They even let us bring our own cake. That was great!Listed in: I want a treat!, Little Italy

Very good pizza and with their $6 special for 2 slices and a drink, you can't go wrong. I love that their outdoor patio is dog-friendly and heated... although we asked for the heaters to be turned on and no one ever came out to do so. Service is so-so. Pizza has a nice, crispy, thin crust and I especially like their pesto sauce.

By far our favorite pizza place in San Diego. I have no idea why it has taken me over 3 years to finally write a review for this place, I think i was trying to keep it a secret for my own selfish reasons... although it's hardly a secret now. Amazingly crunchy, thin crust pizzas. my favorite is the spinach & ricotta. everyone's always friendly, they have beer to keep my husband happy and the best patio in back. Plus, a few years ago when we used to live downtown in the East ViIlage they delivered pizza to us on Christmas eve even though we were out of their delivery area at that time. They will forever be my heroes!

So I've given Landini's a try a few more times since my last review and have reconsidered my previous rating for the following reasons:
The 2-slices and a beer deal can't be beat. For only $8.50 you get 2-slices of any piece of pizza and a GOOD beer. This includes STONE BEER. Some places downtown will charge you that much for just the beer. I wouldn't be as impressed if they were serving fizzle yellow stuff. But no, Landini's steps up the game and therefore get a better rating. Not a beer drinker? They've got a wine deal that's only priced a dollar higher.
They are open late and serve quickly. Living in Little Italy one has a lot of restaurants to choose from but they all take their time and close pretty early. When I want a quick slice of pizza and some beers, Landini's delivers.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Landini's has a good meatball roll but their pizza is average at best. Every time they send a delivery guy he's too stoned to remember cheese or peppers. The last guy had the nerve to snap at my girlfriend for making him wait too long when headquarters messed up where we live. The food is decent but the service is garbage I wouldn't be surprised if all the Stoners working there were bleeding that place dry.

If, like me, you are able to appreciate a lunch experience at a trendy spot that offers reasonably priced pizzas by the slice without compromising quality, you will no doubt love Landini's.
While their setup is very basic, with only a few items on the menu, the place seriously impresses with its flavorful pizzas and complimentary soft drinks.
For a mere $3, you get a large pizza slice of your choice, warmed up while you wait, and a fountain drink. Throw in another $3, and you've just bought yourself a delicious lunch at what truly is a bargain price.
Both indoor and outdoor seating options are available. Not recommended for daily use. -

Always a favorite for a quick in-expensive great tasting lunch. Today tried the Mexican Pizza for the first time. I think that was chorizo on the pie. I got it because of the jalapenos and was pleasantly surprised. $6 for two slices and a soda. Great lunch special.

Landini's Pizza was simply great!! Again I have found great pizza on the west coast. I snuck into the place one night I was looking for a snack. The aroma from the street first caught my attention. As I walked in I was greeted by the owner who was working the front counter. There were several people in front of me ordering which gave me time to try and decide on a flavor of pizza. I ordered two slices and a drink and went outside, amazing pizza, the crust was thin, but not paper-thin where all the toppings fall off. Crispy and flavorful! I love it so much I went back in for a third slice it was so worth it.
If you're in the San Diego area and need some pizza, GO HERE!! -

Good place for a less-expensive lunch in Little Italy. Two slices and a soda for 6 bucks - hard to beat that in San Diego! Went in for the first time last week with the girlfriend and got the Sicilian pepperoni. Very good, cheap, quick. Atmosphere is very casual, outdoor tables are available. Will probably be back next time I'm in Little Italy.

4.5 Stars. Being kind, I gave 5-stars.
For under $10, you can jump off the I-5, and grab a PRIMAVERA pasta (vegan without the cheese), from legit Italian cooks. The only downsides is that the tables and seating are low-quality, and you're served on paper-plates--however, if you look past that, you have a very unique experience, quite different from the watered-down Domino's or Pizza Hut chain we are used to. -

To poor college kids and peeps on a budget, Landini's is the ideal inexpensive date stop. Nestled in Little Italy, you can stroll around on a full stomach with some extra cash for dessert (gelato maybe?).
I was fortunate enough to be hungry and walk pass Lindini's. My friend spotted their amazing deal, 2 pizza slices and 1 draft beer for less than $9 on a Friday night, so we had to stop.
So as a beer geek, I was quite impressed with their draft selection, and my foodie friend was pleased with pizzas. They had 4 beers on tap: Peroni, Karl Strauss Red Trolley, Karl Amber Lager and Stone IPA. We got the Amber lager, which was good compliment to our pesto and Hawaiian pizza. The pizza crust was thick enough to hold up the pizza, and thin enough to avoid bread stick status. The pesto pizza was delicious, with a good portion of garlic and basil.
Make sure to eat on the patio and not forget your food. The patio is heated with plenty of tables. It's like eating in a friend's backyard function, lots of nice outdoor furniture with a few random garden statues.
So if you can't afford to eat or wait at the fancy Italian restaurants, but want to experience the Little Italy, stop by Landini's and enjoy the life's simple pleasures of pizza and beer.Listed in: Bored In SD?

Pizza - thumbs up. Two dumbass counter guys - Thumbs down!
If you chose to work a a pizza place, guess what- someone might ask you what kind of pizza you have. Shocking, I know, but lose the attitude and the condescending tone and do your job. Yes, all of them. All seven pizzas-just tell me what they are and I'll order. Better yet, put up some little signs and you can go back to grunting and glaring. Specifically the DA that was working the counter at lunch on Thursday 9/15 -

I think this is the best NY-style in California. Similar to "new" NY pizza in that there's a dozen pies in the showcase fridge, with some pretty wild combinations (like buffalo chicken pizza). Most of the pies are approachable but somewhat inventive (not quite as much as in NYC, where you actually have tons of places serving baked ziti pizza and vodka chicken pizza and lasagna pizza).
BUT THE CRUST?!?!?!!! Thin but not too thin. And yet thick enough. Stands up to the toppings. Great texture and flavor. And just like I had in Queens at the better places. 'Nuff said. -

In addition to my previous review, I mentioned about their delicious Tiramisu to die for, that a little costly if you compare to other places that served tiramisu.
Please note that Landini's tiramisu is an original recipes and all the ingredients are specially imported from Florence, Italy.
I will definitely come back for more of Landini's Tiramisu.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Had it been 2 years since I visited you Little Italy?
Since I read a few articles about the pizza at this joint, we decided to hit up a quick meal.
2 (NYC) slices and a soda for $6.
Quick, hot and ready in minutes. You have the option to dine in, out in the front patio, or on their side patio. (Alcohol is not permitted on the street patio dining, so bring them inside or to the side patio. You'll def be told!)
Tried the pepperoni and sausage as well as the meatball marinara. Both great choices and the crusts were thing and crispy! I would have preferred more sauce on the pizzas, however.
Service is quick, although I felt really rushed to order without not knowing what was avail. There are no signs to tell you what pizza slices were what and that was annoying.
Next door is Filippi's, so you have your pizza competition and your preference. Parking is a bitch in the area, so if you're not lucky to snag a front spot, don't be discouraged, be patient, and circle the neighboring streets. -

Wow, this was ridiculously good pizza-by-the-slice, especially for what ended up being less than $3 a piece. The environment is a little dive-y, but if you don't mind that, the food's worth it. Would definitely eat there again.

I'm a NY pizza snob. Ok? I lived in Jersey and have fond memories of eating NY pizza in NYC. Living on the West Coast, it has been an adventure finding a legit NY pizza place. Don't get me started with bagels...
I have to say that Landini's is the closest to NY pizza I've had in SD. Not quite like the original, but good enough. This review is for pepperoni pizza: The sauce is good (the pizza could use a TINY bit more sauce), the amount of cheese is perfect, the pepperoni is the right kind (they could use a bigger (diameter) slice), and the crust on the bottom is thin, crunchy, & can handle the toppings.
My only complaint is that the crust on the edge/outside isn't bubbly, but is flat & pathetic. Somewhat on the drier side. If they can get the edge/outside crust to be crunchy, fluffy in the inside, and with the occasional big bubble, then I would give this place a 5 out of 5. Mangia, mangia!! -

THE BEST PIZZA IN SD!!!
i am so glad i found this place when we went to the little italy festa. i just had the plain cheese pizza....so i can only imagine how good the ones with toppings are. the cheese is a special blend, its not just some mozerella tossed onto the crust. and the crust is soooo thin and crispy! i cant wait to try the others! -

The last time I went there I ordered 3 slices to go. They stacked the slices on top of each other after heated up and sandwiched them between 2 paper plates. So obviously all the gooey cheese and toppings stuck to the bottom of the slice above it and made a complete mess and ruined much of what's good about eating pizza. They used to put it in a to go pizza box but now they're getting cheap and screwing up a decent product. I'll pass next time and head for luigis or Pizzacato or cuccina urbana for really good authentic thin crust pizza.
So, after I posted this review the owner of Landinis apologized for the experience that I had, acknowledged that that wasn't their normal way of packaging their pieces to-go, and offered to provide a gift card for future use. He never made excuses for their action but instead owned up. If all businesses practiced this kind of customer support then I think there would be many more successful restaurants!
Good pizza, and great customer service = an upgraded review! I'll be returning whenever I get the craving for tasty pizza since it is in my hood :) -

I haven't had such good cheap thin crust pizza in such a lonnnng time!!!! Not too far from downtown SD. We came here looking for food and wanted to avoid the rest of the comiccon crowd we left. It was fairly late we walked here and let me say, THIS PLACE WAS SUPER CRACKIN!!!!
Some of the group saved some seats outside while others waited in the line that went out the door. They do server beer and you can drink them out front if you want. Landini's has a great selection from your common pepperoni to Spinach Ricotta. Whatever way you go the pizza is delicious. The best thin crust pizza I've had in a while.
People are super cool and friendly also. Tables out in the store front are really close to each other and we ended up choppin it up with the ground sitting next to us and splitting some drinks with them. -
Review from Jay L.
Super thin, moderately crisp, NYC style pizza just around the block from me. The sauce is tomatoey, tangy and not sweet.
There were some people dissing the joint when I was in there and that made me realize that pizza, like religion, is very polarizing.
They have their slices have baked in the front display case so you can pick what you want. They will then crisp it up for you in the oven.
That's how they do it and that's how it's done all over NY. It's not "old" pizza...it's not "dried out" pizza. I guess if you've never been to NY you wouldn't know that. But now you do, so quit bitchin'.
Anyway, they have a bunch of younger dudes working, so yeah, service might not be white table cloth. But they have a 2 slice plus a beer deal for $8. Nice.
The outdoor patio is great too.
Oh, and if you catch them throwing out the old pies at the end of the day, you may get one if you ask nice. Free pizza? Word.
They take credit cards. -

Two reviews in one.
Review #1: two slices of pizza. Four stars. Perfect thin crust and good prices and service. Would come here for the pizza again.
Review #2: Stromboli and sausage sandwich. Delivered. Three stars. I wish the green peppers in the Stromboli were cooked. I wish the sandwich wasn't smushed into a takeout container not long enough to hold it. At least cut the sandwich in half. I wish we got napkins. Food taste was average this time. Should have stuck to the pizza. -

When we had the black out this week I had to think fast - who in the neighborhood had a gas stove or oven and would have food prepared? In hopes of getting dinner for the BF and I, I hit the streets armed with my check book, and Landini's saved me!
Thanks for not letting us go hungry this week - and for consistanly making awesome pizza. -

Reheated pizza. Enough said.
They make the pizza, put it in the window for you to see. Then, reheat the pizza in the oven when you're ready to order. Personally, I would rather wait the extra 5-10 minutes for a fresh pizza than have one reheated. I don't care if Wolfgang Puck himself made the pizza.
However, the pizza slices are relatively cheap. -

For sure there are a lot of better places to eat pizza in San Diego, this is really cheap but is not that good, is greasy, taste like two days old, it's not good. The attention is horrible! They treat you like if they were mad at you, the place is kind of nasty too, take forever to clean a table to eat there.

I needed some quick, relatively inexpensive food in Little Italy one Thursday night. I found Landini's while wandering down India Street, and I was very glad I did.
I was greeted with a smile from a polite young man working behind the counter and a huge selection of pizzas on display in the front case. I ordered one slice of veggie and another of spinach, feta and mushroom pizza. Deliciouso, and vegetarian-friendly! The special came with a drink, and only cost $6 including tax. I came in after a tough workout, and the meal was substantive enough to eliminate my hunger for the rest of the evening. By the time I got back from retrieving my drink, my pizza was hot and waiting for me. It was tasty and fresh, and both slices were loaded with veggies. The crust was good, too -- crisp, but not overdone.
Landini's has ample seating out front, inside and on the back patio, and I was able to connect to the San Diego Free Wifi network from an outside table. -

San Diego, CA
The pizza is pretty good for the price ($6 for2 slices and a drink) and convenience. Not the best pizza but get your craving quick. The location is convenient to me and they have a nice a patio.
However, I do not know what they are thinking with the service. They really do not know how to communicate with the customers. I see customers come in asking about the pizzas and the tall skinny dude getting frustrated and the customer trying to explain. The customer shouldn't feeling like they are a nuisance or not welcome.
Then this whirlwind of a Tasmanian devil little latin dude comes in yelling at everyone. Hes slamming his spatula, boxes flying around. "What do you wan?!!" Wha?!! Dats pepparoni!! Ok lets go 2 slice to ready cumon!!" The whole place gets uncomfortable and I want to take the guy out back and put him in his place. Which the owners should do... He makes the whole pizzeria look unorganized, confused and very non-Italian.
I think I am going to boycott Landinis, or maybe invest in another to-go pizzeria with friendlier and welcoming customer service in the area. -

We ordered the ravioli plate to share - thinking it would be enough...little did I know it was a dollar/ravioli
$8.50 for about 8.5 pieces of ravioli...
the service was sub par, almost rude, the only dressing for salad was blue cheese, good thing my friend Mexichris works there otherwise,
I don't think I'll be back.
also, make sure to ask for your dish without sweat -

I saw them on the news and found myself in little italy months later and decided to check them out. SUPER friendly staff, delicious crispy pizzas (be prepared- they are flat) and they obviously keep the place super clean (they were scrubbing the tables, and base tiles on the wall as they were preparing for a busy night. Small inside, but they have patio seating in the back and out front.
Have to say the pizza is just like it is in italy. Flat, crispy and delicious. They have a good deal: pizza slice, soda, and large house salad for$ 6.50, and I do mean a nice large salad.
Good pick for a fast meal for a few minutes and then continue on your way!
