Definitely my Sac store when it comes to ski gear. The guys that work here know their ski stuff and it's very cool to come in and talk to them. It's definitely a mom and pop shop, but they stock quality gear here. Quality of service of great and while the selection isn't anywhere near what they have at Mega-Ski-Mart (sorry... Sierra Snowboard and Ski), this place is definitely the better shop for skiers.
Prices are a bit on the high side, but you're paying for arguably the best selection of ski gear in the city of Sacramento, great customer service, knowledge of the product, and (a plus for me) supporting a quality local business. Always try to make it out here for the annual ski swap.
One of the worst customer service experiences of my life. Drove here from Davis one night to get custom footbeds for my ski boots-- a birthday present from my bf. They told me they couldn't do it that night because the oven would take too long to warm up and the guy who really knows what he is doing only works 5-8 on Thursdays. Perhaps that should have led me to think I should go somewhere else, but since it would have been about $50 cheaper than doing it on the mountain, decided to come back on Thursday.
Called on Thursday before going to verify that the oven would be on, and let them know that I needed the custom footbeds made, was told it was no problem. When we showed up, however, a very different situation unfolded. The "boot guy" said there was NO WAY he could accommodate since he already had 3 pairs to do and there wasn't enough time. When I asked why I was told it would be fine, the useless waste of space whom I had spoken to on the phone said that he misunderstood me, and that they have "like 4 ovens" so he thought I was referring to a different process, like molding my boots. When I asked how he would confuse that, since I only said custom molded footbeds, he shrugged. Then the equally useless guy that didn't help the first time we went in said that if he had taken the call they could have been prepared. Good to know, a$$hole. Obviously pissed for wasting time and gas money driving there after work from Davis twice in one week, my bf and I left feeling like sending a molotov cocktail through their window.
Most irritating things about the whole situation:
1- To make custom footbeds, one needs only stand on a mold for like 5 minutes. Then the "boot guy" could take care of the rest. If that guy can't manage to make 4 pairs on the only shift he works all week, he clearly isn't very competent.
2- How do you run a business where you have one employee working 3 hours a week with a huge money maker like footbeds? (cost $150 to buy, probably about $10 to make)
3- Why could they not have explained how you should really make an appointment with the "boot guy" one our first useless trip to Sac? Thanks for making us come a second time for the same pointless ramble.
Clearly will never go here again. I don't think I've ever dealt with less competent people who cared less about their jobs. If I owned this place I would fire every last employee and start over before I went under. There are plenty of people out there who need jobs and would actually be willing to work for their pay. And those probably wouldn't be smoking bowls all day, rendering whatever pitiful customer service skills they might have completely useless. Sorry that I came here wanting to spend a bunch of money only to be denied that option. TWICE.

Just came home from a custom boot fit with Eric. They know what they are doing there. Patiently went through about 6-7 pairs for me and a couple for my wife. He figured out from my running shoes that I wore in the store how to size/fit/tweek the boots to fit right. Great sales right now - got a $500 pair for $299. Eric's sense of humor is a little dry, so be prepared. Also, they sell discount lift tix to Sugar Bowl and have vouchers for Northstar.
Gave me some tips on choosing the right ski. He showed me a set or two, but didn't push for a sale which was awesome. I think he knew I wasn't reading to pull the trigger on the skis and was professional about giving tips on doing demo days on the mountain to find the right fit.
We'll be back there for sure. I live in Davis and drove out there just to go to this shop and am glad I did.
paid $22 dollars to have some mumbling, incoherent 19 year old attach my bindings. a few days later, when i was sitting at the top of a mountain, i find that the bindings are wiggling around. end up taking it to Rip N Willies (S. Lake Tahoe, off of Ski Run) to find that the washers used on the bindings were too deep, making them remain loose despite the screws being tight. they fixed em for me free of charge.
the faulty washers were the manufacturer's fault, but had the employees at Land Park been more skilled/attentive/whathaveyou, I'm sure they would have noticed.

Been coming here since I was a little kid. This is the only place in town you can rent/buy big sized boots. Not all of us have normal sized feet! Great service whenever I go in there. Knowledgeable staff and great selection. I love the chalet look of the building especially in a neighborhood like Land Park. Support your local ski shop!
