Always a great choice! Their burger is pretty reasonably priced and good too (Harrisburg location).  But go for the beer... it rocks!

Always a great stop for a great beer.  Service is always great at both this location & Lancaster. Although, the food variety is better at the Harrisburg location.

My personal beer of choice - "Hop Hog"!

I was really excited to come in because I love wheat beers - especially flavored wheat beers (Schlafly's raspberry hefeweizen is one of my faves ever) so the strawberry wheat beer drew me in. I came in and sat at the bar at 6pm on a Saturday. Bartenders were nice and attentive - sweet girls who gave me my food, so I have no complaints.

Beer was delicious - I ended up taking a growler home - and I would come back to try more flavors, especially the celtic rose which sounded quite good.

The food was also enjoyable - I have had a big thing for BBQ pulled pork sandwiches and onion rings lately, so I ordered that exactly. The sandwich was tasty - not the best I have had, but definitely up there. The bun, perhaps, was one of the better I have had in PA (most taste like white grocery store buns, this was thick, fluffy, and good). The onion rings were okay - a little bland to me and hard to eat and I kept feeling like a fool as a girl alone in a bar making a mess eating onion rings. The onions slid out of the batter crazy easily then they were kind of hard so I couldn't stab them well with my fork, and just imagine this. I am sure I looked mildly crazy. The fries looked amazing though, and I will go back to try them.

Overall, a good experience, and a good place in Harrisburg I hope to continue to visit.

I have to admit, the draw for me to come in initially was their beer. I was certainly in for a surprise, the food complimented their beer wonderfully.
I had their milk stout marinated flat iron steak atop sweet and white potato fries, complimented by their seasonal imperial IPA, the Boss Hog. Overall great, the steak was cooked perfectly and the chile butter onto added to the deliciousness. The fries were perfectly seasoned, but the plate came with a side of ketchup, definitely didn't need any of that!
My gf had the orange/miso glazed salmon, served skin on with gnocchi. Awesome dish and the pan sear on the salmon was perfect! (very hard to find in restaurants sadly).
Service was on point, very nice and attentive on our table. Like what you would want out of good service, there....but not there .
Overall, our experience was excellent, good portion sizes, great menu, excellent service, and inviting, atmosphere. Will definitely return

I'm in Harrisburg from time to time on business. By far, the best food and drink in town. The lamb burger is pretty good. The wings are above average. (inferno). The Amish Four Grain is a standout. Good vibe in the joint.  Can get lost in here for hours.

I've came here for dinner 5 times ordering something different every time.
Pros: the micro beer, interior, service

    Cons: the food

A steak house should have cooks that know how to cook steak. Every time I've gone there myself and my company's meals have had an issue. I ordered a fillet MR and it was burnt on one side and MW.
French onion soup tasted like I was drinking oil (cheap mozz cheese).

If you come here, eat before you arrive and drink a lot of beer.

Had a 20% off coupon because I was staying at the hotel next door.

The food was fine, but the service sucked. It was just me, my sister, and her grandbaby during a slow weekday early lunch, so hardly anyone was there. Another 'business' group of 4 men sat down after us, ordered after us and were served way before we were. I had goobers in my tea.

After the initial replacement of the tea, I never did get offered a refill. My sister took the baby out to the car while I waited and waited for the check. During this time the 'business' lunch guys had already paid the bill and were headed out the door. When she finally brought the check, I had to ask for a refill to go; she asked if we need boxes to which I replied, no, they are long gone now.

The food was good, especially their chips, but the prices on the kid's menu were inflated. The kids menu was nothing more than 'kid friendly' foods pulled from the regular menu. The serving sizes and prices were not 'kid sized'.

If I were to go again, I would order out.

My husband and I went to Lancaster Brewing Company last night. I had the Strawberry Wheat beer which was very good. My husband and I both had the soup of the day, Cream of Crab, which was delicious. My husband had the bratwursts platter and I had the crab cakes. The meals were delicious; however, I thought the the prices were a little high. I wish they had more sandwich platters.

Updated:  Second trip - skipped the salad and went with soup.  It was excellent.  All of our entrees were very good - Brats, fish & chips, filet.  Also, the waiter was much, much (did I say much) better than the last time.  Easily enough to bump them up to a four star.

Very good meal.  All the entrees were good including meatloaf and tuna. Things that could be better...no side salad option-so we had to get regular salads with dinner (just way more food & money than necessary) and waiter didn't do a very good at explaining what their brews were like. In the grand scheme of things, these shortcomings are not that big a deal, but I'll still limiting them to 3 stars.

Went here for date night.  We didn't order any entrees as nothing really sparked the hunger fire... but we did get the Black and Tan Hummus.  It was very very good **warning** if you do not like garlic do not order this.

The hubby tried all of the beers, I liked the Milk Stout.  The beer was very good as I had sips of all of his.  For a Saturday night it was not crowded at all and if it had not been for the fact the AC was cranked up to meat locker I would have been much more comfortable.

Overall it was a pretty decent experience and we will probably be going back.

Came here while visiting Lancaster. Loved the wings, very juicy and moist. I got the jumbo lump crab cakes and they were delicious! Huge chunks of crab and flavorful. My boyfriend got the pretzel chicken, also very good. The horseradish mashed potatoes = super amazing. Definitely would come back here again if I'm ever in the area.

We've been to LBC several times and each visit has been very good! Last night there were 6 of us in our party and the service and food was exceptional. To start we tried the beer/cheese dip along with their calamari. Both dishes were a nice start.
The main courses were very good and portion size was very filling.
We all enjoyed our respective brews with the Milk Stout and the strawberry wheat being two of the top.
    We will return!

I've been to LBC about five times and it seems to be that every other time I go, the service is slow or poorly-timed.  The servers themselves are nice enough, but when my family and I went this past Sunday, our server would leave to take care of another table without letting us place an order for an appetizer or ask for a refill.  After a bit I guess it slowed down for him, but this service is not uncommon at LBC.  It's not necessarily bad, just ill-timed especially when you're coming in for  lunch and there's only two other tables and you're really hungry.  I keep coming back though because the food is outstanding.  I had a chef special dish of braised duck and raviolis with cranberry relish, and now I'm craving it again.  Dad had the bratwurst off the Oktoberfest menu and it was delicious from what I sampled.  My brother got the stout marinated steak and fries--oh my god where those fries to die for.  Sweet potato fries perfectly crisp and soaked a bit from the carmelized onions from the steak... yum.  I had to sneak a few extra.  Overall, a decent experience, but be wary of the wait.  I wouldn't let it stop me from going again.

Overall, a good experience.  We (family of four) ate here for an early Saturday dinner.  The beer sampler (ten of their current releases for $10) was an excellent way to sample their different brews.  I wasn't impressed with most of the beers, but a few (Amish Four Grain, the seasonal Hefeweizen, and the Pale Ale) were good.

We ordered the Reuben Egg Rolls (very good) as an appetizer.  For dinner, two of us ordered the Lamb Burger (interesting but good), the kids ribs meal (good, although not enough for my daughter) and the LBC Steak Sandwich, which my wife liked.  The homemade potato chips accompanying the sandwiches were very good.

I was between 3 and 4 stars on this one but it doesn't let you do that on this site.  It's a great place to go, only their happy hour isn't that great.  Best time to go without struggling for a table is lunch time.  I've been there often at that time without any issue getting a seat.  The service is always good.  I recommend the strawberry pale ale,  the meatloaf sandwich (lunch only), and the best cobb salad around (smoked chicken).  Good for a crowd or to take the boss.

Harrisburg is the capital of PA. Harrisburg is NOT the culinary capital of PA. During my dozen or so business trips here in the last few years, I have been underwhelmed at each meal. However, L BC actually EXCEEDED my expectations (which were low, of course).

A decent pale ale was served, along with a Lamb Burger with feta cheese and tzatziki sauce, and some excellent home made chips. My dining companion got a nice salad with grilled chicken, and fresh tasting veggies.

Now with LBC and Five Guys in the area, I have at least 2 nights worth of dining on each trip that will be good!  No more fuddruckers - woo hooo!

There's one reason and one alone that the Lancaster Brewing Company gets five stars in my book - they know their beer.  As this IS a brewery... isn't that what it's all about?

I'm allergic to sulfite preservatives, and they're one of the few restaurants where I've been blessed with an amazing server who not only knew what they were (most servers are like... "you're allergic to wha?"), but could also answer positively that there are NO SULFITES in the beer on tap.  (He also knew that there ARE sulfites in the bottled beer, so kudos on that, too.)   The first time I went to LBC and had the sampler I had more beers in one sitting than I'd ever had in my life.  I can also get a growler filled to take home with me, and be able to safely have beer at home, which is a very rare occurrence.

I'm a fan of both the beer sampler - which I think is a great deal - and the milk stout.

All that said, if this was a straight-out restaurant and not a brewery I would not be giving it five stars.  I've had several of the appetizers which have been pretty good (I like the cheese plate) but the entrees I've had have been kind of "eh" - especially the pasta - with the exception of the lamb burger, which was excellent.

How is this place getting an average of 4 stars?  The beer is terrible.  the consistency is terrible.  I was so excited to see LBC so close to my home, but when I tried the sampler the only good beer was the porter or the stout.  LBC is a good microbrew for people that don't like real beer with substance.

You're better off getting a six pack of that new flavored budweiser stuff, because thats all LBCs beer taste like. "Flavored Beer"

Go to ABC.  Their mountain lager is out of this world and their IPA is comparable to many of the award winning west coast beers.

The place did look like it had potential though.  The staff was extremely nice and the restaurant looked ehhhh well maybe not.  Reminded me of an empty outback steakhouse.

My boyfriend and I went to the location in Lancaster a few years back and had an "ok" experience.  We decided to give this one a try a few weeks ago--to see if maybe that was just an off day.  No.

Mind you, the food doesn't suck...but it's way over-priced for the quality of what is served.  I got the prosciutto, pineapple and goat cheese pizza which was severely lacking in toppings...and what was there was located only in the center of the pizza (I hate that!)  My boyfriend's fish and chips was good...but not 16 dollars good--especially considering the "chips" were a few undercooked potato quarters.

I will say that their beer is pretty good.  Maybe they should have just stuck to being a brewery, because their food just...lacks.

Oh...and the whole restaurant smelled like a soured dish-rag.

Stopped here the other night on our way to VA via Harrisburg.  Not a bad joint, the beers were good and so was the food, but I knocked them down a star because #1, they were out of a few beers, including the octoberfest, and the service was slightly less than adequate.  It wasn't bad, but the server may or may not have been high or planned on getting high very soon after we left....oh well.

Had the same sausage platter mentioned below which was good but not especially flavorful (where's the horseradish in the mash) but the GF's sandwich was stellar.  A little overpriced, and the atmosphere was a little sterile and a little too spacious, making it echoey and your date a little distant.

Hop hog four stars.  Raw burger with undercooked bacon when I asked for medium on a slow afternoon zero stars. Companion rates her lamb burger 3 stars - could use more seasoning.  Second burger was well done but I ate it because I was hungry watching my friend finish her meal. Nothing offered for the raw burger -  not even a comp'd brew.  Fries were cold and tasteless.  I love brew pubs but I doubt I will be back.

I went here for a small business dinner last night.  The draw was supposed to be the food, but I found it underwhelming.  The beer was good, but I was the only beer drinker in the crowd.  Why drink Crown and Coke at a brewpub?

The table split the calamari, wings and crab dip.  The calamari was crisp and nicely fired, but it was lacking flavor.  The sauces that accompanied it were okay.  Wings were average at best, and the crab dip was soupy - pretty gross.

I had the lobster mac and cheese which came highly recommended from folks who had been there before.  I found it to be too rich, almost cloyingly so.  The cheese was very tasty, but the cream base was right over the top.

The "rice pudding brulee" was pretty weak.  It had come right out of the fridge, the rice was hard, and the caramelized top was probably about 15 seconds too short under the torch (or else the fact that it started out at 35 degrees made it mission impossible).

Our service was great - thanks to our server Kate.  Thanks, Kate.

I'd go back for the beer and maybe try a pizza or a burger, but I don't think I'd seek it out.

if i could do 2.5 stars i would. but when forced to choose, i go for two over three.

first, i should make this clear that i'm reviewing the food, not the beer. the menu looks insanely good. i was very excited to eat here. i had the sesame seed crusted tuna, bf had the ny strip. the steak was chewy, the tuna was near tasteless. the waitress was barely able to tell me anything about the food and so was not particularly helpful in making a decision. if i'm paying 20-30 dollars per entree, i expect the staff to be able to guide me at least a little. perhaps if they had charged $10 less per entree i would have been more pleased, but there are so many restaurants in harrisburg that if you want to pay at that price point there are many other places to go.

    i wouldn't go again.

The sampler gives you quite a few different brews to choose from which is good fun.

A pleasant dining experience. Walked in- and out of Gilligan's up the road in one smooth motion! Went on a Monday night; Mon Night Football on all the TV's drew a diverse and largely sedate crowd. Pints are only $4 entrees hover around $20. Nice place to have a relaxing dinner or appetizer and enjoy a pint of Winter Warmer. All beers on tap are their own product- about 11 in all including Amish Four Grain, Hop Hog, Milk Stout, a take on an Irish Amber, wheat beer, and a couple lagers on the menu. Good service in this little brew pub.

Gonna stay on 4 stars here.  Went on Valentines day and they took reservations.  It was nice because we walked in right after another couple and they sat us first because we had the reservation, even though there were some empty tables.  We did not opt for any of the dinner specials.  We got the olive appetizer.  It was a little odd to figure out how the different elements were to go together.  BF got the meat loaf which I thought was tasty.  I got a steak, medium and it came out perfect.  We opteds for our own desserts.  BF got the red velvet cake special which I found to be only OK, but I am quite picky when it comes to red velvet.  I had the molten chocolate lava whatever cake.  It was good, but my critique is that something as rich as that probably should have a different sauce other than chocolate syrup drizzled over the plate, like a raspberry or blackberry drizzle.   Being picky, I know, but just my suggestion to make it better.

Pizza in the bar is great! Homemade "chips" are great too! Bar? Just okay! And if you sit at the bar, be prepared to ask for a booster chair...the bar was at my chest when i sat down, and I am six foot.  Was looking for an upscale bar and this is not it.
