This is a great place to take out of town guests, family with kids, or even a romantic night out.

The last time we were here was for Boomers, and hope to go back soon.  The cafe next door is great for a glass of wine, but there are so
many restaurants in Coronado that you can walk to when the show is over.

There is enough room for about 300, and they do sell out quickly.  A great venue to check out. Something different, and definitely special!

This is a great little theatre!

The other night was my first time at Lamb's, and it was a wonderful experience. My brother's friend was the lead in "The Fantasticks," and so he invited me to go along with him.

It's an intimate theatre that seats approx. 300. There is a cafe attached to the side of the theatre, so you are able to grab a drink and snack before the show or during intermission.

Lamb's is a classy and well designed theatre house...I even enjoyed the bathroom set-up (you'll just have to check it out when you're there; good use of space). I love that its located in Coronado; so that you can arrive early and enjoy the beauty that is Coronado, take a walk, grab some ice cream, or whatever.

The one down side is parking, but that is something you're just aware of in Coronado.

Oh, and the play was wonderful!

I love this place!!

This is a very intimate theater.  We usually get seating in first three rows, but there is not a bad seat in the house.  They also have an under 30 club where all the performances are 50% off! =Thumbs up!=

It is also nice to step in next door to Encore for a glass of wine and snacks during the intermission. The performances are amazing.  I've been to two plays and a dinner performance: "Into the Woods" (awesome musical), "Angel's Arms" (a sweet Christmas story), and "An American Christmas" (an interactive Christmas dinner show with 30+ cast members).

I can't wait to go back!

I went to the theater with a few friends to see the extended showings of "Room Service" at Lambs Players Theater in Coronado. I was surprised by the venue, much different than I'd imagined, but in a good way. I'd only been to large theaters, never a local one, and I was pleasantly surprised. Even sitting in the back of the theater, I felt like I was right in the middle of all the action. The venue was fantastic, the employees very helpful and the location is phenomenal! With so many restaurants and cafes within walking distance its a great alternative to and evening out with friends or for an intimate date.

As for the play itself, "Room Service", it was fantastic. The actors were great, the humor and content was relatable (I don't think I've laughed so hard in a long while). All in all, great venue and great play. Looking forward to more in the future!

I just went to see Boomers at the Horton Grand Theater last week and it was fabulous! Even though I'm not a baby boomer myself, I really enjoy musicals and the songs they sang were all the popular hits from the 60's-80's...ones I was familiar with. I was smiling and had chills from the excitement the entire time! The live band was phenomenal...I felt like I was at a rock concert.

The beginning was fun too, where they did a "name that tune/artist" contest for some prizes. I'm terrible at knowing the artists, but I knew all the songs!

I really hope this production goes on tour - I want my parents to see this show!!

Lambs players actually has 2 locations now- the Horton Grand is an extension of the theatre on Coronado.

We have only attended shows at the Coronado location but have been extremely happy with the talent and the theater.  The theater is newer and there is not a bad seat in the house (really!).  It is a smaller theater and we have sat in varies locations.   We have enjoyed a variety of performances including Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Susan and God, and An Ideal Husband.  My husband also has taken our 7 year to the christmas show.

Two major issues that I have with this place.

1) I'm usually the only Asian dude and yes I can feel the stares.

2) Just about everyone around me is well over 50

But you know what, its Coronado, its the geriatrics 'hood and I'm the one thats invading their scene.

They've actually moved to the Horton Grand Theatre where "Triple Expresso" used to play.

Went last night to their latest performance, Boomers.  A fantastic musical about the Baby Boomer generation.  Now, obviously I myself am not a Boomer, but I've got to admit there was rarely a time that I wasn't grinning during this performance.  A thoroughly enjoyable journey through the music and pop culture of the lives of baby boomers.

Much of the music and pop culture was still very relevant to my generation (classic rock, woodstock, reggae, motown, I dream of jeanie, gilligan's island, etc) and it was great to throw it all together in a 2 hour celebration of all that is Boomers.

I was especially appreciative of the fact that they did not just gloss over the tough periods with happy songs.  They spoke dramatically of the Vietnam War, JFK's assasination, the civil rights movement  and the increase in divorce rate from many points of view.  At times I even had a little chill run down my spine.

Kudos go out to actor Bill Doyle for his portrayal of Miles the stoner/hippy and actress Anise Ritchie for an absolutely amazing voice!

I'd encourage all to go see this production.  If you're a Boomer, you will definitely enjoy the nostalgic ride, and if you're not...what a great way to connect with people from another generation!

This is one of the more established theaters in San Diego. The setting is intimate and the location is in the heart of Coronado, which is not a bad place to visit to catch a play. This theatre is not nearly as large and high-tech as the La Jolla Playhouse, but the theatre does give audiences the opportunity to get up close and personal with the actors while they are performing.

However, don't expect catch any racy or scintillating shows here because the Lamb's Players Theater often showcases family-friendly. entertainment.

I've attended 3 plays by Lamb's: Into the Woods, Angel's Arms and Boomers and have enjoyed them all. Into the Woods is one of my favorite musicals, and the intimate theatre made me feel like I was in the woods with them. Angel's Arms was a fun, festive holiday play that made me want to go home and turn on the Christmas songs. And Boomers -- I agree with Vanessa B. that they should go on tour. It is such a highly relevant musical, and I wish my parents could see it!

I do have season tickets....long story....but great gift from my boyfriend that keeps on giving!  5 times a year we have dinner and enjoy a delightful play in Coronado - a fun date night that we look forward to - with our busy schedules, it is nice to know it is booked there and on the calendar first!
Some of the plays are better than others, but most are really great performances in an intimate setting.  The last couple of plays we have seen have been completely engaging from start to finish - "Enchanted April" and "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat"

I generally do not like local professional theater...Lamb's Players is the exception to that. I think what's great about this theater is that they embrace the fact that they have a small stage and their actors are local talent. As such, they don't try to jump beyond that...instead they do shows that work for them.

I think the last thing that I saw there was Amadeus. It was a truly powerful and exceptional performance. They kept the cast smell, used intimate, evocative staging and focused it all on the powerful acting of the two leads.

When I still lived in Coronado, I had season tickets and saw Godspell, The Great Divorce, A Man for All Seasons, and a number of other things there.

Whatsmore, Lamb's Players caters to the older, conservative audience of Coronado. You won't find anything particularly controversial here, but that also makes it great for families of all ages and religious/philosophical bends.

I highly recommend it!

This is a wonderfully located theater.  Nice and quaint community theater stage set-up.  The rised seating makes the stage visible from any point.  I have been there a few times, in very different seats, and each seating location had a clear view.  I believe tickets run from $29-40.  The ensemble cast consists of seasoned, local talent. Very talented, and very engaging.  At some shows they have actor Q&A if you would like to get to know the cast.  Lamb's mission: "To tell good stories well." And they do just that. I went to see "Godspell" and "Boomers" a while ago and it was a fun theater experience. If you are looking for good stories, a vibrant cast, or if you are new to the theater experience you might want to check out Lamb's.

One of the highlights of coming home for me is going to see a production at Lamb's Players. Almost every seat has a great view (although this past year's Christmas production had some interesting loft scenery that made it so we couldn't see the actors in the left side of the loft) and you can hear very clearly without feeling like the actors are yelling at you.
The quality of the productions is great and the actors are all really down to earth and personable, not the "Get out of my way, I'm going to be famous!" kind. I chatted with several cast members after the last show I saw, even the kid actors, one of which was 5. That's the nice thing, because the productions are varied, so are the casts so you get a wide range of ages, personalities and ethnicities without feeling like they're trying too hard.
One of the best things about San Diego for sure.

A smaller venue than Broadway but you can see the actors act without burning a hole in your wallet.  I've been there many times and never been disappointed in the shows.  I highly recommend this place to those of you that are theater buff.
