Laloo is such a cute boutique in the old town of Nevada City. Mom-in-law and dad-in-law took my fiance and I here and this town is amazing. Anyway, when you walk in the store, you can tell that it is a store which consisted of things that made the owner happy. Portion of the wall had cute postcards and blank cards with great prints that was made by small companies and distributed to independent little boutique such as this one, board games that you wouldn't see at Target or Walmart, Ugly Dolls, Mary Englebreit items such as mugs and small suitcases, stuffed dog purses, painting and jewelries made by local artists, candles that smells really good bath and body works has nothing on them, and decorations that is suitable for homes to give it character and homey feeling in it. I bought a couple of postcards and cards for upcoming birthday and for myself to frame and a pirate game which was in a book box made out of wood, the game pieces were metal, and the board was made out of cloth and a pirate map was printed in it. The game was expensive but definitely fun to play. I want to come back here again because I love the atmosphere and the items that they sell. Oh yeah, the owner had cute puppies with her at the counter; a boston terrier and a pug, both napping because of the summer heat. So cute and adorable.
~~A LOT~~ of pet gifts for humans, not for pets, from figurines to doormats to keychains to sculptures. What I really liked in this store is a few items that the owner sells on commission. We happened to find a lovely antique vase that was being sold on commission. The owner was very nice.
This is the very first store and store owner i got to know and fell in love with in Nevada City. I always come in and say hi every time i pass by. The owner and her adorable Boston Terrier are the sweetest and most helpful shop keepers. It is pet friendly and you can always find something for the pet lover here! I have lil figurines from here that I have never been able to find elsewhere, candles that my mom cannot live without, books on pups, pictures of pups, games, toys, animal jewelry, stuffed animals galore. It is homey but contemporary for the pet/ pet owner with style.
