Been going here since I was a kid, I believe every year except the one where the the bull won. Poor guy, anyways. Prices are fair, comes once a year, as a multi event,
Bear back riding,
Team caff roping
caff roping
Bull Riding
Barrel Racing
etc etc

Seating on certain days is assigned, I recommend Saturday or Sunday going, its a little crowded on Fridays, Park down the street, so you can get the hell out of their stress free :)

note for rodeo association GET HEBREW NATIONAL HOT DOGS, aka costco dogs, so much better!

This rodeo seems to draw more of the young adult crowd compared to the more family atmosphere of the Poway rodeo. Additionally, a partially inebriated crowd really makes a livelier environment.

Thats pretty much the Lakeside rodeo, aka the happiest place on earth.  Booze, Babes, Boobs, Brawn, Bulls, Bros

White Trash is the new black!

When you have a hankerin' for a real rodeo, you know, the kind with real dirt and steer wrastlin' and corny jokes and cold hot dogs and warm beer and sparkly princesses and bow-legged fogeys...  this is where you go in the greater San Diego metro.

It's a great way to spend an afternoon or evening the last weekend of April.  There's a choice of Friday night, Saturday afternoon and evening, and Sunday afternoon.  And even better, it's an all-ages appropriate event.  I recommend getting there early for better parking and to take in the whole scene.  You want to get your kettle corn and such before settling in for some quality entertainment like you can't get anywhere else but this once a year.  (The Ramona rodeo in September is nowhere as good.)

If you make the novice's mistake of driving your clean BMW and wearing your Kenneth Cole shoes, folks will still be nice to you and everything.  You'll just feel out of place.  'Cuz you are.  By day's end, you'll be dusty and sweaty enough you'll fit in.  Giddyup!

Oh Lakeside, lovely Lakeside. How have I gone 23 years without the experience of a rootin' tootin' rodeo good time?

If you can get over pretending like east county sucks, I highly recommend the Lakeside Rodeo.

If you ever feel like you totally suck, go to the rodeo and you'll see a stadium full of people who suck way more than you. Or maybe they're fucking cooler because they LOVE THE SHIT OUT OF SOMETHING SO WHITE TRASH IT'S INSANE.

Hot dogs. Bud or Bud Light. Kettle Corn. Ice cream cones that melt the minute the scorching death sun beams it's fiery rays upon you.

More county music than you knew existed.

A rodeo clown who has no problem declaring Utah is only good for mormons and meth labs.

They also let a gaggle of under 6 yr olds loose in the ring, and half of them eat shit in the dirt. It's awesome.

SO many sequins Richard Simmons would SHIT his sparkly little pants.

Throw your boots on. Grab a beer. Punch your wife. And get your hillbilly on.
