Lake Winnie, as it's affectionately known to locals, is a small mom and pop amusement park nestled in the mountains just outside of Chattanooga. The park has a small town feel and is a great way to spend a leisurely Saturday afternoon in the spring.

There are no giant corporate bought rides here, no high tech attractions-just good old fashioned fun and friendly employees. Unlike Six Flags, Lake Winnie is clean.

Lake Winnie's Boat Chute is the oldest water ride in the USA! It was built in 1926 and uses water from the lake! Needless to say you will smell like funky lake water after you splash down, but it's all good!

The park's signature ride, the Cannon Ball, is a great old out and back coaster that I could ride all day. It's not the longest, fastest or scariest roller coaster but that's part of what makes it so fun! No loops or terrifying heights-just tons of air time over a series of bunny hills!

Some of the folks in the park can be a little....well, redneck. It is in the mountains near TN, after all!  There are more flat rides than I prefer; the spin and spews don't do it for me, and the park is hard to get to. But these are all little quibbles.

Discover Lake Winnie! It's tons of fun!
