Lake Spivey Golf Club
1 review for Lake Spivey Golf Club
I did the "find a course on http://LMTT.com" game Friday night for a round on Saturday. I knew the time frame I wanted and went a searching. Lake Spivey Golf Club had the right time at a good price.
With a travel mug of coffee and a krispy kreme I headed down I-75 and a short 30 minutes later I was at the course. This is an older course and the clubhouse showed it's age, but service was good and soon I was ready to go.
Luckily I was paired up with a local as course knowledge was very helpful. The course starts out fairly easy, Then you get to the 9th hole. A Par-5 with a pond in front of a very sloped green. Definitely not for the feint of heart.
The back nine is considerable more difficult than the front. Water comes into play on numerous holes. A couple of the par-4's, especially number 18 are only reachable for the longer hitters.
For a very reasonable $42 and an easy drive from downtown/midtown I will play it again. I can't really recommend it over some of the newer courses but a fun place to play at a reasonable price. If you live in the area you probably know what a bargain it is. Compared to others in it's price range it is a 4-star course; overall it is a 3-star.
