A hole-in-the-wall soon to move that serves exceptional Italian food.  Despite its size, the relatively plain decor and low lighting makes it seem bigger.  However it will get noisy, especially if there is a large group or two in the restaurant.

The food is delicious.  It is almost as good as Lusardi's, but much cheaper.  Also, as the wait staff always say in a friendly manner, "If there's something not on the menu that you want, let us know and we'll make it for you."  Their Caesar salad is one of my favorites as well as their Risotto.  Their fish is always fresh and excellent as well.

The wait are always courteous and pleasant to talk with.  If you want excellent bang-for-buck Italian food, definitely stop by here.

We went here with my grandmother who lives in Larchmont. I live on the other side of the county. Generally I find that the "east coast" has better restaurants than the "west coast" of the county.

The place itself is a bit of a dive, at least, on the outside, when compared with the cost of the food. The outside is a odd stucco pattern that has been painted several times; the parking lot is a small stretch of asphalt surrounded by a chain link fence. The restaurant appears to be diligent about alternating the $80,000+ car that appears in front of the restaurant, in the no parking zone, blocking the cross walk.

This place was certainly decent. The food was all pretty good, and there was very little that was objectionable. That said, for the price, it wasn't anything to write home about. Everything was good. Just good. Flavors were well balanced, portions were well sized, and the food was generally done well. Presentation was appropriate without being too showy.

Two things got to me about the menu/offerings. There was a lack of adherence to true italian food. This certainly was not striving to be a new place, pushing the limits of modern italian cuisine. A lot of items like the pepper crusted rare tuna, etc, might as well have come from a non italian restaurant. The menu also has steak and potatoes dumplings, and a few other things you wont find in Italy. For the die-hard italian american, they managed to include chicken parm, but they top it with some sort of salad or something that gives them the right to charge $32 for it.

My biggest beef is with the price. Four adults, two of whom only ordered one plate, with NO ALCOHOL, totaled $200. This is just crazy. It's beyond what's reasonable for this food.

The service also had its issues. Most of the wait staff was polite, however the host/bartender made mention of several specials which were actually non existent, according to the actual waiter. Unprofessional and disappointing.

Would I be happy for half the price? You bet. But if you're going to charge this much, you better wow me, at least a little bit.
