Despite our steamy affair, J.Lo and I have yet to see our fat dissipating from the heat. In fact, I've recently noticed alarming signs of pudgy little chins growing beneath our original mandibles. I call them our chindren. As cute as this may sound, it's not.
In order to prevent these evil chindren from cultivating into old and droopy chin flaps, I've been trying to coordinate more frequent physical activities other than our usual bed exercises. Though I'm hoping to adventure through more trails in the future, we decided to start with an easy path alongside the 210 fwy exit.
From what I've heard, this trail extends a few miles, starting from Sun Valley through the tree-lined Verdugo Mountains. The pathway is paved and makes a manageable trek, as I've noticed cyclists, children, and older couples along the concrete course. Being late in the evening, J.Lo and I only strolled up a mile or two. Although the sounds of the freeway were annoying at the start of the route, we did come across some beautiful scenic points. Considering its accessibility, I do plan to come back as a means to effectively bludgeon these disgusting chindren back into the dark and dismal hole from where they originated.

This has turned into a regular hike for me and takes about two and a half hours to the top of the Verdugos and back.
Its not as steep as the Whiting Woods trail and not as sun exposed. Several areas of shade, canyons and trees on the first couple of miles. If you're going to hike in the Verdugos during the summer months, this is the best trail to be on.
I liked this trail a lot. It starts parallel with the 210 and then gradually winds its way up to a range of peaks with stunning views of the L.A. basin. As you traverse the ridge line you are afforded great views of the valley all the way out west to the ocean on your right and the San Gabriel Mountains on your left. Great trail.

This trail is easy to find, right off the 210 freeway, yet quickly ascends to tranquil quiet and great views of the ocean horizon, many chaotic LA miles away. A great workout, but not too horribly strenuous, it links up to various fire-road trails throughout the Verdugo mountain range allowing hikers various routes after the initial climb.
