I love their food so much, really clean taste
If you like Asian food but no yuckky oil taste I recommend this healthy food place
but the price little higher than other restaurant around that area, I love their 'mint chicken' it cost 8.95 with the tax 9 buck something, that I think I can't pay for the food close to 10 buck on every lunch.
Anyway their more dishes you can select, it might be lower.
Also don't forget to order fresh squeeze Orange juice, it just so gooood !!
WHO KNEW Brisbane had yummy Vietnamese food? And they do catering?! So I can order them in for my work meetings, or head over for lunch on my break!
The food was yummy and as they promise on the menu, "We will delight and nourish guests with a delicious and nutritious meal."
I doubt the chicken salad I got in an attempt to be somewhat South Beach friendly plays by the rules with it's sugary dressing. Maybe I'll get Pho next time, that's pretty good for me, right?
We shared garlic noodles, shrimp toasts, some chicken and mint dish with rice, the deep fried and the soft rolls, and the aforementioned salad. Every dish was delish. And nutritious apparently.
Le Tre is a favorite of my company whenever we get catered, and as such, I am drawn on days I crave Pho or Spring Rolls.
The service is quick, friendly and attentive.
The portions are VERY generous in my opinion and I always seems to leave with extra for an afternoon snack!
I recommend the Pho (#2) and their noodle salads as well as the garlic noodles which are full of veggie and meat goodness.
It can get crowded during the lunch rush, but they have plenty of seating so never fear.
I thought my friend was joking when he said there was a good Asian restaurant in Brisbane. I mean, where can it be? In between the various business parks, hiding? Well, he was right. Brisbane actually has more than homes and offices. They have Le Tre. :)
Le Tre is a place to go for one on one lunches or even group meals. The service is great, the Pho is awesome and their portions are a good size. Then again, I have a tiny appetite even with my most favorite of foods.
My favorites are the Pho, Spring roll, and Vegetable noodles.
I don't know about crowded, I guess I keep on missing the lunch time rush?
I decided to try this place because a bunch of co-workers were going their for lunch.
I'm definitely not a fan of Vietnamese food and when I viewed the menu it further confirmed it for me.
The place was very nice. Located on a small store front of Brisbane. When you actually go inside it's much bigger than it looks from the outside.
Since there were a lot of us we were seated in the back that had a huge round table.
As everything was foreign to me, I can't quite remember what I ordered/ate, I just know I didn't like it and was the only one who didn't.
My coworkers love this place and go faithfully.
Thanks but I'll stick to my guns and pass on the Vietnamese unless someone can recommend/take me to a good one.
[A-only review]
Overpriced business lunch destination.
I really hate to give such a tough review, but I have to tell it like it is. Over the past three years, I've come to this restaurant hoping it got better. Some of my colleagues like this place, so I occasionally tag along (while holding my tongue). Many of them think this place is great-- the flavors are decent, but way overpriced. $7-8 for a mediocre, small bowl of Pho. If it was gourmet Pho like Le Colonial, perhaps, I'd be more inclined to give a positive review. However, it's watered-down and skimpy on the toppings. The garlic noodles dish is rather plain and the spring rolls lack the punch of the more traditional Vietnamese restaurants.
The reason I am a bit disappointed is because this place confuses me. The decor is great-- the owner did a fantastic job on the place-- however, it portrays itself as an upper-middle tier restaurant (hence, the pricing). I know the chef wants to cater to the more non-Asian palettes and takes the conservative approach to his cuisine, but he does the business a disservice by making the taste so uninspired (i.e. bland). Le Tre has a chance to cater to both Vietnamese cuisine lovers and casual business lunchers.
I am tempted to give only one-star because I cannot imagine how a place like this gets four stars (I want to balance the ratings out). My wife and I are Yelp Elites and the rating makes a mockery of Yelp. If you come to this restaurant thinking this warrants four stars and the "Yelp" sticker, you'll be in for an unpleasant surprise. This place is good... maybe even deserving of three stars, but four stars insult the other good Brisbane restaurants up the hill on Visitacion Ave.
Future reviewers: please review fairly!
I should've reviewed this place a long time ago, but haven't gotten around to it. I LOVE this place. The staff is super friendly and very on top of their service. While I was pregnant with my daughter, I was addicted to their #19 - Vermicelli w/ bbq pork and imperial rolls. It is the best that I've had compared to any other Vietnamese restaurant. The company I work for also gets food catered from them, so I've tried a few of their dishes and they are all very good. I definitely recommend their #19 and their garlic noodles. YUM!
Super friendly owner. Some friends of mine are regulars, and they get treated as friends. Very laid back owner, good atmosphere, good service. The portions aren't massive, especially compared to a lot of hole in the wall joints, but then again, La Tre isn't a hole in the wall joint. It's a Vietnamese restaurant in a strip mall, and the exterior is quite plain, but when you step inside, it's very very nice. A lot larger, and a lot classier than the exterior would lead you to believe. Portion size = what you should be eating, if not less. You leave satisfied, not stuffed and hurting. That's a good thing.
If you are looking for a place to eat on a date, this place would not embarrass you. It's that swank. in a strip mall....
If you don't work nearby though, you might not ever stop in, but if you do, you'll be pleasantly surprised.
It's the food-- hands down. My absolute favorite dish in this restaurant is garlic noodles with barbeque pork or chicken. I always walk home happy after a tasty lunch at La Tre.
The place is very presentable and clean. I love the many booths you can choose from. It almost makes me feel like I booked a private dining room in an exclusive Asian restaurant. The service is normally courteous and fast, except on one occasion when they didn't seem to have their s_ _t together for some reason.
The price is quite reasonable. If they were open for dinner, I would come more often.
I was not impressed, by the rude treatment I received, after very politely mentioning to the waiter my Thai Iced Tea tasted a bit off. He begrudgingly took my glass away, and didn't bother to ask if I might like something else. When he served my overpriced Pho, I nearly laughed at it's diminutive size! I bit my tongue instead, which was good, because my blood added to the Pho's lackluster flavor!
I love this place - we used to have them deliver to our office on Fridays and just went today for lunch. The chicken with mint and rice ROCKS
Delis Delis! Yum, Yum, YuM!
Best Vietnamese ever, I totally say get a plate of the traditional spring rolls which has the greatest peanut sauce, makes my eyes roll back to my head.
The food is really good it not over seasoned or like oily at all.
Great service they are all so friendly.
I came back again (i had to come back!) on friday and the food was good as usual and the service was great. Michael (you'll find him running around..working hard) is super nice and he really makes you feel like your part of the family! =) love this place!

I've been coming to this place for awhile now! Ever since they first opened.. The pho here is really… Read more »
I'm that person who hates going to a restaurant with sticky floors and tables but the food is good. Even if it's good, if the spot is grimy I'm not the one. I happened to visit this restaurant for the first time after casting many a side eye at this strip mall which happens to be a home for second rate sushi and sad thai food,. Husbandido comes here regularly and took me with him to experience what he does sometimes 5 times a week.
Okay. It's good. Really. I was impressed with the service, the quality of the food, and not to mention that it's only a hop skip and a jump from the crib. This always helps me when I'm ready to die because there's nothing at home. I had the sauteed chicken and veggies, and boy was I thrilled to see tofu. Love love LOVE tofu. Husbandido had pho and holy crap that was a big ass bowl. Ooh, and the place is clean! Yippee!
I'll be back to try other things. If you're there at lunch apparently it's mad crowded, but we went after the rush and didn't feel cramped in the least. The food comes out quickly and the staff is attentive without being creepy. Be back! Wish it was open for dinner, but hey, that's life. And it is Brisbane, after all.
Had the most delicious Vietnamese pork sandwich I have ever had ($7.50, IIRC). Their baguettes are very fresh, crispy, soft and awesome; the pork is solid and they don't skimp on the cilantro, jalapenos, cucumbers, etc. I'm not sure if I was just really thirsty but I definitely thought their Thai iced tea was better than any I've ever had, and I didn't even think that would be possible given how simple it is.
As a Brisbane resident, I felt like I should give this place a try... (To give you some context, I'm from Houston originally, and I've had a ton of great Vietnamese food.) It was okay -- good summer rolls (the cold ones) and peanut sauce; the grilled pork had too much lemongrass seasoning on it (grassy flakes stuck in my teeth!), but it was cooked to the right degree of tenderness. The prices were so-so, but that's pretty much the cost of running a restaurant in Brisbane (it's hard to survive!), so I don't mind too much.
I'm willing to return and try some other dishes, like the garlic noodles. I'm not a big pho person, so I probably won't bother with that. I'll update my review when I've tried more of the food!
I dined here on a Saturday evening with my husband. The place was empty! We quickly moved toward a booth and checked out the menu. I decided to go with regular Pho Tai and spring rolls to compare them with Kevin's Pho House (Westlake Shopping area, Daly City).
The spring rolls were better because they were fresh and didn't have the chewy, rubbery feel I had gotten sort of used to at Kevin's, and the Pho bowl was generous and contained more meat.
La Tre was very, very clean. There wasn't a crumb on the floor. No complaints there. I noticed high chairs stacked in the distance. We could bring our baby son here, no problem.
I would definitely come back; it's a better dining experience!
Wow, my 1st review...finally!
Before I begin, let's just say that "convenience and location" earn an automatic 2 Stars when you're working a 10+ hr day and have no time for lunch.
Since La Tre's indoor face-lift, this lunch locale has become one of my company's all-time favorites! Feeling like the usual greasy burger and fries just won't cut it? Then head-out to La Tre where "healthy" is their middle name! Well...it is in Vietnamese of course! Actually, does anyone know how to say "healthy" in Vietnamese? I want to impress the restaurant manager next time I'm there...
Last week, I ordered-out 4 times in a row and now, all they ask is that infamous, comforting question - "the usual?" I've liked everything I've tried including what I've taste-tested off of my friend's plates. I especially enjoy #19 with prawns and lots of x-tra sauce, as well as #17 without cilantro and lots of x-tra sauce! YUMMY! Oh and try as many apps as possible! You'll leave without any regrets...but you WILL have major food coma in the afternoon so send someone out for a Starbucks or Peet's run if you can!
I'd avoided this restaurant for a while mainly because of some unfavorable input from friends and reviews here and also because it seemed sequestered away in a dark forboding corner. But my roommate, a grade school friend of ours and I figured we'd give it a shot after a long hard day last Friday night. And you know what, it ain't bad!
I went with the comfortable choice of pho with beef steak which came with a bushel of fresh basil, sprouts and jalapeno. The entrees are a bit pricy compared to the cafeteria style joints in the South Bay. It's not the most spectacular pho ever but it's fairly decent and satisfying.
The interior decor is fairly fine and polished except for the white ceiling tiles that remind one of the office one is seeking refuge from in the first place.
When we asked for dessert, we were told that it is not served on Friday nights. Maybe I am a bit naive and not savvy to the world of the restaurant business, but wouldn't there be more demand for dessert on a Friday of all nights?
-------ADDENDUM------
I originally gave 3 stars, but now that I think about it, this place really deserves 4. Aside from the lack of dessert, the experience was pleasant and there was nothing else to complain about.
Interestingly enough, La Tre actually messaged me in regards to this review- that has to be worth something!
I love the garlic noodles, imperial rolls, and of course the Thai Iced tea. The service is quick and attentive. The prices are affordable. And the look of the restaraunt is cute and simple.
Overall, the place is a great restaraunt for either dining out on a date, with friends, or simply a quick bite for lunch!
You go LA TRE!
I was craving Pho today so I looked in Yelp and found The Mayflower on Ocean Ave. I took 2 steps in and ran out. I was looking for a Vietnamese restaurant that served Pho not Pancakes with a side of Pho.
I remembered La Tre next to my work that I haven't tried. LET'S GO!!
Decore: Clean, bright, functional and a large golden sculpture of Buddha's head on the wall. It's not a cafeteria style Pho house (Which I like) but it's nice.
Service: Nice, quick and attentive service. Good enough for my needs. I dropped a spoon and they replaced it promptly.
Pho Tai: One size only; JUMBO. That's fine with me since I usually order the large anyways. It had a lot of soup, some slices of brisket and a nice portion of thin rice noodles (Yay! I hate fat noodles in pho). It came with a good portion of bean sprouts, basil, slices jalapeño and LEMON.
WTF! Why San Francisco (and surrounding areas), why!? Why do the Vietnamese Pho houses insist on serving pho with lemon not lime? Pho is better with LIME.
**I asked 2 different waiters if they have limes in the kitchen but like 90% of the pho houses I've been to around San Francisco... no dice.
The soup was light but it the flavor got stronger as I ate it. The lemon wedge sucked but the broth was hot and hit the spot. Also, it didn't have the 7 spices taste to it, AWSOME! I like my pho minimal: No additional sauce, no chicken hot sauce, no plum sauce. The reason one eats pho is for the broth not the sauces.
I ate under Buddha's watchful golden eyes and I swear I heard him whispering "Lime~". I ate the whole thing, broth and all. That huge bowl of pho was empty. It had no chance against me, "Pho Killer."
I gave this place 3 stars. If they had limes it would have been 4 stars. If you like lemons in your pho (you're sick) it will be a 4 star restaurant for you.
**UPDATE****************************************** ****
They started using LIMES!
Sweet! The pho is awesome.
Solid 4 stars.

I was totally craving a bowl of pho tai today, and this place was closest place I know of next to my office @ Monster Park.
It's not one of those Vietnamese places that has the bin of chopsticks and spoons on the table, or a tray full of sauces and spices to decorate your bowl with. This is the type of place that gives you a glass of water with a slice of lemon versus some small cups and a pot of tea. This place was actually clean. When it comes to looking for a hole-in-the-wall type mom/pop run joint with some good home-cookin flavored pho, is this the type of place you really want to be at?
I ordered a bowl of pho tai. The damn bowl was $8. Perhaps it was my socal upbringings, or perhaps I am truly a cheapass, but $8 for a bowl of pho tai? What do they put in there?
The bowl was medium-sized. I had like maybe 3 pieces of flank steak, and they were not very tender. In fact I had to fight with one of them for a while. The broth was bland and the overall experience was just like whatever.
People always ask me where they can find good pho around these parts and I can never give an answer. I still don't have an answer. I'll continue to be looking for another armpit hole-in-the-wall place for pho.
meh
Located in the tiny strip mall, as you enter brisbane, right off Bayshore. It's a large tan building with frosted bamboo print windows. Since I could never see inside, I always drove by it. But I finally decided to give it a try.
Pleasant decor and excellent food. I tried the imperial rolls (deep fried rolls), mint chicken and garlic noodles! Everything tasted terrific! This place is a real find! If you're in Brisbane and want something besides a sandwich for lunch, definitely try this place. It is quick, clean and tasty! They also cater and deliver.
I'm thrilled that Brisbane is hometown to this yummy Vietnamese restaurant!
This isn't a hole in wall so the prices are higher than what you would normally pay for Vietnamese food. However, the food is not up to par and the pho is horrible.
Oh, they also charge for tea?!
A great improvement over the last spot here, and really fresh food. The Vermicelli Bowl with Imperial Rolls is fabulous - although I like to request extra veggies in order to feel more virtuous.
A nice switch from Mangiare and ridiculously clean, which I love.
We went here for the first time on a dead day (dinnertime during the weekend) in early September.
The service was fabulous -- all of what we ordered came quick and fast .. we were the only ones there.
The decor was great -- looks like this restaurant was recently remodeled and is well-maintained and clean.
Unfortunately, our food was not up to par. My father-in-law received a rotten (black meat) crab claw in his soup. When we brought this to the attention of the waiter, he brought a replacement crab claw in a small bowl of soup and apologized.
The restaurant is very kid-friendly. The cook made our daughter some fried wontons which she loved!
Prices are reasonable for a nicer, sit-down Vietnamese restaurant.
We will go back again and, hopefully, be able to revise our rating.
came here with all the coworkers for a farewell luncheon. the boss called ahead and made a reservation, we arrived shortly and our group of 14 was seated immediately. my first impressions were, our host (the manager) is very very friendly and extra helpful with all the ordering questions, and the place is clean!
i had the # 19) Vermicelli with Grilled Pork & Egg Roll (Bun Cha Gio Thit Nuong) and a thai iced tea. my food came out in a huge bowl and all eyes were on me hahaha
food was great. and from what i heard everyone else enjoyed their food as well. so no complaints here. if im ever back in this part of town ill be sure to stop by again.
Considering the 4 1/2 star rating a Vietnamese(?) place in Sunnyvale is receiving, this place deserves 9 1/2 stars.
Excellent food/price, clean interior, good service. The three critical ingredients of a good restaurant by my standard. The price may be a couple dollars higher than other Vietnamese, but well worth it.
The shrimp toast and the grilled shrimp goi-cuon were one of the best I've ever had. It comes with special dipping sauce which is pretty gourmet, not too fish.
Their Pho choice was limited but the Pho Dac Viet had superb meat quality with clean rich broth. Also one of the best Pho I've ever had.
Even the beverages were all exceptional - Thai iced tea, coffee, lemonade, etc. I'll try spicy noodle soup next time per the waiter's recommendation.
I found this place while I was in a training class nearby. Lucky there's at least one good clean Vietnamese restaurant in the bay area.
I don't regret the two occasions of having driven all the way there just to find out they were already closed for the day. Their hours are very short, but the food is worth every minute. Perhaps this could be a new formula for spotting a good restaurant.
This is primarily based on my exposure to their food during the catered lunches that my work provides. The Vietnamese sandwiches (especially the tofu ones), the ground pork and jalapeno's,and garlic noodles are delicious. Definitely the highlight of my workday whenever it's in the lunch room. The Bun is just okay though.
I ordered 5 full order trays from La Tre for my wife's birthday. Shrimp toast and imperial rolls were my favorites. It easily fed 30 people. They delivered right on time and the food was great. Great communication leading up to the event. I'd definitely order from them again!
My favorite is the Shanken Beef and the Shrimp toast. It's Super!!!!
This is the best ever Vitnamese food! I love the shrimp toast and the garlic noodles are to die for. I have done numerous catering stints with Le Tre and they have been always professional and top notch. I have not been in the restaurant, but I can only imagine it would be great too.
Since my job moved from South San Francisco to Brisbane at the beginning of the year, I have eaten at La Tre at least one a week. The food is really delicious... Not too oily but full of flavor.. You can always count on the fresh food. I never get that grossed out full feeling after eating lunch here.. It's hard to say what my favorite dish is... But I do have a liking for the Vermicelli with Grilled Pork & Egg Roll. Pork is grilled to perfection over tender noodles. The Egg Roll is full of shrimp, carrots, pork .. So delicious.. The service is great and if you call in your order by 10:45am you can ask them to deliver it to your office. Now that's service..
This pho place is more expensive than the run of the mill pho shops in sf and sj. I give 1 star for the decor and another star for the quick service. We both ordered the wonton soup. I ordered mine with the rice noodles and it came with shrimp wontons, bbq pork slices, and shrimp. It was ok. The house made broth was a little too sweet for my taste buds. And the portions were not that great. Usually pho shops gives customer a choice of noodle bowl sizes. Here, it is one size. I thought they were a little stingy on the noodles. Maybe I have been spoiled at the other places !
I love this restaurant. It's nestled in the small quiet area Brisbane which is conveniently close to where we live. The Pho is terrific and so are all the different spring rolls. I can't comment much on any of the other dishes yet because I can't pass up their pho. The owners are really great folks. I can't wait to use their catering services.
ONCE in a GREAT WHILE, if YOU are LUCKY, YOU CAN FIND HIDDEN TREASURE & SERENDIPITY.
I DEFINITELY FOUND BOTH at La TRE. The FOOD is SUBLIME. I SAY this as SOMEONE who has SAMPLED TONs of VIETNAMESE RESTAURANTs or PHO JOINTs THROUGHOUT the BAY AREA, RANGING from the DOWNRIGHT NASTY & "SKUNKY" (the moldy cardboard taste you find at some hole-in-the-wall asian joints that don't care about the quality of their food) to this, La TRE, the MECCA, the NIRVANA. I GIVE SUCH HIGH PRAISE to La TRE c/ the CHEF & MATRON of the RESTAURANT is a MASTER CRAFTSMAN in the TRUEST & BEST SENSE of the WORD. YOU CAN'T AVOID TASTING the CARE & PRIDE she TAKEs in her COOKING, by the FRESHNESS of her INGREDIENTs & the IMMACULATELY CLEAN RESTAURANT she PROVIDEs for her CUSTOMERs. My WIFE & I HAVE been WORKING our WAY THROUGH the MENU, but each of us HAVE BECOME STUCK for AWHILE on CERTAIN DISHEs. She got STUCK on the SHAKEN BEEF, WHILE I got STUCK on all of the APPETIZERs. I am GRATEFUL that this PLACE is NOT "FRU FRU". The ATMOSPHERE is RELAXING, MAINLY DUE to the MAITRE D', MARCUS, who is a REALLY COOL DUDE. La TRE can be BEST DESCRIBED as a BISTRO & is ABSOLUTELY "APPOINTMENT DINING".
I'm Vietnamese and I try all different Vietnamese restaurants every where I travel. This place has friendly customer service, is clean, and the food is good. Marcus, my waiter was really friendly.
The frosted glass door etched with bamboo was a nice touch, definitely a precursor of what delights lay behind closed doors......
Clean, bright, and nicely decorated interior. The vibe is calming. soothing and inviting, however the music was a bit quirky. It started with Dancing Queen and segued into a traditional Indian number then into a Mexican mariachi number (made us laugh but was not distracting, it was actually kinda cool after a while). Our food was brought to our table very quickly after ordering makes me woner if it was prepared ahead of time and just reheated......hmmmmm. The chicken curry was good, not great just good. The shrimp toast was divine. Yummy yum yum!!!I The baguette was crunchy on the outside and tender inside. The shrimp topper was delectable. mmmmm.
I've been back since and ordered their chicken Pho and was underwhelmed. The broth was boring and had too many green onions. Their fresh spring rolls were very good. It seems lunch is their big draw, however it's never been packed. I'm hoping they stick around. Aparently there have been several businesses here in the last few years. Brisbane is a hard place for a restaurant. I'll be back to try a few other things. Over all three stars.
My husband found this restaurant from a YELP reviewer. We've lived in Brisbane for almost 2 years and have eaten here before & didn't like it. But then after coming in again we realized the owner has changed. The restaurant is clean & the staff very friendly. In fact, it is an authentic Vietnamese restaurant owned by real Vietnamese! The spring rolls, Imperial rolls & garlic noodles are my favorite. The sauces are also home made.
I recommend the Shaken beef with rice. It's not really a homey environment; pretty cold. You could tell the place was renovated a couple of times. I've seen restaurants come and go in that space. Pho is okay, I've had better. It's not crowded- that's what I liked most.
