Review from Jordan N.
This is a weird one to review... simply because after visiting this store, I still don't have an idea of why it exists since it seems more of a communal place with some trinkets to sell....
But let me tell you something. It's interesting. It's weird. And it's still an "average" store - not so out of the world, but still is somewhat out of the world....
How? Well, like I said - it's an unassuming store, inside and out. But what it stocks makes it much more interesting in one way or more plain in another... it all depends on what items you're looking at. There are small statues (fairies, roman/greek, etc), jewelry, interesting lamps, swords and axes on the wall, English armours, Indian chairs, and even mummy caskets!
So what are they selling? Basically mystical things - some that appears to be very mystical and some others that just looks a little too ordinary to be mystical. There's tarot service on the spot as well, if you're interested in that.
And in the backroom there's an out-of-the-world experience... with two fake pharaohs looking upon you, with "fiery" lamps on the wall. Even the ceiling is painted in such a twisted and interesting way to accentuate the feeling that you're being commanded by the pharaohs.
And there's some seating for those who are interested in just getting together and relax. Maybe while one person is getting a tarot reading? I also noticed some books in the store (mainly Spanish books) that spoke of Wiccans, the Apocalyse, and all that sort.
If you're interested in venturing out into the "netherworld," this place may have at least a guide to help you out. There's also a smaller store next door (which I didn't go into) that seemed to be mystical as well (but it's a different owner). That store seems to focus more on religious and Native American mysticism. So basically, you can make a small and short field trip to see what's going on in this corner of Miami!
And it will probably be a really short field trip since there isn't really that much to see. Nevertheless, I give this place 4 stars for being "different" and for even trying. The staff is friendly, but beware, you may encounter a staff that speaks only in Spanish. However, there should be a bilingual staff on site as well. And if you need to call them, I was given this number, 305-267-4460.
