Not really a big fan of La Salsa or Baja Fresh or the like, but I have to say the food was pretty good on this visit.

I had the Two Tacos Platter. I got it with steak. The tacos were pretty big and really tasty. I tried it with some mild salsa and medium salsa. They have a Cranberry Salsa, but I wasn't feeling it because it didn't seem fitting to the ethnicity of the food.

Service was a bit slow. Waited a little longer than I thought we should have. Otherwise, a good fresh tasting meal.

My favorite thing on the menu is the flautas with guacamole.  Everything is on the expensive side *Cough pv cough* and parking and staff is whatevers.  The place is usually not that busy and has nothing that stands out.  You can get tremendous amounts of food for the price you pay here elsewhere, but if you are looking for convenience, this place is a good choice for call in and pick up (since no drive thorough in PV).  Salsa bar is good and my favorite is the guacamole flavored and mango (both mild) salsa.

Bottom Line: Again it's not a place I'd take anyone, but since it is close by, this place works as a call in and pick up joint since it is convenient.  You're looking at about a $12 meal that may not stuff you so I can't say I'm hooked for this place.

I come here whenever I am craving mexican food but do not want to eat super unhealthy.  My only gripe is that they do not always get my order correct and unless its something like nachos where I can clearly see its wrong and can get them to correct it, I have to take my chances that its right when I get home.

How are there so many mediocre reviews here?!  Oh right, old people and children in PV aren't really high on yelp usage.  This is the best La Salsa location ever.  When I occasionally find myself in the area, I always stop by and pick up the California Burrito. Super generous portion, with very fresh ingredients, fast, friendly (easy when compared to LA locales), and I can't forget to mention, mango salsa!  Nothing to complain about! :^)

Expensive. Beans are bland. Flour tortillas suck. The salsas are alright and offer more variety than Rubio's. Maybe I'll give it another whirl if I get that bored with Rubio's and feel like ballin'.....

You know, there was a time when I thought La Salsa was great. As authentic as you can get for fast Mexican food. The time was 1996 and I was 18 and working at a mall. That was 14 years ago.

So I decided to relive my youth and stop by La Salsa today. That was 4 hours ago and I still have the heart burn to remind me of my bad judgement.

I ordered their Steak Nachos. The Nacho's didn't seem to be that expensive but once you add on the steak, Ka-Ching, $9 bucks gone from your wallet and that is without a drink!

My Nachos looked pretty sad and colorless. The chips were pretty bland and sad. The beans were lacking flavor. The cheese came from this preshredded package, there was the smallest portion of guacamole and sour cream, and the steak....oh the steak. From what I remember, the steak used to have this char grilled look and taste to it but this steak had a bit of a rubbery taste to it and was not grilled at all.

At least they were kind enough to leave me with a parting gift of heartburn that is still hanging with me as I write this.

Never again will I be stopping into a La Salsa. I suppose just like your childhood toys, La Salsa is something you eventually grow out of.

My fallback spot when I am sitting at home during my CK lunches***.

It whispers sweet nothings into my ear on a daily basis when I ascend the Hill. I ignore it most of the time, but a few days ago I was taking one of the above lunches and I was hungry like the wolf.

I parked nearby and was actually headed to Subway when I witnessed the line from hell. It said, "Don't even fucking try it dude." This time I heeded La Salsa's voice and entered. Typical Mexican fare with a twist.

Some of the menu items include Baja Fish Tacos, Baja Style Shrimp, and Overstuffed Grilled Burrito. The burrito is my favorite because of the size.....a double-portion of chicken, steak, or carnitas, Habanero Jack cheese, salsa and guacamole, wrapped in a tortilla.

The Carnitas Guadalajara with soft tortillas was what I ordered on my last visit, but that's not what I received. Chain restaurants are the bane of my existence and Mexican chain restaurants fall into this frightening category.....

    Ugh.

***Note: CK lunches last at least an hour and a half.

Soft taco with grilled shrimp.  That was my meal for the day.  Two of them, in fact.
I was ravenous, doing errands all morning on an empty stomach, could not imagine poking around T J Maxx, my last stop, faint from hunger.
Fast food never tasted so good.  The tacos were even topped with a generous slice of avocado.  They had the perfect amount of shredded cheese and cabbage.  I squeezed lime wedges on top.
I love the salsa at La Salsa that is made with just tomato, onion and cilantro.  I ate three little bowls of it with a spoon, like soup.
I rarely drink soda, but today I went for broke and had a root beer.

Shrimp tacos and root beer.  It doesn't get any better.  Life is effin sweet.

Since I started working at the tutoring agency in this plaza, I've been drawn into everyone else's bad habit of eating at La Salsa every friggin' day.

In the beginning, I was entirely unimpressed by their food and painfully slow service, but once I wrapped my lips around the Grande burrito with chicken, black beans, extra rice, no sour cream, no lettuce, I was a believer.

I've eaten their fajita quesadillas. Good but not worth the price.

3 taquito platter for $7. Pffft. No thanks.

Overstuffed Grilled Burritos. Bland Taco Bell immitaion. Both are bad.

Shrimp Veracruz burrito. Good enough but a bit too busy on the tongue.

Love the HOT Habanero salsa. Hot sauces and salsas make everything better. Avocado salsa isn't bad either.

Service is slower than a turtle stuck in syrup so call your order in at least 15 minutes in advance. Avoid the lunch crowd if you can. Otherwise you'll be stuck in line and waiting for your order for 20 to 30 minutes (speaking from experience).

This place is always consistent. I usually hit it on a weekend after I know the local TJ Maxx is restocked :p

The burritos' are great here, but if you are watching your figure , I highly suggest the Chile' Lime salad with chicken. It has a light ranchy cilantro dressing to die for. The chicken is tender and flavorful and it comes with fresh avocado and lots of tomatoes (YUM). The chips are warm and yummy and not salty, exactly the way I like them.

La Salsa at RHE now has the little buzzer thingees that tell you when your order is ready so you can relax outside at one of their tables in the breezeway under an umbrella. Life does not suck in the RHE.

I had the three taquitos for lunch.  They were good and kept me full all day.  I was hoping for a fajita bowl like I get at Chipotle, but overall I was happy even though the taquitos are deep fried.

No one likes writing reviews for a one star.

Its Thursday. No line. My friend orders, pays, sits down. We talk, people come in and out. The phone is ringing and people keep picking up orders to go. Its busy, but you wouldn't know.  The cashier sees us sitting, sitting, talking. 45 minutes rolls on by. My friend has to leave, she goes to the counter and asks.

He says the order never went through to the back. Um. he took the order and the money. We wait and never get buzzed.  He comes out to give us the food 3 minutes later. Sorry.

    Yes, so are we.

When I'm in serious need of Mexican fare, but don't want to drive outside of the peninsula, or want to spend more than $15, then I head to La Salsa Fresh Meh-hee-kahn Grill.

I used to be so underwhelmed by La Salsa, but boy have they changed in the past two years!! Ingredients are fresher, the salsas are delectable (I like 'em muy caliente, and they have spice-heat that I seek), and the staff is incredibly friendly and efficient!

I'm a fan of their fish, shrimp, and veggie burritos, and their fish tacos are very good as well; the tacos taste just like how the defunct Salsa Ria (used to be across the Galleria on Artesia Blvd.; where Quizno's currently stands) used to make them! It's all about the sauce.

I say this place is muy bueno.

I have been here numerous times and it is always good. The best are the chicken taquitos. They are plump and just crispy enough. They are not greasy at all, which is a huge plus in my book. The variety of salsas are wonderful because there is something for everyone. Right now they have a spicy cranberry salsa which is absolutely yummy! The staff was so friendly and helpful. The manager even came by and asked how our food was, then took our tray and plates for us! I will continue to come back here for years to come.

their food is delicious and comes in a huge portion for a good price. the last time i came with my friends, i left my cell phone and the employee was nice enough to call me and remind me. that's a sign of good service! try their chili fries with extra cheese! although not considered healthy, it's definitely delicious! and they have a station for different condiments and sauces, where you can keep going back for more!

however, if you want a good price for a good deal of food, walk to taco bell (next to pavilions) which is located in the same shopping center. taco bell's food is (in my opinion) better & the price is cheaper too.

It's like I've been living under a rock or something???  Why haven't I been here before?  Everyone I know has...what's my deal?

Well, I finally found myself at La Salsa last week for the first time and I'm pissed!  Pissed I've been missing out.  I love the all-white meat chicken soft tacos and the 5 or so different salsas offered at the salsa bar.  So far that's all I've tried, but I have no doubt I'll be back.
