My experience with hotel started off as a strange one.  My friend in college, who was leaving for the Christmas holidays the same day/time as me, after everyone else had already gone home, was going to share a hotel room with me on our last night, after the dorms had closed. She then convinced me that we didn't need a hotel - even though the 'culture house' she lived in was uni property so they'd change locks for the holidays and it'd close like everything else on campus, she'd leave her fire escape window ajar, we could go and watch a movie then pop back in through the fire escape.  Spend the last night in comfort, and save moolah. "Why not?" I thought.

WELL. I guess we underestimated the lockup staff since they slammed that fire escape shut and locked it so tight we'd never get back in.  Dilemma - we couldn't even get back in to get our stuff - and it was freezing/snowing! We used the secret code we weren't supposed to know to get us back in the house. Victory! Or... not.  The code had set off a silent alarm, and before we knew it, campus cops were banging at the door, breathing down our necks, and yelling at us. Um, oops.

My friend panicked, and we didn't want to go all the way to the city and spend a fortune on a last-minute room - it was already 1am! I suddenly remembered this place from a hotel listing I'd seen when coordinating an orientation, and EUREKA! It was our saviour.  I called up, confirmed they had a room for us, and we hopped in a cab and finally relaxed after our harried night there.  In comfort, got clean, got a good night's sleep, and had a good laugh about our stupid situation. And all that for less than $100 for the big double room with two full beds, included breakfast, free internet and a free shuttle to the airport the next day. We'll always be grateful that this hotel was there and beyond our expectations.

Sure, it's not a fancy nice 5 star hotel or even a 4 star feeling, but it's clean, it's inexpensive (you won't pay more than $100 a night), it's not scenic but the location is convenient especially if you need to go to/from the airport and need a one night stay.  The rooms are pretty big, the beds are comfy, free internet, they provide breakfast and it's pretty decent (and the breakfast room is bright and clean but not hospital-bright, welcoming bright!) and the staff is really friendly, polite, accomodating and generally nice.

I wouldn't go to this hotel for pleasure - I mean, it's NOT a luxury hotel. So it really depends on your situation and what kind of hotel you're looking for.  But when you need a hotel with a comfy bed to rest your pretty little head that satisfies all the factors above, it's actually a pretty good place to go.

If you're visiting Boston and looking for a place on the outskirts that's cheap and affordable- then this La Quinta may do. Hotel rates are a bargain compared to downtown Boston rates, plus you get free parking here! You get complimentary Wi-Fi access and complimentary continental breakfast. On top of all this, there is even a free shuttle to the nearest 'T Line'(train) station.

With the low rates, free parking and wi-fi- this place may deserve a 4 star rating- but this La Quinta bummed me out a little bit. See, the shuttle is an amazing free service added to your hotel stay- but not if it takes light years to pick you up.

My Girlfriend and I came back from Boston and arrived at the 'T Line' shuttle pick-up point a little past 10 PM(the scheduled pick up time). When we arrived, there were some other La Quinta hotel guests who were still there waiting for the shuttle. We asked if the shuttle had come already? They said no, but it should have come already, and that they'd been waiting for about 10 minutes already. Time passes and both parties begin calling La Quinta to find out if they'd forgotten about us. The phone lines keep ringing but nobody answers from La Quinta. Time goes by, and around 10:20 PM we start talking about taking a taxi.  We called La Quinta several more times, finally getting thorough. They say "He's at the airport right now and he is en route". We wait about 20 more minutes until he arrives. Once we did get picked- around 10:45 PM- there were no apologizes for the ridiculously long wait or for leaving their hotel guests stranded at a dark, not-so-safe-at-night-appearing train station. What really bummed me out is they're only located about two miles away, but being unfamiliar with this neighborhood i certainly didn't want to walk. And also, I noticed they have two shuttles, so why couldn't the second shuttle pick us up earlier? What gives La Quinta?

I have experienced better hotels, and leaned on giving it 2 stars due to this experience- but the hotel is nice and this may have just been an isolated incident. I believe that if you're a tourist looking for a nice yet affordable hotel with free perks like Wi-Fi and Parking, this one will do! I may stay here again, but will think twice about the shuttle.

Really friendly and competent staff, but I was really bugged by the lighting. The hotel is to be commended for using compact florescents in their fixtures, but the selection of bulbs was done ineptly. The lamp on the bedside table had a 5000K (daylight, very blue) bulb with terrible color rendering (CRI). Other bulbs elsewhere were just as sickly. It's now possible to buy excellent CFLs with very good color rendering, but this hotel set back the cause of energy-efficient lighting by 20 years with their poor purchasing. It's a shame that the lighting was so unwelcoming, given the very welcoming staff.

This La Quinta saved my life!  I have stayed at this hotel many times on trips to Boston.  It is convenient to the airport and the city, being right off 93.  The rooms are nice and big, and the beds are uber comfortable.  The staff is mostly female, and they can be a little apathetic at times, but the shuttle drivers are all really nice.

They serve a little breakfast in the morning consisting of breads, teas, cereals and coffee for free.  For dinner, there is a 99 Restaurant across the parking lot that has a lively bar atmosphere.

The best part about the La Quinta is the price.  I never paid over $80 dollars for a room, regardless of when I was there.

Free Internet too!

Not your fancy 5 star hotel, but it does give you everything you need.
I stayed here my last night in Boston on a business trip and it was well worth it.  Affordable, clean, and close to all my needs.
The room was good size and service was friendly and helpful.
They have free shuttle service to the local metro and airport which helped me lots.   They have shopping and a couple restaurants nearby.
Even if you didn't have a car like me, you can still get around by walking.
10 min. walk to the Orange line into Boston.

Nothing fancy, but this hotel is clean and new, with plenty of free parking and your typical amenities.  Our room was decently large with a comfortable bed.  There is a shuttle to the nearby T stop (Sullivan Square), which is a 15 minute walk away and they also provide a shuttle to the airport.
