This is an airport hotel, nothing less, nothing more. It is in an industrial area as are all of the airport hotels. The breakfast was good with make it yourself waffles, bagels, toast, juice, coffe, etc.
There is a Lyons restaurant on the property which has very adequate food. If you want finer amenities, stay at the Hyatt at the airport for 4 times as much and you will have more toiletries and finer linens.
Really important, they had many of the bell boy carts so you could always get one to get you luggage in and out. Once again, the Hyatt has staff (at a price) that will cart your luggage in and out.
For the money, it's a great value. Everyone was very nice to me. Maybe it's because I was nice to them.
The rating is not 3 stars for a resort hotel, it is 3 stars for a moderately priced airport hotel.
We stayed in this hotel last weekend and I hated it. The room was not very clean, the floors were dirty, the tub was dirty, and there was water left standing in the tub when we checked in.
To add insult to injury, the front desk staff was not very courteous.
I would sleep outside in my tent before paying to stay at this hotel again.
This hotel is situated across from the SFO airport. It is not in a great location and sits next to a distribution warehouse of some sort. There is a restaurant in the same parking lot, but we did not have time to check it out (so I do not have info on it). The hotel itself is about 20 years old. The front desk staff was ok (some of the front desk staff not so much). The housekeeping people were very nice, the rooms were of good size and clean. Great place to stay "on the way" somewhere, but wouldn't recommend for a long stay. It is easy access on and off the freeway and there are gas stations very close.
People who complain about this should have stayed at the Hilton. What do u expect for 50 dollars a nite some people just expect to much good place to sleep heated pool and jacuzzi and breakfast but if you got money to throw around stay some where else because you won't like it here and ps if your nice to the employees they will be nice to you enough said
We stayed here for three nights visiting our son. I do have to say, is that we only slept here. We were gone during the day, so we did not stay at the hotel that much. Our room was very spacious, we had enough room for four people. Room was clean, and front desk was nice. This place is not in the best of areas, but for the price I was OK with it. I really can't say anything bad or real good about this hotel. We just didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel itself!

The WORST dump I have ever stayed. Dirty, smelly and loud. No need to say more, don't stay there.
After a great couple of Days in San Francisco it was time to head back to the east coast. The BART dropped us off at SFO, where we called La Quinta for the shuttle service to pick us up... it took a try or two to figure out exactly what the person on the other line was saying. We could hear the touch tone menu fine, but could barely make out the operator.
Either way, 15 minutes later the shuttle turned up.
For 60 bucks this was a clean hotel, conveniently close to the airport with a free shuttle. Ok, so the fact that our room was in the 'other' building... literally across train tracks from the reception was a bit unnerving, but probably contributed to the cheap price.
The absolute best thing about this hotel: Waffles.
They have a complementary breakfast with Waffle Bar!
So, no complaints, love the waffles... whats with the train track?

First off, i have to agree with Kale R, Sarcastic staff, smoked up rooms and outdated rooms.
The La Quinta inn South San Francisco Airport is a hotel were you would stay one night and be ready to hit the road. That's its purpose. It's not a terrible hotel, but I'm going to state my clear opinions on it.
First off, the door to the rooms were odd to operate. Usually when you insert your key a little green light goes on and assures you that the door will open. Needless to say that it didn't work and you needed to push hard on the door to get it open. Thank god my sister was there to figure out how to work it!
Second, there was some thing wrong with the pool. It was extremely annoying that you had to walk across the rocks and parking lot to get to one of the entrances! Second, when we were going to have a dip in the hot-tub, it was dirty and it was freezing! When we stepped into the pool, it was a cross between warm and lukewarm! Odd!
Third, the first floor had an indescribable smell. I can't describe it, but it was there.
Fourth, The rooms were outdated. On the forth floor room 407, I can tell you. The TV was old as the alarm clock not to mention the carpeting, windows, and shower.
Fifth, the free "breakfast" was a lie. Not even coffee as promised. The vending machines were virtually empty from people who thought the "breakfast" was for real.
Sixth (yes I know this is long) The front desk staff were IDIOTS with a capitol I. NO Idea around the hotel. And they are staff! Rude, sarcastic, and plain scary, I hope I don't ever see them again..
Some people might think the things I listed were out of supidity. Well listen up, I'll pay for your room and you tell me.
Now here's a positive thing. The beds were comfy. That's it.
Now for two more negative things.
The thermostat in the rooms were nonresponsive. When we set it to sixty-nine degrees when we went to bed and we woke up and it was blazing hot and turned to almost eighty. WTF?
One last thing is the noise. Located next to a truck stop and 101 PLUS railroad tracks, good luck getting to sleep.

Perfectly serviceable for a one-night airport hotel. The room was relatively clean and about as spartan as I'd expect for a $69 total per night for 4-person occupancy. Very few toiletries to speak of (cheap bar soap and shampoo) but there were enough towels, there's a hairdryer, the water pressure was fine, and the room was relatively spacious. I was a little disappointed with the bedding (there was only one very thin blanket other than the plasticky duvet) and the window treatments (it was impossible to close the thicker curtain to block out the light -- they were designed to only cover the borders of the window, for effect, apparently). Breakfast was fine, if extremely crowded. They did serve bagels, toast, cream cheese, butter, jams, hardboiled eggs, orange juice, coffee, tea, instant hot cocoa, instant oatmeal, yogurt, whole fruit (apples and oranges), as well as make-your-own waffles, which we skipped because there was a long line. Checkout was a cinch.

The front desk should be more knowledgeable of the area and more willing to help. With a little bit more professionalism this could be a much more inviting stay. The shuttle to the airport is free and so is breakfast. They offer room service and there is an ATM conveniently located in the lobby. The back building is smoking only, but you don't really smell it until you reach the upper floors. I stayed on the 4th floor and I loved the view from the north end of the building.

Cool hotel with shuttle service to and from SFO, I like the heated pool and jacuzzi. in the morning you have a hot breakfast with free USA Today, rooms and lobby with free high-speed internet.
There are 2 buildings, if you decide to stay there ask to be on the building with lobby, pool and breakfast... it will make your life easier.
This hotel is very conveniently located near the SFO airport. They provide free shuttle service to and from the airport as well as other amenities.
They offer a hot breakfast in the morning, free newspaper, high-speed internet and a most excellent staff!
We have been using the La Quinta Inn for over a year now. We rent one of their meeting rooms (they have 2) and we have been so impressed with their staff and hotel.
We are always greeted with a smile and if there is ever need of anything, they are more than happy to accomodate. Since we live in San Jose, we've not had to actually stay in the hotel, but this would be my first choice if I were traveling to the area.
They offer competitive rates and quite frequently have online savings that are sent via email to us.
You cannot go wrong staying here!
Oh! There is a pool and a hot tub as well.
They have 2 buildings the main building which is non-smoking and the one in the back is for smoking guests. Very nice! Since we don't smoke, we never have to be near the smell!
Nowhere to park, hard worn out beds, sarcastic attitude at the front desk , non smoking room that smells like an ashtray... What's not to love?
