Whereas our stay at the Alexis Park in Vegas the previous few days was a disaster, our stay here was very, very pleasant. After about 5 hours of driving from Vegas, both myself and my wife grew exhausted. Ahead lay Tehachapi, and the prospect of a good night's sleep to help fortify ourselves for the long drive home the next day. The La Quinta hotel there certainly delivered comfortably, and the person at the desk was very accommodating to our needs.
We awakened refreshed and ready for our complimentary breakfast (that alone saved us a nice chunk of change). With that, we loaded up and went on our way.
Traveling through Tehachapi on your way somewhere? Vegas? Don't hesitate to stop here--you might even find it more pleasant and restful than your "fancy" rundown Sin City suite.
Yea! Thank goodness La Quinta landed in Tehachapi and saved my butt from a night in one of their hell hole little motels! Seriously! Thank you Mark at the front desk for helping to accommodate our needs and getting us a good rate on their king suite. The bf and I were travelling with our dog who has recently taken to barking at strangers, so we needed something that wouldn't require us to be walking in and out of a lobby or common area to potty her and we needed lawn for her little princess tush! Mark and room 164 saved the day and we got everything we needed! The room was nice and clean and the 3 of us all finally had enough room to sleep with a king size bed! We had a sliding glass door to a little lawn area for the pooch and the car was right there for us to unload all of our travel bags/crap/gear.
A few of the outlets weren't working (musta been a blown fuse), but really ...so what, there were plenty others.
There's not much out in Tehachapi, CA, and this La Quinta Inn was one of the better stays. I was surprised at the cleanliness of the rooms and the equipment in the fitness room, the condition of the pool/spa.
