7 reviews for La Quinta Inn & Suites
For a hotel of this price level, I was very pleasantly surprised. They charged us $89 for a room for 2 adults & one canine with no pet deposit. The room, while moderately sized was well appointed with plenty of towels, good linens & nice pillows. It ain't the Four Seasons, but it was well beyond $89 in value.
What's really unique & fun about this La Quinta us that it's built in a historic grain & bean warehouse/silo. They put us up in one of the warehouse rooms, and the walls were finished in raw concrete and metal. A lot of the original structures are still intact in the common areas, including a grain elevator and lots of industrial piping and whatnot.
La Quinta is located about 5 minutes from the Irvine Spectrum, so there is lots to do & see in the neighborhood. There's a Denny's in the parking lot and a Jack in the Crack across the street for easy access low brow dining. In the morning, free continental b'fast.
In Irvine, do yourself a favor and stay here.

I had to work 55 miles from my house so I got this local hotel for a night. It was the second cheapest around, I paid $104 after taxes through http://aaa.com The room was pretty nice and clean; spacious enough. The pool and hot tub were nice after a hard day's work. The continental breakfast had some good stuff; if you can wake up before 9.
The only complaint I have is that is next to the train tracks. Luckily, my room was one of the furthermost away, but it still was loud as hell about once every two hours. My friend stayed almost next to it and he said that it shook his room. So try to get rooms nearest the lobby. It will wake you up either way, but it won't turn your bed into one of those cheesy hotels with the coin operated vibrating bed if you stay on the other side of the hotel.
So my condo was being tented last week (major pain!) and the La Quinta Inn was the closest hotel to me that took dogs. Muy importante! The price was also great - $79 bucks a night!
I was impressed with my room. It was round! My room was in the converted silo, not the newer building. It was like a little studio apartment...mini fridge, microwave, couch, table, and two gigantic beds. The beds were amazing! Seriously comfortable, although a little too high for my pooch Bella to hop on or off safely.
A complimentary breakfast is provided daily, with the usual continental fare of bagels, fruit, cereal and milk. They also had waffle batter and waffle makers so you could make your own. It was cute.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone coming into Irvine!

I came here for a friend's birthday party for a few nights. We booked the room through the cities website and received a $50 voucher. The pool was awesome and the hotel was so convenient bc it was so close to the airport.
I was on my way back from a long road trip...I was not able to drive anymore since I was to tired so i decided to look for a nearby hotel in my GPS. La Quinta came up with an average rate of 75 dollars/night so i decided to try it. When I got there i noticed it was in a "safe" area or so I thought...there was a Dennys right next door and a jack in the box even a gas station...I decided ok ill try it. There was a man at the reception who greeted me and I asked him for a room... He immediately said "sure thing" He gave me a king size bed in a room on the second floor he said. He instructed me to "drive aorund the building, enter the lobby, go to the 2nd floor and find my room" Ok...I left the "reception" and did as he said except I could not find another lobby. I literally WALKED around the hotel like 10 minutes until I was tired and cold and decided to go back and ask him. This time he more thouroughly explained how to get to the other lobby...which was a separate building behind the "hotel" I was already spooked since there were some noisy teens running and making noises in the parking lot... I finally find the elevator and proceed on my way...The hall ways gave me goosebumps..It was scary..the room? was okay except also spooky.I could not sleep of how scared I was... A couple hours of sleep later I left..and I doubt i'll be coming back!
To me it was an overall ok but spooky experince!
This hotel is of note because it is a converted grain silo with thick concrete walls located a couple feet from the train tracks. Trains pass by at all hours, and, while the thick walls muffle the noise quite a bit, light sleepers can be awakened. But you definitely won't hear anything going on in neighboring rooms and the rooms themselves are unusual and interesting.
Suggest this hotel to people who might enjoy the railroad novelty theme.
