I made my reservation through Orbitz. To start with even though my reservation was for a non-smoking room they put me in a smoking room. It wasn't clear when I first got into the room, but after being there overnight it was clear it was a smoking room. My wife was feeling ill and all our clothing smelled.
First thing in the morning I went and told the front desk I had requested a non-smoking room. They looked and told me the room I was in was a smoking room, like that was news to me. They were quick to move me to a true non-smoking room.
Overall the rooms were not truly clean, but the non-smoking room was a lot cleaner than the smoking room, I guess they think smokers don't care how clean the room is. Also this is a 4 story facility and they only had 1 working ice machine which was on the first floor. Since my room was on the 4th floor it was a bit inconvenient.
The location for the motel is excellent. There are TONS of restaurants within about a 2 mile radius. There also is a Wal-Mart very close.
When I enquired the front desk told me that they didn't have to honor non-smoking requests from Orbitz. I did notice that the request came across as a "Special Request" and not as part of the rate. I'm interested in hearing what Orbitz has to say about that!
I won't be staying here again! BTW the only reason I gave them 2 start is because they were quick to move me to another room. If I was only staying 1 night they would have gotten only 1 star.
What a surprise! We booked this hotel online through the La Quinta website for $65/night. We arrived around 6pm and had a speedy check-in by a courteous clerk, then went to our room. It was clean and quiet (especially considering we were on the ground floor). We never heard any noise from above or around us, even though the parking lot made the hotel look around halfway full. A couple of minor gripes - the shower head is a little different. It's on of those handheld sprayers that has a hook on the wall. Not my favorite, but seems to be a standard in many budget hotels. The bed was also very hard, but we still slept well. We chose this hotel because we are moving from Virginia to California and needed a cat friendly hotel so our kitty could come. Would recommend this to a friend. Seems to be in a safe area far enough away from the interstate but close enough to restaurants, a grocery store, etc.
