5 reviews for La Pasta Italia
Wonderful little deli tucked away in a small center on Barton Rd. in GT.
I sometimes buy my pizza dough here. Their meats, cheeses, & prepared meals like ravioli & lasagna are better than most local Italian restaurants. You might want to try their daily lunch specials, as they change everyday & are tasty.
Grinders are very good. Pasta & marinara sauce are very good also.
Who ever would have thought you'd find a deli this wonderful in GT?
A surprise indeed! Delicious food and a nice Italian grocery selection. Would recommend giving it a try!
La Pasta Italia is an Italian grocery store/deli/pasta factory.
I came here for lunch today with a friend. This place advertised themselves as having the "best grinders" in town. I figured out that a grinder was a sandwich, but being the nerd that I am, I had to look it up (grinder: a large sandwich made of a long crusty roll split lengthwise and filled with meats and cheese (and tomato and onion and lettuce and condiments). Huh, how is that different from a submarine sandwich? Researching further, it seems as if all are synonymous with each other - hoagie, bomber, grinder, poor boy, submarine, torpedo, wedge, zep...well, i guess you learn something new everyday.
Anyways, I ordered the Al Italia Grinder (Hot ham, Genoa Salami, Pepperoni, Provolone cheese, pepperoncinis, lettuce, red onion, tomatoes, mayonnaise, & deli-style mustard ) minus the red onion. I must admit, it was pretty good. But, the one thing that was missing that would have made it a great sandwich was really good bread. Oh, and the sandwich was kind of small too.
Round one - Claro's in a KO.
Overall 3.5 stars. Good place in a city and county not really renown for its good eats.
This is a nice little surprise find in an otherwise non-descript shopping center. The delicious smell of fresh marinara sauce that hits you as soon as you walk in was enough to make the visit worthwhile. We went on Friday, which is ravioli day, where they have a huge selection of ravioli with different fillings and sauces to choose from. Not being able to decide what to get to eat my husband and I split a meatball sandwich and an order of sun-dried tomato ravioli. Both were delicious and large enough that we weren't able to finish either.
It's nice to find an Italian deli with homemade pasta and sauces in this area. I thought my days of bringing home fresh spaghetti and marinara for dinner were over when I moved away from Claro's. This is definitely a suitable alternative.
Yummy!
