This place deserves at least 3 stars even if some of its reviewers have experienced slow play or non-ideal course conditions. Overall, the course is pretty solid. I played the course with a few good friends for $33 (including carts... one of my friends got a deal somewhere). The course is not necessarily very hard, but there are a few holes where you might need your playing partners to help you spot the ball. If you're unsure of where your ball went, do hit a provisional.

As previous reviewer Greg noted, the tee boxes and greens are in decent condition, as are the fairways and rough. There are a few holes where the rough is just that... rough. And by that, I mean that the course staff could better tend to the rough on a few holes. Also, the pace of play can be slow, but believe me, I've played A LOT slower. For a public city course, La Mirada Golf Course is actually not that slow. That being said, however, give yourself a lot of time to finish 18 holes. I don't know about 6/7 hours, as I think that's exaggerating. Then again, the previous reviewer may genuinely have had a LONG day with slow groups ahead of him. Realistically, 4.5 to 5.5 hours is more like it.

Despite the negatives, La Mirada Golf Course is a fun course to play. I would recommend playing with people who have good knowledge about this course. I say this because they can tip you on where to aim on your drives if you want to cut corners and leave yourself a shorter shot (for longer hitters).

Would I come here again? Sure, why not. It's not a special course by any means, but it's a decent course. 3 stars.

This place has such potential. The course is layed out nice, a lot of rolling hills and nice wide fairways. They keep the greens up pretty well, I have seen better and worse. The course is not the problem. My issues are the silly T-time policies. I recently called and asked if could get a foursome on in a week from today, they told me that I need to call exactly 10 days in advance at the specific time I want to play. Ha, I about pi$$ed myself. 10 days is bad, but give me a break call at the specific time, $hit! I would play La Mirada again, nice course it is just a pain in the butt to get on.

La Mirada features rolling layouts with several blind target shots into well-bunkered greens. Like everyone else, plan for a whole day of golf. If you are one of those golfers that are in rush because you have something else planed later on. Then don't try it! It's still a fun place to golf.

Played 6:45 am on MLK day, 2nd group out. Walked on and no wait. Took about 4 hours to complete. Tee boxes and greens are decent, typical city course style. Fairways and rough are not great. Some areas of green grass, lots of yellow, some bare patches. Rough might be a little better lie then the fairways at times. Lots of groups of 5 out. We were 5 single players. Not great course condition, but acceptable for the $33 fee to walk. Lots of walkers at this course.

The driving range is very crowded every night. Its good place to practice but you need to get there early. One thing I really ask of that should ban smoking at the driving range. Man some people smoke about a carton of cigarettes all by themselves. As for golfing at La Mirada Course its good nothing to brag about but you got to have the Marshal push some slow pokes or you will spend the entire day there.

This place use to be fun to play but man it's gotten very crowded since everyone and anyone is playing golf now. I can't fault the course for beginners but, man this place has issues these days and needs to do something about it. It's a short and fairly easy course, but with all the new golfers it takes the whole day to finish. Pack a picnic you'll be there for 6 hours maybe 7.

And one of the starters there plays favor to golfers he knows, so even if you get there before other people he'll put people before you.

I Hate this place!
