History
Established in 1985
Retail and manufacturing business, La Lumia, opened in April 1985 at 253 Church Street. In 1986, the company launched the private labels La Lumia, JakSen, and Tigerlily. The company serviced a customer base largely made up of neighborhood artists and the large population of women working in TriBeCa's federal buildings. La Lumia then introduced their custom design business the following year--designing bridal gowns, special occasion fashions, and one-of-a-kind styles.
Post-9/11, La Lumia established itself as one of the best boutiques in New York Magazine six times and has recieved accolades from the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce.
In 2009, the store moved into a second floor studio space at 27 Park Place where it continues to sell the eclectic collection of brands and its own labels for both retail and wholesale.
