About the Business
Welcome to the world of Peruvian cuisine, a whole new adventure. The initial melting of the culinary tradition of ancient Perú with Spanish cuisine, evolved through immigration and influences of French, Italian, Asian and African people, who modified their traditional cuisines with ingredients available in peruvian geography only. The result: Peruvian Gastronomy, the most diverse in the world.

My family and I went to eat here after a long tournament and received amazing service from Yessy. She was very friendly and provided us with a lot of info that was great to have about the restaurant! She definitely fulfilled my experience at La Hueca!!

I rarely give a 5 star review, but everything added together, this was a 5 star experience.
I asked for a quiet table because neither of us hears that well. The server found us a quiet, private spot.
When we asked for more information on the Peruvian cuisine, our server was delighted to advise us. She asked what we were fond of, starting with the protein, then the style we preferred. When we indicated that we were open to trying something authentic, she took us to the buffet and recommended the bean soup followed by rice with one of the 6 stews. There was also a typical salad bar available as part of the buffet lunch. They had fresh pineapple! I admit I was a little piggie with the pineapple!
We opted for the buffet--$15.95 on a Wednesday. I first tried the bean soup with a beef stew. Superb. Followed up with rice and fish stew. Now I must tell you that I do NOT like fishy food. But this was the most mild, but tasty, fish dish that I have ever tried. The sauce was full of vegetables- potato, peppers, onions, mushrooms, in addition to perfectly prepared fish. Worth the price of the buffet alone!
My lunch buddy started with the soup and went on to try every stew with his rice--twice. We were truly delighted to try something new and find it so wonderful.
Our server had a Russian name, maybe Olyenka. She was cute, attentive, and eager to introduce us to their delicious offerings.
I will return.
PS the blue corn drink is good, too.
PPS the restrooms were very clean.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 1Mar 17, 2017Previous reviewI stopped in to have a late lunch. I did have to stand and wait in the reception area long enough to decide to go to the bathroom first!
The empanadas were nice, especially the sauces for each type. - Anne Q.Rocklin, CA01731Mar 18, 20241 check-in
We've been to La Huaca a few times already. The food and service never disappoints. We ordered ceviche too. No picture because we ate it right away. Next time we have to try their buffet.
Thank you for the excellent service and for the suprise dessert!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Mar 10, 2024Updated review2 check-ins
I am updating for the Buffet experience. On my last review I noted that wish they had a sampler so that I could try a variety without commitment. I noticed a guy out front holding up sign saying Buffet. Perfect! Buffet is served 11-3 and nowhere, even their website says how much that is. It is $35.95 folks... on Sunday. A little more than I expected for lunch.
Boy, did that gimmick work for them. They were packed! The last time we came, they only had a few customers besides us.
We walked in at 1:30 and waited forever to be acknowledged even though 3 different employees walked past us without a word. It was one of those, should we leave moments? but we were hangry and stuck it out.
The selection was ok. The salad part only had one kind of dressing. There was a chicken I wanted to try but it remained out the whole time as well as the ceviche type thing. White rice was empty. Another item was empty the second time. The mashed potato thing was excellent and this beef with onions and peppers. Good flavors. I didn't feel like so much should be out one hour before closing.
Next time, I probably would not do the buffet again. It was not worth the price if only 2/3 of it was available.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 2Feb 27, 2023Previous reviewDriven past several times thinking we ought to try that. We finally did and came here for lunch this past Sunday. They took over what used to be Sizzler in the TJ Maxx shopping center. It has been remodeled inside. Very clean. We were greeted and seated right away.
Really didn't know what to expect since Peruvian food was new to us and I don't know anyone else who has tried it. With that said, I wish they had an appetizer sampler or a peruvian version of the Indian Thali where you can try a taste of different items without the commitment. Luckily most menu items had a detailed description.
Small selection. One page two-sided menu. Somewhat pricey. Entrees start at $20+ so you're looking at average $35 pp if you get a drink or appetizer. I ordered the Crema de Pesto con Bistec or steak with pesto fettuccine and my friend ordred the arroz con pollo. Everything as tasty and fresh. I was pleased with the size of my steak and was cooked the way I asked. The chicken had a sauce. The rice with it was a little dry but maybe it is suppose to be? You get a complimentary piece of homemade bread with a side of chimichurri.
Now people ask me what does Peruvian food taste like? I really couldn't tell you. There were flavors I could not pin-point and some that were familiar. Almost a fusion of sorts. Idk. You will have to come try it. It was solidly good but nothing that made eager to return because of the cost but I would like to try something different on the menu. - Nico A.Placerville, CA6265Apr 23, 2024
Great atmosphere decor and staff. Only have tried buffet so far. Food was very fresh well made and felt very organic and healthy. However the flavors were all
Middle of the road and lacked salt, citrus, spice or distinct seasoning. I would recommend it for its quality of food and experience but there is nothing I am dying to go back for or would highly suggest.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Vickie M.Citrus Heights, CA403416Apr 10, 2024
Went for Sunday buffet for 2 food was just ok nothing special.. lots of rice and potatoes I wasn't a fan of the flavors just a lot of cumin and cilantro in almost every dish the bathrooms were nasty and the same as when it was a Sizzler... service was with a big smile though! Won't get going back..

I visit this area to see family every now and then, and we recently checked out this new location (we have been before when La Huaca was at another building). Man, I don't know why I haven't gone back in so long because the food is amazing! I had the ceviche with olive dressing, and it was delicious. They have sizeable portions, great ambiance, and really kind waiters. They even do weekend events like salsa night! If I lived here, this would definitely be on a short list of date night restauraunt/venues I would attend in Roseville.

We tried the Saturday lunch buffet and had a great experience. The buffet choices included a salad bar, hot food, and some desserts. The hot foods had beef, chicken, fish and pork. Our favorite was the beef, rotisserie style chicken, and chicken in a peanut sauce. There was also their famous ceviche.
The service was great. They cleared out the finished plates quickly instead of piling up.
We've had their al la carte menu before and loved it. So we were a little sad there wasn't any paella. But we heard the Sunday buffet is better so we'll have to come back and try it.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
