7 reviews for La Habra Children's Museum
Good for about an hour or two of the kiddies' time. My two year old had a good time here, he especially liked the OCTA bus where he pretended to be a bus driver. He also enjoyed pretending grocery shopping. Finally, he is a big fan of trains and they have a train room where model trains run with a tiny village and also a Thomas the Train model. More on the trains later though.
What he didn't like: the taxidermy room with the stuffed animals. I am not 100% sure that it belongs in a children's museum. Creepy. Also, the preschool room is kind of run down and dirty. They need to clean the place up a bit. We didn't get to try out the dress up room either but it looks fun.
Now more on the train room: what I found extremely lame was the fact that the museum limits the model trains to run for only ONE minute and make you wait TEN minutes until it runs again. How stupid is that? This is a children's museum after all. So what you get are kids waiting around for 10 minutes until the trains run again. That's why this review is three stars. However, I found a way today (hidden switch) to override the ten minute limit so while I was there I ran the trains continuously to the delight of the kids there. And my son too.
For $7 this is maybe a bit too much (used to be $5 last year). There is a park next to the museum so bring your picnic lunch as well.

We brought a 2, 4 & 6 y/o here and we all agreed that this place was cheezy, not too mention dirty. Admission was ridiculous and we only lasted 30 - 40 minutes here if that! This place needs some serious updating, as well as new equipment. I don't understand what any of these rave reviews are for....
We've taken the lil guy to many children's museums through the years and I must say, this one is pretty nice. It's not too big like the Children's Discovery Museum in San Jose, CA so there isn't a huge influx of kids on the weekends making it almost impossible to keep track of where your little one has run off to.
There are many things which will allow your child to use his or her imagination to create a dress up play, or, they can 'drive' a bus. There is a 'bubbles' room where you can join your kids in blowing or creating bubbles of all sizes.
A short tour of the caboose is on the hour every hour so if you're interested in that, wait for it. It's pretty cool.
Entrance fee is $5 for residents of La Habra. Others pay $6. Children 2 and under are free. A seriously pleasant way to spend a few hours with the kids.

The only place I've found that simultaneously entertains my kindergartener, toddler and 7-month-old.
"Museum" is a misnomer. This place is an indoor adventure park, and about as eclectic as I've ever seen. Play dress-up, go shopping in a faux supermarket, sit in the driver's seat of a real bus with working turn signals, plink a piano, try arts and crafts -- La Habra has shoehorned a lot of fun into a small building and a small budget.
Buy the annual pass. It's cheap. A bit out of the way, but now that diamond lanes let families hurtle around Orange County, that's not prohibitive.

My family was an annual pass holder for 2 years. My daughter has outgrown this place now. It was great when she was between the ages of 1-3.5. They have a carousel inside of the museum. They also have a dress-up/theater room, a train room, a reading room, a science room, an arts and crafts room, an exhibit room (which changes about 4 times a year), a toddler room and my least favorite; the taxidermy room. I know that the stuffed animals are supposed to be educational, but I just found it downright creepy. Anyway, it's easy to spend a few hours here on a weekend.

We took our 10 month old here. It's a fun place for kiddies, particularly those that are toddlers and up. Everything is pretty interactive, but for a baby it's not ideal for crawling around (tile floor). Nevertheless, we stayed for an hour on a rainy day and had a good time. For a baby, I'd recommend bringing a sling or some sort of carrier. Not enough space to really roll around a stroller.
so you have kids..and don't know what to do for an afternoon? it's $5 a person, kids under 2 are free. it's an interesting place with a lot of interactive material for your child's mental stimulation. it might not be for the germ-a-phobes... there a lot of kids, but for those who want to spend an afternoon with nieces, nephews, cousins, or your own kids by spending the day exploring things while learning.. this is the place. it's small, but still... the kids seem to like it.
