I'm usually a Carpaccio loaylist when eating at Bal Harbour Shops but we decided to give La Goulue a whirl on a recent visit. The food? Delish. We ordered the steak frites (the fries are amazing and served in a tin pail), mussels in cream sauce and the onion pastry. The only letdown? The penne pasta was a miss and while the oysters were fresh, they were teensy tiny. In terms of service, it's way slower than Carpaccio, but the staff is sweet.
Now, let's talk about the prices here...this place is muy expensivo compared to its neighboring restos. There really is no need...I realize rent must be pretty high here, but it's way pricier than Carpaccio...thus another reason to eat at Carpaccio.

Word on the street is that La Goulue has taken many of Bal Harbour neighbor Carpaccio's customers. When you compare the two, it's easy to see why. Management has done a great job of making sure La Goulue Bal Harbour's staff is attentive and patient; food is served warm and there is a high level of consistency.
I dined with a client, so I tried to keep my order low (I had the hamburger; how embarrassing). The hamburger was damn good, though. I would recommend this place for the food, staff, and excellent shopping nearby; I plan to go back soon.
La Goulue is a New York style Parisian restaurant. I dined with four other people on the patio. I thought the food was gourmet. The service was good by Miami's standards. We all enjoyed our meals. I ordered the steak frittes with a Bearnaise sauce, which was very rich. I loved every bite of it., and don't forget to order the leak soup.
