1 review for La Fontana Italian Restaurant & Bar
Hooray for the economy. You can get lunch entrees at La Fontana for less than $6 now. Went here yesterday with a friend and it cost about $5.75 or $5.95 (hehehe sorry, memory is gettin short). I've come here a few times before and ordered their delicious Vodka sauce pasta. But my recent visit wasn't as satisfying. ::shrug::
At the beginning of our visit, we got free bread, which was a very nice way to hold us over until the appetizer and entrees arrived. The herbs and seasonings on the bread went nicely with the dipping olive oil with more herbs and seasonings. 4 stars for the FREE bread.
For an appetizer, we started out with the Italian Rice Balls (about $6 or $7) which basically reminded me of a not-so-healthy/non-fish version of sushi -- rice stuffed with chopped meat, cheese and spices then breaded and fried. I really liked it, but I feel there was something missing... 3.5 stars.
For my main dish, I ordered Linguini Abbruzzi (linguine noodles, roasted peppers, Italian sausage, and spicy pomodoro sauce). It was pretty good but hella spicy (and I do mean HELLa, for Italian food!). It could use a little extra dimension, however. How about adding an extra sprinkle of parsley in there? 3 stars.
By this time, my stomach was packed and there was no room for dessert. Hearty portions at affordable prices - 4 stars!
Service was decent. The waitress was very friendly, but she forgot to come back around with the parmesan until 20 minutes later. Lol. I guess that's what happens when you are the only wait service on the floor. Still, the food came out very quickly and we were in and out in an hour. Service 3.7 stars.
Summary - 3.64 rounded up.
I'm hungry now. Lol.
