3 reviews for La Fiesta Mexican Restaurant
It sits in the bottom of an area hotel, but there's nothing corporate about this place. Super Mexi- Tacky décor, think touristy Cancun. The service is good; very attentive. The place is always clean and draws a large lunch crowd.
The food is a good value, with plenty to eat on your plate. They offer many different combination entrees, Àla Carte and three or four vegetarian dishes. The salsa is always fresh, with just the right amount of heat.
It is what is to be expected in a Mexican restaurant- beans, rice and something wrapped in a shell and topped with cheese. I dine here often and have never been disappointed.
Definitely a keeper!
The best part about this place is the price. They've got excellent prices on their lunch menu, and have pretty much anything Mexican that you'd ever want. And their salsa is also quite good... but I find it a bit ridiculous that you have to pay extra if you want to eat more chips beyond the initial basket!
Well, I decided to get their spinach and artichoke empanada... or was it a chalupa, or chimichanga? I don't remember. In any case, I felt like I was basically eating spinach and artichoke dip that was wrapped up inside a tortilla, so it was way too cheesy and mushy. Their rice is good, although their beans were a bit questionable - when I told them I didn't want refried beans, they gave me this bean-soup thing (they don't carry black beans) which tasted odd.
Stiil, at least the service was very good, with a friendly waitstaff. One extra thing though - when you're paying for your food at the front, check out the large painting on the wall to your right. It looks like the man there is calling 911 on a cell phone... it's pretty funny; you'll just have to see it to know what I'm talking about!
I agree with everything Dirk P. said about La Fiesta. It's a staple in the neighborhood for your margarita and combination #4 needs. Great, friendly, consistent staff and good food!
