yummy, yummy, and yummy. I had a wild salmon lox with creme fraiche, spinach, and lemon crepe. It was so good!!! The only thing that would be better if this was a restaurant and you could sit and eat your food right there (perferably with a nice glass of wine or a mimosa!).
My only other wish is that I would have been in town long enough to sample a sweet crepe.
Best crepes in Seattle! I actually pay for parking in downtown just to have a crepe when I get the craving. And if I am ever in downtown for any other reason, I always have to stop by & try one of my favorites.
Love the savory crepes!
Sometimes the line is long, but the staff are all friendly, & the food is incredible!
My second crepe place to try here in Seattle. Cute tiny hole in the wall place.
I tried smoked wild salmon lox and the normandy (cooked apples, caramel, toasted almonds with nutella ice cream). Both were delicious!
What I love is that my dinner that night came out surprisingly on the cheaper end than I was thinking. Great place to satisfy crepe cravings.
Just wanted to say I stopped by here again and the girl who made my crepe was super friendly this time and the crepe, again, was yummy!!

I was doing a little shopping today and couldn't resist a stop here. It seems every time I go for… Read more »
The lox and spinach and sweet lemon were both great. Some other folks griped about the service, but I thought the two women working when I was there were great - very helpful with explaining and with fixing a botched receipt (my fault).
This place is a nice treat for lunch and a nice warm snack on those stormy days! Also I am not partial just because I work in the building. Their spinach and ham crepes are so yummy. After eating one I always want to go back and get another!
I went one afternoon and tried their nutella one. I never would have thought I would like nutellea (I always thought it looked kinda gross) but on their crepe is was so delectable! I am serious if you are ever walking up Pike please stop and get one to nourish you on your way up to Capitol Hill
A cute little stand near the Convention Center on the sidewalk in downtown. I've driven past many times during lunch, but there's no parking or stopping on the street. It's basically a walk-to destination and it can draw a crowd. We ordered:
*savory crepe: smoked salmon with spinach, herb butter, and creme fraiche
*sweet crepe: nutella with strawberries
The crepe girl behind the counter was chatting with someone (who wasn't ordering) while we were trying to order and completely ignored us. When she finally acknowledged us, she took our order and acted like we were bothering her. She never even made eye contact. While she was [very slowly] preparing the crepe grill and the ingredients, she continued to chat with this person. I hate to whine, but.. c'mon!
We were the only ones in line, but it took a LONG time to get our crepes. We took them to go, but there were a few tables for those who like to eat next to a busy street. The crepes themselves were burnt (most likely a product of her not paying attention while making them) and mostly inedible. We ended up just eating the inside/filling. The salmon was good, but I wasn't too into the creme fraiche. The nutella and strawberries were yummy, but you can't really go wrong with that combination!
Props for offering some interesting sweet "gourmet" crepes:
*bananas foster: bananas and pineapple rum
*normandy: apples and caramel
*cherries jubilee: brandied cherries
These all come with whipped cream and almonds (not my thing, but hey -- I'm sure some people dig it) and you can add a scoop of vanilla ice cream for $1.50.
Overall, it was a fun and unique experience, but I was UNIMPRESSED by the food quality (*especially* for a 4.5 rated yelp restaurant). I might give it another try someday, but for now, I'll look elsewhere for tastier crepes and better service.
Stopped by with some coworkers for a quick bite on our way over to the Ignite Seattle talks last night, having craved crepes for several weeks already. They have a number of savory crepes in addition to the usual sweet ones, with the crepe itself being similar to Berkeley's Crepes A Go Go in that they were of the thicker pancake-like variety. Debating for a long time between a savory or a sweet crepe, I ended up getting the roasted chicken crepe, opting not to just have dessert for dinner.
While the overall crepe was okay, I can't say I liked the swiss cheese much, as it left an odd aftertaste with each bite. It may have been that the swiss simply overwhelmed the other flavors, since there was so much of it. They were a bit skimpy on the chicken as well, which also surprised me because they were actually strips of chicken rather than deli meat style, or thinly sliced/shredded as I had been expecting.
Prices are okay for the portion you get, though most of this is crepe and less so actual substance. I'll probably drop by one more time to give their sweet crepes a try, but unlikely again for their savory ones.
What a nice little surprise! My fiancé and I (with our Seattle-based friend) happened to be in the area when we realized that we wanted a pre-plane ride non-airport food meal before leaving town. As we tried figuring out what we craved, we spotted La Crêperie Voilà across the street.
We quickly used our phones to check Yelp, and based on the positive reviews, we decided it was a go.
I ordered the savory option of roasted chicken, spinach, Swiss, herb butter, with white sauce. My fiancé ordered a Nutella and strawberry sweet option. Our friend ordered a smoked salmon crêpe.
I was definitely surprised by the high quality of the ingredients, especially since this is a little stand within the side of the convention center. Usually I'm disappointed by savory crêpes because they tend to lack enough flavor. This time, however, my crêpe had just enough. And I'm lucky that my fiancé doesn't mind trading bites, so I had some of his for dessert.
This was a nice find before having to leave Seattle. Would I go out of my way for a crêpe here again? Probably not, but during this trip, it was definitely in the right place at the right time for us.
What a surprise, to find this quaint little spot just hanging out next to a Subway stand! I was winding down my time with Wendy K and her fiancé and we decided we needed a post-shopping snack, and La Creperie Voila did the trick!
I had been craving smoked salmon for most of the day, so I went with the smoked salmon crepe. They use top quality ingredients in their crepes, so you're pretty much guaranteed a good flavor.
That said, I didn't feel like the flavors blended very well. The ingredients are arranged, almost like a painting, on top of your crepe as it sits on the grill. Of note were the two dollops of creme fraiche that were placed at the top and bottom of the masterpiece, which basically translated into two bites of creme fraiche in the finished product. (Note: I originally thought this was the herbed butter, but have since been corrected by the owner.)
I imagine the sweet crepes have better flavor blending, but for my savory crepe, it's 3 stars. That said, I will definitely go back next time I'm in the area.
I had the ratatouille and my friend had the banana chocolate crepes. I had a bite of hers. Both our crepes were sooo good. It was great that the location was right next to the convention center. I stopped by here twice in my three days stay for my conference because of its convenience and the great food.
I love this place. The crepes are fantastic, made fresh and with a ton of nice ingredients. I love eating here when it is warm and I can sit outside or head to Freeway Park to enjoy my Crepe. Almost makes me feel as if I were in France.
The fact that it is just a stand outside makes it even more enjoyable. What I can't figure out is with this place next door, why would anyone ever go to Subway.
Pretty close to perfect. As good as any crepes (pronounced CREHPS, BTW!!! NOT crayps!!!) I've had in Montréal or Europe.
Such a Seattle treat! The egg, spinach and cheese is so much more than its ingredients suggest :-)
Any negative reviews here attest to an experience that's the exception to the rule. In over a dozen visits, I've gotten one disappointingly-made crepe. Great pastry and ice cream, too!
Go here!
So I tried the typical strawberries with vanilla custard, number 10 on their menu...borrrrrrrrrrrring and tasteless. The ingredients didn't complement each other and the custard was not sweet, or even that flavorful. Just go up the street to Cap Hill to find the best Crepes Place in Seattle (hint: it's on Yelp, and begins with an 'S') I'll be a bit more exotic next time I order at this place, then I'll let you know if it was any better.
Also, they say it's easy to pack up and take your crepe to-go, but do that and the sauce will probably end up all over your shirt if you're in a hurry. Just sit down and eat.
yum yum yum!!! My bf and I went to Seattle for a little get away and looked up restaurants on yelp before leaving. This was one that stood out.....and after eating there, the reviews were right on!!
Based on the location, we were surprised to find such yummy crepes there...and in right inside the convention center, there's a Caffe Dior that had great cappuccino...again, unexpected.
Out of all the places we ate, including nice sit down restaurants, this was probably one of our favorite places to eat in Seattle. We liked it so much we went back during our 4 day trip to Seattle!
I had the smoked salmon lox crepe and my bf had the dulce de leche with whip cream and both loved them! The second time when we went back, I had the prosciutto ham and the bf had the maple sweet crepe. And we both loved our choices again!! I liked the salmon one better, and the bf liked both that he can't pick.
Now being back in San Diego, I've been on a hunt to find a good crepe place here, but nothing has come close to Seattle....yet....
When I first saw it, I thought it was very cool to have a style of a stand selling crepe. It reminded me very much of the old ways people use to sell things on the streets, especially in Asia. The place is literally a hole in the wall, haha.
Since I'm not a big fan of savory crepes, I went straight for the sweet crepe. My choice was a Nutella Chocolate Crepe with banana and coffee ice cream. It was definitely a delightful dessert.
If you're ever in town for a conference or in the downtown area, this is definitely a place to check out.
stopped at La Creperie Voila when I was at the convention center for lunch. I was greeted by the friendly staff that made small talk. I ordered the Sliced chicken ,fresh spinach,Swiss cheese, herb butter and bechamel sauce crep. It could of added more sauce to the crep it was kinda bland but the taste it did have was good.
I later went back after the convention for dessert that was good. I had the Banana fosters with a dallop of vanilla ice cream (your choice of flavor of icecream).(which is my new dessert to pick since the Yelp event at El Gaucho)
It's a ok try for lunch but the dessert crep was were it was at.I would try another lunch one but I would try something else then the chicken.
Great food and quick service plus a great downtown location.
If you are going to have fast food this is it. Forget all the rubbish burgers and drumsticks get yourself a crepe. The savoury crepes are filling, tasty and good value for money and the sweet ones are well just magical.
Try the cheese and ham crepe and if sweet is your choice then try the strawberry or the dulce de leche. You will not regret it.
Alas the most difficult choice at this eatery is sweet or savoury!
You know that swollen, slightly torturous feeling you get when you've been wearing ridiculously high heels all day? You know that clammy feeling you get after speaking in front of 100+ people for the first time after three years? Well, I have the prescription for a cure: La Creperie Voila!
A handy, sidewalk cafe dishing out warm and flavorful treats. I typically get savory crepes, but I couldn't resist the bananas foster so that's what I went with and even now, writing about it, I feel my mouth water.
Not many places can produce that reaction so four stars for that. Minus one star for lack of free parking and terrible coffee.
As good as it gets is right, since I don't think I've had better crepes in the US than La Creperie Voila's. This is one of those places that I always try to hit when I'm in the area. The crepes are awesome and the lady who makes them is very friendly and obviously an expert at making delicious crepes. I always order sweet crepes from her (since I do not like savory crepes) and am never disappointed. She also lets you do your own combination of toppings and substitutions to the already-very-well-chosen menu. There is a little wait there usually but it's worth it.
There's nothing more miserable than having to attend a convention and being in classes all day long, without a break in which to go get a decent lunch. You just keep getting hungrier and hungrier, but you refuse to go get a Subway sandwich like everyone else, because hell, you're in Seattle and why would you come all the way up here, just to waste a meal at Subway? Needless to say, I wanted to get out of the conference all together before getting a meal.
Imagine my great glee when the first place I literally walk into (after the ubiquitous Subway) was La Creperie Voila, which is located just outside the Convention Center. The smell of fresh batter and Nutella made me stop in my tracks and quickly get into line for a crepe of my own. Though I'm not particularly fond of savory crepes, I couldn't resist the combination of proscuitto, Emmenthal cheese, fresh spinach, herb butter, and bechamel sauce. Yum! Yum! The proscuitto and cheese were just warmed through, while the spinach didn't wilt much. The herb butter was probably what brought everything together because it allowed the crepe to stay moist while adding a lovely herb-y flavor. Butter always makes things better!
They wrap it into a little paper triangle so that you can walk and eat, though that can be a bit dangerous when you're trying to navigate downtown traffic. For $6.25, it was a hearty meal that filled me up and made me glad I suffered through the afternoon with no lunch. I'd be back to try their dessert crepes, which looked delish as well!
Sweet! No pun intended. I have yet to try their salty crepes, as I have more of a sweet tooth when I think of these delicious wonders. Regardless, in the short time I was in Seattle, I managed to visit this place twice! Imagine that. And I also sneakily stole bites from those eating here with me.
I tried the lemon and sugar crepe: very good, needed a bit more sugar. Their fresh strawberries crepe: excellent and by far my favorite. The apple caramel crepe (I believed called the normandy): also yummy, like apple pie. And the classic nutella crepe (although my brother ordered it with strawberries instead of bananas... *gasp* that's just sinful): which was also deeeelicious!
I suggest you make a quick stop here (though if there is a line, it probably won't be that quick). Oh, and the ladies? Very sweet.
A real disappointment, I'm afraid. While the cook was very pleasant, the savory crepe I ordered was bland, with the crepe overcooked and the inside merely warm. I think the real problem is that the crepe machine is set at too high a heat setting, such that the crepe dough cooks too quickly and the insides don't get an adequate time to heat up. I don't think I'll be going back, even to give it a second chance.
We were here for PAX and I despise Subway. I had been on my feet all day waiting in lines to play games and waltzing around the exhibition hall trying to find cool swag. Last thing I wanted to do was traipse all around downtown trying to find something that didn't sound revolting.
Cheesecake Factory? No thanks. I don't usually relish the whole chain restaurant bit and the Cheesecake Factory is one of those that I have to be in the mood for. Plus, I knew I was going to walk away with leftovers and didn't want to add that to the pile of stuff I was already carrying.
I am a smarty though, and had yelped it up before I left, so I knew La Creperie Voila was supposed to be pretty awesome. So I hopped in line along with about 34 greasy gamers and a group of French people behind me. You know when the Mexicans eat at a Mexican restaurant or Asians at an Asian restuarant that it has to be good, so I took the French people in line as a good sign.
The Husband got the chocolate raspberry ganache and I got bananas foster flambe with chocolate ice cream. Both were good, but I wouldn't order the bananas foster again, I think. It didn't rock my world (the husband's crepe did though!) and there were too many other sweet concoctions to try. Minus one star for preparing my hot crepe and putting ice cream with it to melt before the rest of our order was ready. They were super busy and I am sure the chick just didn't think about it, but it wasn't cool.
Mmm! MMm! Mmm! Mmm! MMmm! Mmm! Mmm!
Love the sweet crepes!
Love the savory crepes!
Love the location!
Love the music that is always perfectly up to date and just obscure enough that I feel cool knowing who the artist is. Smack dab in the center of downtown. See a movie, buy a crepe. Go to a concert, buy a crepe. See your oral surgeon, buy a crepe.
I recommend the scrambled egg crepe-egg, Swiss cheese, fresh spinach, and herb dressing. And for dessert the chocolate raspberry- a scoop of chocolate ganache with raspberry sauce, chocolate sauce, and whip cream! like I said...
Mmm! MMm! Mmm! Mmm! MMmm! Mmm! Mmm!
This is a cute little Creperie across the street from GameWorks, The Cheesecake Factory, and Regal Cinemas.
I stopped by here while waiting for a movie, and was greeted by two very friendly workers. It's true that the menu here isn't very large, but they do have all the "essentials".
I ordered the Cherries Jubilee with a scoop of ice cream. It didn't taste like anything special though. My friend on the other hand tried the Dulce de Leche and loved it. I'll give it another shot, but I wasn't thoroughly impressed.
They have 3 tables set-up with 4 chairs a piece. Luckily the place is sheltered by a huge cover, so you won't ever get rained on. Come give this place a try on a nice cold night. :)
I had the Proscuitto ham, Emmental swiss cheese, fresh spinach, herb butter and bechamel sauce (5.25)
There was no one in line when I walked up (11:30am), and the girl making the crepes was genuinely friendly, striking up a conversation with me.
The crepe was good, but not the best I've ever had. It also wasn't very warm.
Mouthwatering strawberries bright red and lightly stewed with sugar in a skinny, large, pancake.... topped with whipped cream.... a craving where I know the first scrumptious bite would place me in a gastronomical vortex of flavors.... that's wanted I needed today.
And so, I get out of work and head up to the cleanest, Yelp approved crepe establishment in town. Guess what?
"No Strawberries"... I repeat "No Strawberries"!
Apparently, it's out of season. And they're not into the frozen stuff. Sounds reasonable. I'll choose something else.
I never had filled crepes with anything other than... you guessed it..... glorious repetitive bright red strawberries.
First I ordered Nutella and bananas. Scratch. I'm not into trying Nutella for the first time on a huge pancake. Maybe a water cracker, but not my skinny loving crepe. So... I decided on the raspberry sauce with chocolate ganache, fresh chopped hazelnuts and whipped cream.
I watched and the pancake batter is spread around in hot plate. Like an artist the Crepe Chef squirts raspberry sauce in a Figure 8 design. Then, adds a small scoop of ganache. Let's it warm up a bit. And levels it into an even distribution, (about 3-4 minutes).
It's really relaxing to watch, as the thin pancake is folded twice. Placed on a plate. Then, topped with the hazelnuts, whip cream and another scoop of the ganache for the side.
Believe it or not... I still wanted my strawberry crepe.
Delicate. Bittersweet. Hints of raspberry. Perfect whip cream with no added sugar. And fresh chopped hazelnuts. Simply palatable. Excellent dessert. I need some wine. I may need some Paris.
After I see the Disney's Ratatouille... I may go back to try their special vegetable crepe nicknamed Ratatouille. But I'll be back for my Strawberry & Creme Crepe. Maybe get adventurous enough and try the Nutella & Banana Crepe. Options are there for a meal, dessert or both.
toujours avec de grandes nourritures...
Mwahhh.... Mwahh!!!
Last night, we found ourselves stranded in the desolation of the Convention Center and in need of a quick bite. Subway or Crepes - the choice was easy. We ordered the proscuitto and lox crepes. They were prepared as we watched. With some finesse and attitude, I might add. The clanking and sliding of spatula on cooking surface so turns me on!
Okay, back to the food. Turns out it was pretty tasty, altough I swear that the proscuitto looked/tasted more like black forest ham. And I groaned to myself when the crepes took on more of a tan than I'm used to seeing. "On too high", I told myself. As it turned out, the crepes were fine and not at all crusty or crunchy as I was expecting. Must be the secret formula.
Bonus points - the lady was kind to the candy-hawking kids who needed water.
4 Stars - I'll eat there again.
This joint became a regular stop for us when walking downtown from Capitol Hill, even when we weren't very hungry. It became a sort of sickness, coming up with excuses to walk nearby, to leave to see a movie at Loews far too early, to accidentally sort of not realize which direction we were walking... Look! The crepe stand! Well if that's not serendipity, I don't know what is...
It's no exaggeration to say that there are days - most days - when a crepe is the perfect food. Warm, hand-held, made quickly, savory or sweet, light or heavy. If there is a large convention at the center, entertain yourself by watching the stunned masses stand in line at the Subway Sandwich shop next door, while you enjoy a genuinely charming meal at the same price.
Favorite crepe: salmon, and politely request them to replace the creme fresh with goat cheese.
Only downer: I've twice gotten ice cream from them, and both times found the ice cream to be merely benign. The chai ice cream tasted so faintly as to almost taste like straight vanilla -- okay, but not what I wanted. I can't even remember what the other flavor I got was, it was so forgettable.
So, in summary: eat crepes. Go with at least another person so one of you can get a savory and the other a sweet, and then switch back and forth between bites.
Voila is a frabjous exception to the generally dismal Seattle crepe offerings. When we stopped at the sidewalk window after a movie, the woman who made our banana-Nutella crepe approached artistry. Her hands never stopped moving as she assembled our crepe with near-surgical precision.
The end result was outstanding--a firm, neat, paper-wrapped thing with enough body to make for decent walking food and good balance between filling and pancake.
The service wasn't as fast it probably should've been, considering the stand serves a bus-stop crowd. And the coffee was regrettable. Still, I'd risk missing a bus to stand in line here again.
Tres bien!
I've been craving crepes since we got back from Paris and I finally indulged again! The boy found this gem a few weeks ago and told me to make the hike up to tourist central to enjoy them. I avoided it for weeks but was glad that I finally did make it up there.
They had a nice variety of lunch crepes and dessert crepes. All freshly prepared by their friendly staff. And a few tables nearby to enjoy an alfresco dining experience.
So good it makes you wonder why people go to the Subway next store.
If you ever think about going to the Cheesecake Factory, go here instead.
The people are nice. I wanted a lox and spinach crepe, hold the creme fraiche. They went out of their way to offer other things to substitute for it. I took them up on the roasted red bell peppers. I'm still eating it now, it's really good.
I saw the prominently displayed Yelp sticker and mentioned I found the place on Yelp. I said that I'd give them a review later, and my crepier laughed and said I was making her nervous. Nothing to worry about!
Fast, good, well-priced, and a couple blocks from work. I'll be back. I got my crepe to go and didn't go inside, so I can't comment on the seating area.
You can't really go wrong with a delicious crepe. LCV serves both sweet and savory crepes. I can't walk by without stopping in for my favorite: Bananas, Strawberries, Nutella (lots of it) and whipped cream. I don't mind getting chocolate all over my face due to the heavenly amounts of Nutella they put in my crepes.
The employees are really nice considering they work, half inside, half outside. I'm sure it gets cold in that little nook.
OMG, I'm craving a crepe right now. I think I'll take a walk down there today. haha!
Yum, Yum, Yum. It was as good as I wanted it to be - maybe even better. Quality ingredients used in the perfect amount (I saw how good the prosciutto looked and was thinking to myself that I wished she'd used more, but then bit into the crepe and realized that any more would have been too much!). Will definitely go back for a sweet crepe as a treat.
Now if only I could find a crusty baguette sandwich street vendor, I'd have all my Parisian favorites accounted for.
If you're ever at the Seattle Convention Center for work, shopping in downtown, or just love crepes, come to La Creperie Voila! Our hotel was just a block up and every time we walked by there was always a line.
We finally made it for some savory breakfast crepes (with a complementary sweet one as well - but of course!). Try the Smoked Salmon Lox with Creme Fraiche, Spinach, and Clive Shallot Butter as well as the Scrambled Egg with Emmental Swiss, Mushroom Sauce, and Herb Butter. The flavors are so amazing!
This is what every crepe place should strive to be! It's about as authentic as you can get with crepes! And my crepe experience is never complete without my staple - Nutella with Bananas and whipped cream!
La Creperie Voila is my favorite take-out spot in downtown Seattle. Just walk up to their roll-up storefront and come away delighted. I regularly get stuck spending long hours at the Convention Center for work and always look forward to indulging in a little sweet & savory outside. They have a reasonably varied menu and will make crepes to order while you watch. The staff seems pretty consistent in their technique/cooking and are chatty while you wait.
I usually get a lox & spinach crepe with an egg scrambled in. Once I got something with feta and ended up with more feta than I'd ever know where to put, but otherwise have no complaints. The dessert crepes are simple and wonderfully sweet.
Did I mention you get to watch? These people have skill. I wish someone would rake me with crepe batter the way they do...
I love this place. I originally found it through a classmate from my French class who worked here. We had a French "outing" to the creperie and I was hooked from that point.
Delicious! Every crepe I've tried has been heavenly, and I will return again and again. The one star off is for the distance from my house--it simply isn't close enough!
In addition, they also serve Mexican coke (in a glass bottle) I'll take high fructose corn-syrup-free coke any day!
Especially on Mondays when Saley is closed and I still have to get a crepe, I sometimes go to this crepe shop.
Someone has mentioned that their crepe is little dark and it is for me too...but it's ok. I still like it.
I usually get the cured ham one. it's good :) cheese and spinach...this can not go wrong....I don't think it can really.
Then I eat it in the Convention Center where it's warm and clean.
Best Crepes ever!! Great place to grab a quick bite before catching a show at Paramount or a movie at Regal cinemas.
