I love sweets so what better way to finish off dinner at Open Sesame with crepes at...wait for it...La Creperie Cafe!!!!!
Came in around 9pm on a Sunday night with place still full of people. Was seated promptly by the hostess with 5 of us. We ordered the following:
Romeo and Juliet
Nutella, fresh strawberries and bananas
and
Napoleon
Fresh local strawberries, vanilla creme brulée custard and a caramelized crust
Omg...they were both heavenly. You can see them make the crepes from the open kitchen which is always fun. And I LOVE the ambiance...very French Romanticism Era decor. It's a great place to hang out, drink some wine, dine, have dessert, etc. Plenty of space and I can only rate this off of their dessert as I have yet to have dinner here. -

SINFULLY DELICIOUS CREPES, Awesome Prices, Cool old French Ambiance, Good Service. What more could you ask for from a restaurant!
This is the perfect place to take your significant other for a birthday or valentines day celebration.
The Crepe Carbonara was scrumptious. We followed it with the Romeo and Juliet dessert crepe - TO DIE FOR!
Will definately be visiting this place again. -

This is a nice place. I came here because my french friend had suggested it. He used to work here and claims he invented the Southwestern crepe. So, I had to try it.
It's a savory crepe with scrambled eggs, avocado, green chilies, tomatoes, homemade salsa, mozzarella cheese, and sour cream. it's delicious! -

I gave this place another try because my first experience wasn't that great.
-Reasonable prices! This is definitely a plus.
-The garlic fries were addicting! I love the sauces that accompany it (ketchup, ranch, chipotle)
-The Al Mare was good, but the sauce was really thick that day. Nevertheless, it was full of shrimp and mushrooms!
-The Jambalaya was NOT tasty at all; the sauce was "marinara" instead of cajun. Definitely a disappointment.
-The Romeo & Juliet was good, but not great. Bananas were on one side while the strawberries were on the other- I guess that's why it's called Romeo & Juliet?
-We waited FOREVER for the check... I think they were understaffed that Sunday.
Anyways, I'll only come to eat the garlic fries and dessert crepes, but nothing else. -

I ate here for my birthday last night and it was yummy as usual. My ONLY slight criticism is that sometimes the chicken that is in the crepes is a little on the tough side....but it is still very good. I always order the Au Bon Curry Crepe because I love it and last night was no exception. I love the mango chutney they serve with it. My friends both loved their meals as well...chicken picatta and crepe Monsieur. The salads are delicious and the dessert crepes are yummy! I love this place and will definitely keep coming back!

DELISH! Came here for lunch and everyone loved what they ordered. We all had a savory crepe and boy were they freakin' savory! Their portions are definitely not very European. Each crepe is on the big side with lots and lots of cream. This place loves their cheese and cream...which I suppose is not such a bad thing. I ordered the Dipollo with no cheese and it was just fine.
This place is one of those places where you go back to try something different each time. -

I always wanted to check this place out and Wifey decided to surprise me for my birthday which was awesome by the way.
This place gets packed fast but we were seated pretty promptly after only about a 10 minute wait at the bar. Loved the live pianist and all the old French decorations, the murals and of course the vintage Metropolitan sign by the kitchen as well as the window showing the ladies making the fresh crepes in the back. Brought me back to our awesome trip to paris.
We started off the date w/ the calamari appetizer.
Then ordered the la mar for wifey and I ordered the chicken cordon blue for myself.
Wifey really enjoyed the seafood crepe and I really wanted to like it all but in my opinion ordering thre calamari and the cordon bleu was just too overwhelming w/all the deep fried texture goin on. But that was my own fault. No appetizer for me next time... I'll just get down to the main entree.
We ended the meal w/ the Romeo et Juliet dessert crepe. which was very nice.
Overall the experience was good.. The service was plenty attentive and prompt. I'll be back to try it all over again. Thanks le creperie!Listed in: Bomb spots

FINALLY got to try this place! Been wanting it since I first visited OC 4 years ago! Being the seafood lover that I am, I ordered the Al Mare and would have licked my plate clean if I could! Reasonable portion for the price, a lot more shrimp than I expected, I mean if you're gonna eat at a restaurant, you're for more than just the food! Sauce was delish, no complaints. Service gets an A for effort, didn't care, my dish was magnificent!
Fries were yummy, calamari was yummy, dessert crepe was yummy (strawberries and cream, I think), glass of Prosecco wine oh so refreshing! -

Stopped in with a friend for a sweet treat. I loved the interior of this space and the live jazz that played this Sunday night.
Bartender and restaurant manager were really nice and very talkative. My friend is a regular so we hung out at the bar and had great conversation there.
I had eaten prior to me going here so I ordered the Napoleon Crepe - a dessert crepe which was filled with custard cream and fresh strawberries. The outside was lightly dusted with powdered sugar and had a crunchy, crisp exterior like the top of a caramelized creme brulee. It was so delicious!
I also had their bubbly presseco and a brut from france - both dry and a little sweet the baby bottles were 8 bucks each.
My dessert crepe was $8 dollars and the serving size was fairly large. I loved the ambiance and the busy-ness of the place so I understand why its a staple in Belmont Shore - love it!! -

Food is ok. Service was great. Location was great. Cute outside eating area on 2nd Street. Good for people watching and enjoying the weather. Also great if you enjoy garlic french fries, but everything else was terribly under-seasoned. Won't go back. There are too many cute patios on 2nd Street.

It's been a while since my last visit but they do offer an tasty crepe. My husband and I had the fries here with aoli's which was pretty good as well, but skip other dishes and just save room for dessert instead!
This place is also a bit on the pricey side so I would suggest splitting appetizers and dessert as it's quite filling. -

I'm going to add to the love for La Creperie Cafe that seems to be so prominent. What better place to take the GF who has expressed her inclination for delicious crepes? I have been here years back and vaguely remember being impressed. Back then, I had no idea crepes could even be sufficient meals. How wrong I was.
Present day. The GF is celebrating a birthday. I take her to La Creperie for the beginning of a special night out. I order her a Monaco (a "parisian" cocktail consisting of lambic raspberry beer, grenadine syrup, and spirte). This drink is ultra delicious. Deceptively looks like a glass of beer, but weaker in the alcohol aspect.
Appetizer: Escargot. Skip it. I've had better escargot in other French establishments. I was anticipating the escargot to have strong cheese and garlic flavors, soaked in oil. However, what we got was a few measly pieces of snail swimming in a large basin of oil. The garlic was too subtle. No cheesy goodness to be found.
Entree: The GF and I shared a dipollo crepe. Definitely a winner! With fresh wild mushrooms, gooey melted mozzarella, juicy chicken, and the creamy sherry saw'ce, the dipollo was a tasty tasty treat. The herbs de provence really enhanced what was already a crepe with the perfect ingredients. A+!
Dessert: Good God. You must get the Napoleon. Are you a fan of strawberries and perhaps creme brulee? Don't be stupid. Of course you are. Get the napoleon. This sweet crepe has a carmelized crust with "creme brulee"-like vanilla custard, topped with fresh sliced strawberries. Upon first bite, the GF and I locked eyes and realized we had fallen in love.......with our dessert.
Service was excellent! Our server was very nice. Decor and ambience, very "bohemian" and dimly lit. I also spotted a wine bar. A live band also plays every night!! (?). Some jazzy tunes accompanied our pleasant dinner. A GREAT DATE SPOT. -

I still really like this place because it's puppy friendly, down the street from my favorite cupcake spot and they've always been so nice to us during our dining experiences. Just have to say though, I don't care too much for their breakfast crepes because they are so dry. How about adding some type of sauce to them? Stick to the regular crepes and you're good.

My friends took me here for my birthday. We sat outside, because it was too busy on the inside and we were hungry. This made service impossible to get. And it started to rain on-and-off during our meal too. The crepes are heavenly though. A friend and I shared the al mare and the curry chicken. Both were delicious, rich and creamy. My friend had one of her own and was sick of hers midway, so it might be better to share two with a friend. For dessert, we customized our own crepe with sauteed bananas, nutella, ice cream, whip cream and strawberries. YUM! It can be too sweet for some though, but I have a big sweet tooth.
I was disappointed due to the lack of birthday specials. -

(2nd Street Location) Service is horrible. I've gone here enough to say they treat customers differently based on race & age. Anywhoo.. they're lucky their good is amazing. The Al Mare is my definite favorite. Cabonara, dipollo, french rivera, salmon, anything with a cream sauce is mouth watering.
(Pine St - Downtown LB) Food is exactly the same. SERVICE IS MUCH BETTER! -

One of my favorite places for breakfast!! I LOVE La Creperie no matter what time of day, even though breakfast is my favorite! The Spa Vichey with the Spinach Feast (no mushrooms add bacon) Crepe is a wonderful start to my day and if its a day off, then the mango mimosa accompanies it terrifically! Thank you La Creperie for creating great food.

This is the hardest one star I've ever had to give.
I love this restaurant. My wife and I have been coming here off and on for years. See my earlier review. We've always said the food is great but the service is poor. Our experience yesterday morning sent us over the edge.
We arrived promptly at 10AM for breakfast with our 3 year old in tow. The restaurant was empty except for a handful of diners. As expected, the service was slow...we didn't see a server for several minutes despite the empty restaurant. We ordered a bottle of champagne that the server "upsold" us on as it was 50% off, we ordered a kids meal, and our breakfast.
Another couple with a 1 or 2 year old was seated next to us shortly after we arrived. They waited for about 15 minutes, and after no server acknowledged them, they understandably left.
Waiting for our food, I took my little boy to the bathroom. Now, I've been in the men's rooms of some seedy bars in my day, but never have I been so overwhelmed by the foul smell of a bathroom as I was yesterday morning. I held my breath, and took my little one to the urinal which looked like it hadn't been washed in several days...it was growing a beard and was beginning to resemble Fidel Castro. After we washed our hands, I checked the "bathroom log" on the back of the door. We were there the morning after Christmas, and no one had initialed the log since the morning of Christmas Eve.
We went back to our seat where my wife and our lukewarm bottle of champagne was waiting for us. Cheers!
When my son's ham, cheese and egg breakfast crepe arrived, they forgot to include ham. When I told the manager, he initially didn't believe that ham was supposed to be included in the crepe. I grabbed one of the menus from the vacated table next to us and showed him. He vowed to have it remade for us and to remove it from our check.
The corrected crepe arrived, we finished our meal, and then paid our bill...which included the cost of my son's meal.1 Previous Review: Show all »

feel like i've reached a statute of limitations or something... like i shouldn't be able to review this because it's been so long
still, i do remember i loved it. i remember loving what my boyfriend ordered, what his sister in law ordered, what his brother ordered, what his brother in law ordered, and what his mom ordered.
my point is, everything looked AMAZING.
to be fair, i only had the chance to try my own crepe, my boyfriend's crepe, and this dessert crepe that we all shared in the end.
another perk? this place is cute as shit. come here for a nice girly lunch after visiting powell's candy shop or something :) we came for my boyfriend's brother graduation lunch because i guess it was his favourite restaurant in the area :) -

Berkeley, CA
Came here with the best friend to see what all the hype was about. The wait wasn't so bad around 1 (they said 20-30 minutes) yet it ended up being more of a 15 minute wait.
We were able to snag an outdoor seating on a nice sunny & clear-skies kinda day so it was pretty nice. The hostess was very nice and so was our server. I do wish the service was quicker because it took a while for her to come to take our order (all is forgiven).
Food:
We had the French Riviera and Al Mare since we wanted to try out the savory crepes. The French Riviera was yummy and had plenty of tomatoes and artichokes. I love it when they're not stingy with the veggies since it balances out the richness of the cream sauce.
The Al Mare was just as great--the fresh shrimp really made the dish. The sauce for the Al Mare was a bit richer than the French Riviera since they had gone a bit more on the cream.
Both still great--would come back on a nice sunny afternoon for lunch and outdoor seating. I loved that it was a populated area yet we still were able to find parking in the smaller streets. -
Review from Bryan M.
Long Beach, CA
I notice reviews giving this restaurant "1-2 stars" because it's overcrowded, or there's a long wait. They have a great business model that seems to work for them. If people are unhappy with the wait, the restaurant would not be as busy as they are. But from the looks of it, there are more people who are willing to wait than people who aren't.
The seating is close together, but it obviously works for them, because they are always packed. If you don't like the long wait, go eat at McDonalds. A restaurant that busy, expect to get your meal 30 minutes after you order.
As for my experience, my girlfriend and I went there mid-week. Still fairly busy. It can get a bit loud, but just with the ambient noise of fellow patrons. We weren't sure what to expect as far as food portions go, so we ordered a calamari appetizer, and the jambalaya crepe (and a caesar salad).
Calamari - came with 3 different dipping sauces, a spicy thai, marinara and chipolte aioli. It was nice having different sauces. Not overcooked, and not fishy tasting at all.
Caesar Salad - not overdressed, and for being a person who doesn't eat salad too often, I would definitely order this side again.
Jambalaya Crepe - again, my girlfriend and I split it. It was gone within 2 minutes. And not because of a small portion, but because it was just that good. I literally would have licked the sauce off the plate if i could.
We will be coming back here to try out more varieties of crepes, perhaps for breakfast . I hope they do not disappoint on the second trip! -

Best dessert crepe in So Ca (IMO). They have a great selection. The food quality is superb and the service is great.
I came here with a friend before the rush, so there was no wait. However, I wouldn't mind waiting if I'm not incredibly famished. I recommend their creme brule crepe, with fresh strawberry slices! Yum! -

Los Angeles, CA
I absolutely LOVE this place!!! I came here with a friend and instantly fell in love. While parking can be a bit tricky around here (and metered), I've always been able to find something in front or just down the block.
Service:
- Excellent! Each time I have been, I am greeted by a warm face at the front and our waiter/ess has always been extremely helpful and friendly. One day we even forgot our takeout boxes after we left. We returned more than a few minutes later and the manager had held them aside for us
Prices:
- They are reasonable for the savory crepes since they are filled with so much yummy goodness. The dessert ones might be a little overpriced since they charge extra for extras.
- The most we paid was around $80 for 3 people but we split our dishes and ended up ordering 3 savory crepes, a dessert crepe, belgian waffles w/a side of bacon, hot chocolate and a mango bellini
Food:
- See comments on yummy goodness!!! We tried a couple of savory crepes, a dessert crepe and the Belgian waffles. We had the Crepe Carbonara and the Al Mare. OMG, the Carbonara was so delicious and filling! The entire crepe works between the cream sauce, the bacon, the chicken breast and the pesto aioli. It was perfection. The Al Mare (shrimp, sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms in a lobster cream sauce) was just okay. It was good as well, but hard to eat once I started on the Carbonara. We had some petite ones as well that were stuffed with lobster but I cannot recall the name. Those were delicious too but the sauce comes on the side which makes them a little less moist.
- For dessert crepes we had both the Prima Dona and the Romeo and Juliet. The PD feels a little overpriced since it is basically just Nutella in a crepe, but it is still tasty.
Decor:
- Very quaint and Bohemian. It has a nice, relaxed French vibe and the both the partons and the staff are just as chill.
I've gone on a Friday and Saturday morning and never had to wait. I can see how quickly they fill up though so I am not surprised by other reviews on waiting for a seat. -
Review from Steph J.
Orange, CA
Ambiance - cool/hip/different. We sat on the patio, not inside.
Service - slow but attentive, I think it is the kitchen that is slow
The Crepe itself - light, fluffy, and nice like a good crepe should be.
The savory fillings, sauces, and soups - gross.
I ordered the:
Mushroom Chicken Soup $.95
My soup was thick, for of a mushroom puree or fine fine chop... But, again, no flavor. None at all. I had to add a lot of salt to the soup to give it any kind of anything. Gross.
Dipollo $10.95
Fresh wild mushrooms, herbs de provence and mozzarella with your choice of chicken, ham or turkey in a sherry cream sauce. (I got chicken)
The chicken was dry, the sauce was watery and flavorless.. Another thing that bothered me was that the chicken was in HUGE pieces so I had to cut everything up, leaving a bad ratio of chicken:crepe. It was overstuffed, under seasoned, and boring.
The boyfriend:
Lobster Bisque $8.95
His soup was probably out of a can and they seemed to add skim milk or water to it. It had absolutely NO flavor, and NO lobster in it, and was SO watery! The definition of a "Bisque" is cream based soup, making it thicker. This was far from thick.
Crepe Monsieur $10.95
A Francophile favorite--Jambon de Paris and Emmenthal cheese embellished with a béchamel dipping sauce.
He wasn't too impressed, but ate most of his meal. He mentioned that there wasn't much flavor, and that the crepe was a little mushy.
I am really disappointed in this place... :( I wanted to like it, I wanted to love it. I loved the pictures, they all look so yummy. But they don't taste yummy. I may go back for the sweet dessert crepes, but thats all... Cant really mess up Nutella and strawberries. -
Review from Roland L.
Having dined at La Creperie Café more than a handful of times over the course of five years without a single disappointing incident was rather impressive....
Then came that fateful day when I discovered La Creperie's baguette tasted different and had different texture. What would cause such a drastic change? Apparently, they no longer bake baguettes in-house. (For the record, their in-house baguettes were amazing.) That wouldn't be enough to dissuade me from a return...
Finally, the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back.
While hoping to have a rather enjoyable dinner, my friend Thomas N, his gf, and I was greeted by a maître d' who seemed detached and barely cordial. Our server was friendly and rather energetic, but he seemed to suffer from ADHD and lacked attentiveness.
My original intent was to order a savory crepe, but when I noticed Croque Madame on the menu, I couldn't imagine passing on that dish. For starters, we shared Fried Calamari.
***BEGIN SIDEBAR***
Upon inquiring about croque madame, I requested eggs to be prepared sunny-side up, but I was rebuffed by the waiter as he stated the kitchen staff could not accommodate me. They could only poach the eggs. I should have ordered something else but I needed to try a poached egg version.
***END SIDEBAR***
Fried Calamari ($9.95): 4/5
http://www.yelp.com/bi...
Quite possibly one of the better versions of fried calamari I've had. La Creperie's calamari was reminiscent of Osteria La Buca's with similar traits of tasty thin tender rings and light crisp batter. However, they differ in the fact that La Creperie's was greasy.
Croque Madame ($11.95) : 1/5
http://www.yelp.com/bi...
http://www.yelp.com/bi...
So far, thee worst croque madame to date. La Creperie's croque suffered from bland poached egg layer on top of bland soggy tomato layer on top of horrid sour vinaigrette layer, on top of soggy bread...need I continue? Okay, well it really was disgusting. Béchamel sauce did no justice. The most pronounced flavor was the use of a sour vinaigrette just which was applied below the tomato. I cannot proceed describing this disastrous sandwich other than to say that it tasted and simulated consuming vomit.
Croque Madame is served with Spring Mix Salad and Pommes Frites. Have you ever had fries that were twice fried? La Creperie's frites were a chore to eat because they tasted stale.
Finally, I tried some of Thomas N's Al Mare Crepe and wasn't all that impressed.
In good conscience, I can no longer recommend dining at La Creperie Café nor do I perceive that I will return.Listed in: Croque Madame, S'il Vous Plait

La Creperie Cafe is an absolutely charming and delicious French cafe in the heart of Belmont Shores.
Favorite items? Croque monsieur (brunch/dinner) and Crepe Royale (dessert). There's nothing better than nutella and strawberries covered with a swirl of chocolate, surrounded by whipped cream, and complimented with ice cream.
I'm not a seafood eater, but my friends love getting the bucket of oysters to share. They also have a pretty decent bread basket (huge carb addict here).
Sit outside on the patio and people watch under the comfort of heat lamps, or sit inside and be serenaded by the pianist. Both are relaxing and fun experiences. -

Glendale, CA
This morning, I met a friend for brunch at the La Creperie Cafe. It's a little hard to find, tucked in a busy street and it only has metered street parking (two hour max), so allow extra time if you don't know where it is located.
This place is a huge visual overload when you walk in the door- chandeliers, a grand piano, plush couches, velvet drapes...I felt like I was in Vegas (but in a totally good way, like one of the nice hotels). It has a ton of character.
I ordered the Quiche Lorraine which was very good, but far from the best I have eaten. It was served with yummy garlic fries and a house salad that I enjoyed. My friend had a sweet crepe and ate the entire thing and enjoyed her meal. I also would like to note that the coffee was really good! Attentive service too.
I really enjoyed this place and would definitely go back! It would probably be a great date place for dinner. -

I ordered the Steak with Gorgonzola sauce. Who can mess up a steak? Big Mistake. The worst steak I have ever had. And I thought that they would be able to do a decent sauce. YUK!
Too much garlic on the veggies and the mashed potatoes tasted like they were from a box. This was my first bad meal on Pine St over the last 15 years. The waiter was handsome, but clueless. I went home and had a peanut butter sandwhich. -

I LOVE La Cerperie!! The decor inside is wonderful! Probably one of my favorites for any restaurant. The service is very good and last but not least, the FOOD! I wish I can remember the names of some of the crepes I've gotten here, but I can't. However, I have had like 5 or 6 different ones (both savory and sweet) and they've all been delicious! Make sure you get the garlic fries for an appetizer! I've also had a panini from them that was very good (they give you a lot of food in the panini combo for the small price you pay). The french onion soup is the best french onion soup I've ever had. In fact, just talking about it is making me want to drive down there to pick some up.....hmm decided plans for the day? I think so! :]
The ONLY thing that can get a little annoying is when it's very busy on like a Saturday night, they'll shove as many people into there as possible sit you awkwardly close to other people. -
Review from Peter P.
I love, love, love this place! It's great for a casual lunch or a semi-romantic dinner date. I have yet to try anything other than the savory crepes because they are so good I'm afraid to stray from them. But be forewarned, the cream sauces can very heavy. My favorites are the:
DIPOLLO
Fresh wild mushrooms, herbs de provence and mozzarella with your choice of chicken, ham or turkey in a sherry cream sauce. I prefer chicken.
CARBONARA
Chicken breast slices, mozzarella and smoked bacon in a creamy garlic parmesan sauce with pesto. Who doesn't love bacon?
If you prefer, you can substitute pasta instead of the crepe for an additional cost . You also can't go wrong with their garlic french fries. They are served with ketchup, chipotle aioli and ranch dressing.
Service has always been great. On Mondays and Tuesdays they do 1/2 off select wine. Our waiter suggested the the Fat Bastard which went really well with our crepes. It helps break down the richness of the sauce. No reservations so be prepared to wait on the weekends. -

Delicious! The food is pretty great.... I wouldn't say beyond amazing... but pretty close. I got the breakfast crepe with spinach, eggs, mushrooms and cheese. Yummy! The coffee is the typical crappy diner kind, but they have really good lattes (tad pricey but waaaay better than coffee!). The atmosphere is also really nice here and the waiters are all really nice. I would definitely come back many times! The reason for 4 instead of 5 is that I am beyond in love with Crepevine, which I believe is only in the Bay area. : ( Also, they put a tad too much garlic on the breakfast potatoes. Need to ask for sans garlic or just a sm amount.

MMMMMMMmmmmm delicious. Don't come for a light meal, because apparently "Bohemians" -ahem- don't eat vegan.
Got the Al Mare crepe - shear decadence: Jumbo shrimp, sun-dried and plum tomatoes, wild mushrooms, shallots and mozzarella cheese in a lobster basil cream sauce.
Decor is kindof kitschy but love all the wine-colored hues and the lighting is great. The trio they had playing was not obnoxious, and the servers were excellent. Will definitely be going back for dessert -
Review from Alex L.
Yum! The savory crepes are very good. I had the Parisian crepe which comes with chicken, spinach, and basil. Everything was cooked perfectly and was quite tasty. As required, I also had the garlic fries. At the end of your meal here you're gonna offend people with your garlic breath, for sure! There's a good wine list but their draft beers choices are minimal. But, this is not a brewery so who cares? I was too stuffed for their dessert crepes but I wish I had tried one of them. They look very good too.
The interior is nicely decorated and there's a big couch near the front next to a piano so there must be music on some nights? I'd recommend. -

Yelpers gave this 4 stars on average? Really? Are we slipping yelpers? Have we been eating so much food that our taste buds are falling off?
I'm not one to come on here with a chip on my shoulder and attack our local businesses for trying to do something positive. Therefore, let me start by saying what this place is doing really well.
First let me set the scene. (I wish I could review on-line dating sites, but yelp doesn't have a place for that... Anyway...). My partner in crime for a Saturday night outing in early November is a smart, handsome man who I met on Plenty of Fish nearly 2 years ago. We have become good friends, but are not a love match. Fail for POF. I guess I snuck this in didn't I? Haha!). Saturday night, La Creperie Cafe sat our party of two relatively quickly without a reservation. Yay - Plus one star! They had a great live jazz trio playing in the background - plus a 2nd star! The service was decent, reasonably attentive given the busy night, except for refilling my water glass - neutral. The desert crepe "Dulce de leche" with caramel filling and small scoop of vanilla ice cream was delicious - plus a 3rd star.
Now for the areas to improve:
The lobster bisque was a bit too bland, still edible, but I love my lobster. (Maybe I should just stop ordering lobster things on West Coast because it can't live up to east coast Maine lobster fresh out of the catch?). I'll give that a neutral.
The 2 crepes we ordered were both VERY bland (and yes, we choose together and share a bite of each because we are both foodies... thus the friendship). Crepe Au Homard (again w lobster) and Parisian - Chicken breast, fresh spinach, sweet red peppers and mozzarella in a basil & feta cream sauce. Sounds great right? No! Bland. I love food. I love bold flavors. Neither were anything I even wanted to finish, let alone take home left overs. I felt bad when the waiter asked how it was and I didn't have the heart to tell him I was disappointed after reading 4 star reviews on yelp). So, have to minus a star.
Yelpers, here is my plea... We all have different taste buds. Describe yours in your reviews. Because if you love subtle bland flavors, you might really enjoy this place. Not for me.
However, due to atmosphere, service, and dessert, I would go back for dessert.

I love this place and have been 2 birthdays in a row!
The food is excellent. Wine selection is nice. Decor is super cute. Service has always been on par. And they have live music! (Schedule is on their website.)
The only thing I don't care for at this place is how close the tables are to each other. Other than that, a great restaurant! -

First time going here and it was amazing. Good service great food and very cute atmosphere. A friend and I went here at a good time so it wasn't crowded at all. The Romeo and Juliet dessert must have. Over all had a great experience here.

Just got back from eating there. I have not been in awhile for dinner, usually go for breakfast. I ordered the vegetable soup. It looked great, had a lot of good stuff in it . . however it was sooooo salty and luke warm I could not eat it.
I found the hostess unfriendly and just tossed the silverware on the table in a rude manner. The piano music is so loud you had to practically yell to the person right across from you to talk. Not a place to go to relax or have conversation.
Won't be back . . . . .(at least for dinner) -
