I would highly recommend LA Color to anyone who is looking for professional photographer and videographer. Sam, Taky and their team are very professional. My wife and I used their service for both wedding and engagement session. We also used their photobooth and lighting services. Everything has turned out awesome.
My wife and I did not hire a wedding planner nor a wedding day of coordinator. But everything turned out great because LA Color team is very professional and they are very experience in this industry and they provided me a lot of good recommendation, for example, they will remind you on certain post or scene on what you should do so that they can take some good and important shoot or scene. There are many more recommendation that they have provided and it is just hard to describe them all here. They also helped me on other areas which is not their responsibilities while I was stressed out on other matter since we did not hire a wedding planner. In addition, I had made a lot of requests and their team is very patient and cooperates with our request patiently.
For the engagement session, which my wife and I took the pictures at Lagura Beach. The pictures has turned out fantastic even before the pictures were be re-touched. After the re-touch, nothing that I will need to say and you will know the answer. As for the wedding session, all the pictures has turned out to be wonderful . In addition to their focus shooting at the married couple or their friends and family, there are many professional shoots that at our wedding decoration from ceremony site to wedding banquet site or at the bride's accessories or dresses that I believe they looked very beautiful. My wife has been looking the pictures night in and night out and never get bored which I really want to start complaining to her.
For the video service, we have not received the product yet, but I am expecting a very professional and great product based on the comments that I read here. However, we have added the photo montage slideshow package, I would highly recommend you on this as it turned out fantastic. We have exchanged a lot of ideas with Taky and he was very patient and provided us a lot of recommendation. Our montage slideshow turned out wonderful and there are a lot of animations that I don't think I can able to produce it if I am making on my own. My original plan did not want to add that package just to save some money as I believe I can do it myself easily. However, after I looked at the final product, I believe that there are no ways that I can produce it, especially there is a lot of animation effect. Lastly, something turned out surprise me is that the looping slideshow included in that package, I was just giving a iphone effect idea and LA color helped me to make it an ipad idea that I have never thought of, plus the looping slideshow has include my wife name and my name at the bottom of the screen so that it become our backdrop to show it throughout the night at the wedding banquet. This is something that I have never thought of as well, which turned out very good.
For the photobooth service, their photobooth appearance and pictures are professional and we are highly recommend them because I have been to my friend's wedding and they are also paying the same price (which I believe is very standard out there), but their photobooth appearance and picture print out quality look very unprofessional (I would say they just put a few piece of wood and a video camera and then make it a booth). When I compared the photobooth picture that we took with LA color to my friend's vendor, LA Color's pictures are very beautiful, including the color and clarity.
Finally, for the lighting services, I did not have anything to worry as their lighting had made our wedding banquet become a very romantic event. I was very disappointment it rained on my wedding day so that we had to move the ceremony from outdoor to indoor. However, when the evening time come and the wedding banquet begin, when I walked into the ballroom, everything has been made up and I have never seen such a beautiful lighting effect that I would have seen before.
I will make a long story short here, I would highly recommend LA Color to anyone who is planning on their wedding. -

I highly recommend LA Color. My wife and I used their service for our wedding and engagement session. Sam and Taky were both professional and fun to work with. During photo shoot, I'm not very experienced in posing or being taken a picture, so Sam would recommend me ideas which helped me a lot and making the photoshoot more comfortable. Taky was great in video shooting during the wedding, he's creative and made the entire ambiance funner.
The editing, and end production was great too, we ordered both dvd and blu-ray and they came out better than we expected, having many features and bonus videos that we didn't talk about but came out great.
Long story short, LA Color was one part of the key point which made our wedding successful and we highly recommend them to anyone who is still looking and debating of choosing a photo studio for their special event. -

A few years back I was getting ready & planning out all them lil details to make our wedding perfect. A colleague of mine was telling me about an excellent photographer/videographer who did his wedding and put together an AWESOME animated video montage so he lent me his wedding DVD to check out. I was astounded at how flawless the music integrated w/ the story telling of the two lovebirds via pictures floating over their bobbleheads as clouds; depicting the memories of how they met.
I tried right away to contact Taky to book him for my wedding (this is 2 months prior) but sadly he was already taken for my special day. I opted to hire another videographer and specified for him to get as much video footage as possible since I wanted Taky to do the editing for me. My jaw dropped when I discovered that horrid videographer only captured a little over 2 hrs for a full day's wedding.
After giving Taky the few tapes collected, I was VERY VERY VERY thrilled when i saw the final results; esp w/ what little footage Taky had to work off of. I was just sad I couldn't book Taky in time for the job otherwise I know it would've been waaaay better! Thx again Taky - i watch it from time to time to bring back them memories HEHE :)
I've recommended Taky to numerous friends. Since he wasn't a part of my wedding I had never seen him in action but OMG when he filmed one of our closest friends' wedding - I loved the detail-orientation that went into it. Some videographers run around just filming the event - he was interacting w/ guests throughout the day to capture warm wishes that go into life-long memories for the happy bride/groom. -

Sam and Taky are definitely an A+ team. We were very happy to have them take pictures and video of our wedding. They are awesome to work with. Being Chinese American, I wanted a team that would be modern yet catch all of the traditional moments that are important in a Chinese ceremony. I felt like we had the best of both worlds.
Sam also did our engagement pictures and they looked awesome. Everyone loved the two canvases we had at the wedding ceremony and reception. Sam was very flexible and even went to Disneyland with us to take our engagement pictures. He made us feel very comfortable and it felt like we were with a friend.
For our wedding, LA Color was very prepared for the long day. They got to my house at 9am and they didnt leave till the very end. Even though the hours were long, they managed to keep smiles on their faces. My family members were very happy with them. Everyone thought it was cool that Taky came up to people randomly and asked them to do mini interviews for the bride and groom. I cannot wait to see pictures and videos from our wedding!!! -

LA Color is the complete package. We hired Taky and Sam for our wedding last year and they worked so well together. Our wedding day flowed smoothly and we couldn't have asked for a better crew. The pictures and video are beautiful. We especially love the bloopers section on the DVD. We also purchased the lighting and photo booth from them as well. I highly recommend them.

LA Color was a fantastic vendor to work with. We hired Taky to video capture our wedding and he was a pleasure to work with from the day we hired him to the day we received our wedding videos. He was a ball full of energy and kept me in high spirits throughout the wedding planning process. He always had a quick turnaround and was always offering to help with anything that would help make the day of run smoothly. He went above and beyond what we had hired him to do and my husband and I were so appreciative of that. We also rented lighting equipment through LA Color and were happy with how the lighting came out at our reception venue. I highly recommend this vendor for your special occasion!

When my husband and I got married, we decided that the one thing we would not skimp on was the pictures and video. I found LA Color through Yelp, and with all my research, settled on them.
The biggest reason was that we were having a mixed wedding -- Chinese in the morning and American in the afternoon with a Chinese reception -- so I really wanted someone that knew etiquette for everything.
I e-mailed them, and it seems that Taky is a night owl like I am. With very quick e-mails replies, we ended up on the phone at something like 11pm discussing pricing and how I could visit on my next trip down from WA to Cali (the wedding was in Cali). That left me with an incredibly good first impression. Taky was very easy to talk to, extremely friendly, and it definitely sounded like he would value my business. He also talked to me about hiring Sam, who's the photography half of LA Color, and the way he spoke showed a great respect for his partner.
In the days leading up to the wedding, Taky checked in with me a few times to make sure he knew exactly what was going on at what time and where. He didn't just ask when to show up. He wanted the entire schedule of the day.
On the day, Taky and Sam arrived right on time with their crews. Because my honey didn't know anything about Chinese customs (he's half white, half Japanese), Taky and Sam gave him tips and instructions so he wasn't completely lost. So helpful!
Throughout the day, I got many compliments on them from my family and friends. Everyone just loved them!
On top of great personalities and wonderful professionalism, Taky and Sam and their crews definitely know what they're doing! The photos and video turned out AMAZING!! They spent the time to work with me on proofs and choosing songs for the video. Their communication is wonderful. I felt well taken care from months before the wedding right up to after I received the albums and DVDs in the mail.
Comparatively, they might be considered a little pricey, but it is SO worth it! If you want the memories of your event very well taken care of, LA Color is the way to go, hands down. If I could give more stars, I would. I'm already talking to them about flying up to WA for our 5-year anniversary. I wouldn't want anyone else. -

just noticed these reviews on la color on yelp, so just wanted to add my two sense as well. Taky was our videographer four years ago for our wedding. He was great and fun to work with from beginning to end. Not only was he a hardworking professional, he was like a close friend during our special day, giving us a dozen tips and suggestions. He provided our video on time as promised and the video itself was of good quality and fun to watch! Highly recommend Taky!

A good friend of mine recommended Taky for my wedding. We're glad we hired Taky as our videographer! My wife and I were extremely pleased with his overall professionalism, service, and his great sense of humor with our guests. Taky interacted very well with our family and guests. He made them feel comfortable and got them involved but didn't over do it. Many of our guests provided compliments for Taky!
Taky and his crew were very flexible in working with us during the day of our wedding. They really took care of "business." The DVD's that he were exceptional. He really captured all the precious moments of our wedding.
We also hired Sam as our photographer who works at the same company with Taky. We were also very pleased with Sam as he interacted well with the guests, was very professional, and worked well with his whole crew.
I highly recommend Taky and Sam of LA Color because they really make your wedding that much better. -

Sam form LA color did our wedding back in April.
We picked LA color based on the recommendation from one of our friend. After looking at the albums, we were very impressed and decided to go with LA color for our wedding.
Through out the planning phase and the wedding day, Sam has been very helpful. He is very professional and we loved the pictures that he took.
I would definitely recommend them to all of my friends. -

I knew Taky from my sister wedding. He was very funny and energetic. I had proposed to my girlfriend then prior to my sister's wedding and I knew that I had to use Taky for my videographer.
For my wedding, Taky was both energetic and fun around my guests. He impressed some of my friends that 3 of my friends ended up hiring Taky for their own wedding.

At our wedding, we had the video service, lighting and photo booth from LA Color Production. I have to say that the chemistry of these services was one of the major elements which made our wedding a big success.
The lighting really sets the tone in ballroom. I also love the change of lighting color on the walls which created different mood.
OMG, that photo booth was a big hit. The line at the photo booth was actually longer than the line of our guests who wants to take pix with us. Those props are so popular and everyone put on a wig or a gigantic hat, etc. Our guests who range from 3 years old to 70some enjoyed the booth without a doubt.
Last but not least, Taky and his video crew were amazing. Taky was not only a talented videographer; he was also great in creating the atmosphere at our wedding which made our guests laugh.
Our wedding DVD proves that Taky has tremendous passion towards his work. He puts a lot of thoughts in our video which captures all the precious moments. He also combines those trivia clips that gave us some good laughs and sweet memories.

When I started looking for a videographer for my wedding I compared Taky to many others in the business and his price and quality was unbeatable. taky was the videographer at 2 of my friends' wedding and i heard nothing but wonderful praises about him. when my fiancé finally met him, he knew right away that we wanted taky to be our videographer - we love his energetic, outgoing, friendly personality. ( : of course we love the work done by la color also. : P
we saw taky again a few months after our wedding, he was the videographer for my sister in law's henna party. all the guests, young and old, loved taky.

Taky could not possibly have been more professional, accommodating and beyond what we asked for of him. We hired him to film our son's kindergarten graduation from a special needs school, and had some restrictions for him because the children were very sensitive to cameras, lights, and unfamiliar people. He was nothing but completely understanding to our requests and needs. We have seen the raw footage and it is excellent. We asked that he stay planted in the back of the room so he came prepared with long lenses, with two cameras for our small event. We factored in time for him to set up more than 30 before the ceremony was to start, and he still came earlier than we asked to set-up! And the day after the event, he gifted us a small video clip of our son speaking at the graduation with footage from the day. Could not possibly refer him with more confidence!

I found Taky on Yelp, after reading some good reviews and talking to him on the phone, I decided to hire him as my wedding photographer.
He drove all the way from LA to San Diego at no extra cost, and his price is a lot more attractive than most other photographers. On the day of the wedding, he arrived promptly and stayed from my makeup session to the end of the last dance.
He is such a fun guy and the guests loved him, he had a way of finding the outgoing guests and made them do or say funny things. The wedding video came out beautiful, he captured all the memorable moments and expressions, and the blooper section was hilarious! Love the video, thanks Taky! : ) -

I used Taky from LA Color as our wedding videographer. We know some people think that photographer is enough for wedding. A videographer is not necessary, but it was to me. My grandma lives in Indonesia, and she was too old to travel to attend the wedding. I need something professionally done so that she can watch our wedding. Later on, my husband's grandparents had to leave early as well because husband's grandma was feeling sick, so we were glad that they would be able to catch the rest of the day on the DVD.
And we totally made the right decision! During the wedding day, Taky and his assistant were professional, friendly, and very interactive with the guests. He has a lot of experience especially with Chinese style wedding (tea ceremony and Chinese banquet). He gives suggestions through out the wedding day to make the video more memorable. But he's not only good in Chinese wedding, my wedding ceremony is actually a Catholic mass in a church in Pasadena. He moves around the church very respectfully, and we didn't even notice he was there.
This weekend, we just received our wedding video. That was what made me write this review. The video was great!!! We popped it in the DVD player and watched the whole thing again! There were so many things going on that we missed during the wedding day. He interviewed a LOT of guests to give their messages to us. Besides the wedding itself, he also created extra features such as bloopers, dedications, photo sessions, etc etc. It was almost like watching a movie...!! We were laughing soo hard watching the reception because everyone was just drunk and having a great time.... Another great feature was that he made an option so that the DVD can be easily translated into three different language with a touch of a button (Indonesian, Chinese, and English). How awesome is THAT...!!! Before he finalized the DVD he gave me a sheet of paper to translate so that he can add all the Indonesian into the DVD.
I am very happy with Taky. He has great personality and talent. I highly recommend him for anybody. In fact, my brother is getting married this year, and he's using Taky for his wedding... =)Listed in: Wedding Vendors

Great videographer! I absolutely love his work. Very humorous and made a usually quite boring wedding video fun to watch. I especially love the bloopers and dedication sections. Great music as well.
