Not bad for a Salvadorean/Mexican restaurant without driving to Arlington. The atmosphere seemed like a cool hangout if you're into the Latin food and Karaoke (Saturday night). The waitress was very nice.
We ordered take out:
Pupusa Revuelta - Pretty good... the cabbage and salsa had lots of flavor
Wings - eh... wasn't impressed
Bistec entomatado - Yummy! The steak was soft and tender and the sauce was a perfect saucy consistency
Lomo Saltado - Delicious! One of my favorite dishes... although they could've added a little bit more steak than fries and a little bit more sauce.
I'd go back again when we are in a Latin mood. Prices for dinner weren't so bad either. -

Do even think about it. We had been coming to this place for years, but it's all changed. This place used to be packed and it was good. The last time that we recently went there they screwed up our order big time. Their burnt chips and salsa were alful. They don't look you in the eye when you're trying to converse with the staff and the place is really dirty. This place must have changed hands. I should have known that something was up when there were just a few people in there at 12:30pm.
The service is the pitts. It's my prediction that they won't be around for long at this point. -

As you all know I like to keep reviews simple and right to the point.
Yikes, This place feels as if something is not right.
Bad vibe...Bad Feng Shui... Not so great food -

Excellent deep fried beef and chicken empanadas, Paraguayan-style. The waitstaff is also very ... attractive.
Have heard reports that they allow karaoke on certain evenings -- this has not been confirmed. -

2.5 stars-- a precisely so-so dinner
La Choza is under new management. I got to hear all about this as their staff beautifully dealt with an unpleasant couple demanding to know why they wouldn't honor old coupons. The new management seems to have several issues including no liquor license, and myriad spelling errors on their menus.
Everything was OK. The food a bit below average, the service a bit above.
It wasn't a bad experience, but we also see no reason to return. So-so. -

Two Words: God. Awful.
The food tastes like it is fresh from the can, the air was heavy with cigarette smoke and everything, everything tasted like onions. Not the good kind of onions, either.
The "guacamole" was a powder mixed in with sour cream -- and lots of onions. How do I know this? Ours wasn't mixed very well. -

Don't bother. It was awful. I used to eat there once a week before it switched management I will never waste my money there again.

Come here for a Mexican beer, futbol and deer antlers on the wall - not the food.

Obviously only based on one visit, but my experience here did not seem to match that of others.
We were cruising around in the rain after 10pm looking for anything that might be open that wasn't fast food and stumbled on this place. It was pretty empty except for the staff and a couple of others; we were certainly the only people speaking English in the place. The waitress was extremely friendly and nice, maybe because we addressed her in Spanish (though her English was good.) Apparently she made the couple of margaritas my girlfriend had, and those were pretty decent.
Other reviewer pretty much hit the mark:

We had some cheese papusas which were pretty tasty, and I had a carnitas dish (sorry forget the name of it) that was very tasty, which quite frankly surprised me being that it was like 10:30 pm. Girlfriend had steak fajitas. Both came with again surprisingly fresh tortillas, and also black beans and white rice. Overall seemed very fresh.
So take it FWIW, since it was a late night surprise stop, but I would definitely return to this place to see if there is a reason why it has poor reviews. -

We asked for water and got 2 bottles of Deer Park brand water. They charged us $3.50 per water. My girlfriend ordered the lamb, which came to her hot. I ordered the baked pork, but that came to me barely warm. Food is ok, not great. Also, pay in cash or make sure to scribble out your credit or debit card account number on your receipt. The full number was on my receipt.

Some of the best rotisserie chicken you can find in the DC area. When you order the chicken get the meal (comes with rice and black beans). Also ask for the green sauce, it's amazing! Get it while it lasts, they are usually out by 7-730pm, and you must resort to the rest of their mediocre menu.

Ordered a Burrito. Took forever and it was terrible.
