Friday eve, arrive 5:30pm - their parking lot is nearly full.  Surprising, especially for a place whose free apps and house margaritas are just 'o.k.'
Tonight for me it was dinner.  Shared a chicken fajitas plate and it was 'alright'.  The house margarita was $1 off regular price.
Our server, Cesar, was pleasant and attentive without overdoing it.
On our way out, we noticed that all those beautiful plants are REAL!
That's a nice touch.

I've been to LaCasita probably 40-50 times.  For weekday lunches and suppers.  I have never had a bad experience with the food or the wait staff.
I love the Pollo Fondito its fantastic!!!  I've ordered just about everything on the menu and I can't say anything bad about any of it.
They also have huge mixed drinks that are not real expensive!

Four of us stopped for an early dinner before a hockey game on a Friday night.  It was snowing out so they were pretty dead.  Our waiter was nice but said he had been working all day and he seemed really tired and somewhat confused.  He got our orders correct and we didn't have to wait long for refills so I guess that's what counts.

As far as the food...I wasn't really a huge fan of the chips and salsa.  The salsa was really mild like Jason K. said...I think it was actually more sweet than spicy.  It was nice that we each got our own little dish for the salsa and they did bring us a second basket of chips.  I ordered the arroz con pollo, which was a special that they're thinking of adding on to their regular menu.  It was pretty good and done a bit differently than any other Mexican restaurant.  Instead of the typical onions, mushrooms, etc they used zucchini and squash.  It worked out really well with the dish.  The other folks at the table ordered some burritos/chimichangas which were HUGE!  I snuck a bite of my boyfriend's beef chimichanga and while it was good, it wasn't the best I'd ever had.

Solid three star Mexican if you're in the area.

My wife and I were headed up to Roseville for a chore and looked in the Entertainment Book for a coupon for a restaurant around where we were going.  We were in luck, La Casita had a coupon for a 2 for 1 up to 8 dollars off.

We got there about 12:30 on a Sunday and it wasn't busy at all.  I did notice the great TV screens in the bar and I noticed on a trip by the bar that they had free chips and salsa out for people to snack on while watching the football games.

I ordered the Cancun which was a burrito filled with crab meat and small shrimps with a seafood white sauce on it and refried beans and rice for sides with a Diet Coke.

While we waited for our food we were brought a basket of chips and salsa.  The salsa was WAY mild for my taste, but my wife liked it.  She said she saw some hot stuff in the bar, so I'll ask for that next time.

I have to say the food came out nice and hot and the refried beans and rice were fantastic.  The Cancun burrito was your basic seafood burrito, but I could only finish half of it before I was full.  Not to say it was bad, but it was just fine, I think every seafood burrito is very similar.  I would have liked to have a bottle of hot sauce on the table to heat it up a little, like the Cholulu Sauce at Don Pablo's.

My wife ordered the chicken soft tacos and I tried a bite of those and they were fantastic.  The chicken was just crispy enough on the outside and juicy in the middle.  Perfect sized portions with fresh cilantro everywhere and the bean stew she had on the side seemed to have little chuncks of bacon in it, which was a nice touch.

The service was more than fantastic, we had our cokes filled up before we were finished with them and our salsa was filled up as soon as it was finished.  Very polite wait staff and we were happy with wait times for the food.

A cool aside, there was a Mexican group next to us that seemed to have their own waiter that spoke Spanish, which was kind of cool.  I noticed they had ordered all those unique sodas I have seen in Mexico that you never see here, like lime flavored and orange with way more food coloring than what seems natural, so they must have thought it was authentic enough for what seemed like a family gathering.

Another comment I heard from our waitress to another group across the room, "When you have a dining experience, you deserve to have your every want and need fulfilled."  I told you she was an awesome waitress!

My wife and I both said we will visit in the future with our 2010 Entertainment coupon.

I've been meeting friends at this location for the past couple of years and have always had a good experience.  We go for the margaritas, great chips & salsa and the #8.

One of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Minnesota.  Haven't found anything close to take away the title.

Um, no.

I've been here twice and have reached my limit.  Apparently restaurants are not like baseball because they can strike out on two.

The first time was on a weekend night so they were slammed.  Our server was fast and friendly.  Food was hot and fresh and it was decent.  I was ready to give them three stars, maybe four, because the margaritas weren't too shabby.  But then my husband got sick a couple hours after eating there.  I didn't and we'd shared plates so I don't think it was related and have been curious to go again and see what second impressions were like.  He's been understandably reluctant to return for fear of having a Pavlovian response, so when my friend from college was in town the week before my wedding, she and I decided to stop by for dinner.

It was majorly disappointing.

It was the middle of the week and dead.  The food was bland and had obviously been prepared before we'd even set foot in the restaurant and had just been languishing under a heat lamp in the back somewhere.  The tortilla in my enchiladas was crunchy in the I've-been-sitting-on-the-counter-too-long kind of way and the refried beans had developed a strange crust on the outer ring.

Ew.
