I love the empanadas here (especially the potato empanadas). You can eat a fairly good sized lunch (two empanadas and a drink) for $3.50.
They also have some great South American pastries that are very decently priced.
This is a good place to stop for a quick lunch while biking or walking around Astoria.
I was happily surprised to find this place. It has some of the best coffee i've found yet. I'll have to come here for food some time when i'm not sprinting to the subway.
I cheated on my vegetarianism to have chicken empanadas here to fortify me for the nearbybatting cages. Hot sauce is key, but they are tasty and cheap. My friends raved about the potatoes and the bacon. That bacon scared me. For meat eaters, this should be a ringing endorsement. Nice selection of sodas, too.
