The guys working here are great.  The bagels are good. They do not skimp on the cream cheese or the lox.  It is nice to know there is a bagel shop in DUMBO, the only one I believe.

Oh yeah, the Everything has just the right amount of salt and you can also get a Whole Wheat Everything.

Will someone please tell me in what world  it makes sense to have a bagel shop whose name implies some sort of Western European flair?  "La" plus "Bagel" just makes no sense to me at all.    

The bagels at LBD, while not bad, are certainly not delightful.  Too big and puffy.  And it is also not delightful to walk into LBD on a Sunday to find that they have only 3 kinds of bagels left.  There aren't even that many people who live in DUMBO, how does this store manage to run out of bagels? To be fair, the whole-wheat everything bagels we were forced to purchase (yes, forced!!!!!) were in fact quite tasty, but I really wanted a sesame to put my cream cheese and strawberry jam on, and I really have to draw a line at jam + onions.  DEFINITELY not delightful.

What I would call delightful, however, is LBD's lox.  Extremely fresh and buttery, and for $25/lb, it had freaking better be.
