Just went to their open house yesterday and met a great many wonderful people. But what I really wanted to write this review about was the energy in this place. Most of the time I was there I had this urge to sit in the waiting room space and meditate. Not a reaction I often have to waiting rooms!
The center is laid out well, one long hallway to get to any of the rooms. Lots of choices for who you'd like to see and what you'd like to work on. Great people! Shannon Conrad L.Ac. is the reason I went in (my acupuncturist) but I feel I may get myself acquainted with the other people in the office as well.
More than a year ago, I began experiencing strange symptoms for which Western doctors had no answers. I cannot possibly explain the amount of pain and frustration I've experienced. While some of my Western doctors were nice people they didn't have the idea what is the cause of my symptoms nor knew how to treat it. I finally found a nice doctor enough to refer me for acupuncture. After a thorough research, I found Dr. Chen. When I came to her I had little hope having been used to my then every day reality of discomfort and pain. She listened carefully with great attention to every detail, but most of all when I left the clinic I could see and feel the sense of hope! Her knowledge and gentle personality make her a powerful healer. As I continue with treatments and herbal therapy my symptoms have begun to change. I am able to do my work and function, and feel an enormous appreciation for both: the Chinese medicine and doctors such as Dr. Chen. If your condition is difficult and requires an expert, do not hesitate to see Dr. Chen at Kwan Yin Healing Arts Center in Portland.

Kwan Yin Healing Arts Center is absolutely amazing! I go once a week. My practitioner is Jenny Netzer, MSO, L.Ac. and she is wonderful! She focuses on Acupuncture, Herbs, Crystal Healing, and Qigong. Beyond her techniques she is such a nice person and a great listener.
All of the other practitioners I hear are also great. The center offers many different types of services. I had never done acupuncture before I met Jenny and my experience has been very empowering. I have so much more positive energy readily available on the days I see her and the treatments are really starting to open my life.
If you are curious I encourage you to try it!
The practitioners here are amazing! I've seen Ilana Gurevich NC, LAc, David Berkshire, LAc, and Kristin Rabbi, DC and can say the same about all of them: they listen with compassion, have excellent skills and bedside manner, and a deep knowledge of medicine from the conventional to more subtle energetic approaches. I always leave Kwan-Yin feeling more relaxed, energized, and positive about life.
I have been getting acupuncture treatments here since November 2008 and have had nothing but wonderful experiences. My top 5 reasons why I continue to get treatments here: (1) Jenny Netzer, L.Ac. She's a great listener, empathetic, thoughtful, patient and always does a thorough pulse read before every treatment. I've also seen Dr. Xiaoli Chen, Ph.D. who is amazing. (2) The rooms are quiet and warm. (3) Kwan Yin provides Chinese herbs (through your practitioner). Herbs are a great compliment to acupuncture. I've been taking some for my allergies and they're working great. (4) Relaxing environment (5) They accept my health insurance! If you're a first-timer to acupuncture or have been getting it your whole life (like me) give Kwan Yin a call. I think it's an incredible organization filled with very passionate and knowledgeable people: http://www.kwanyinheal...
I can't say enough great things about this clinic. My daughter was the reason I began going. She's been lucky enough to work with David and Muir. A fantastic pair, for sure. I see Daniel and he is equally as awesome. Every time I enter the reception staff is smiling and quick with a greeting. The new office is beautifully decorated and quite cozy. I've never not been greeted by each person there. I feel so comfortable and cared for. It's truly a wonderful place for healing!
Dr. Gurevich is a very gifted practitioner!!! I see her for both naturopathic medicine and Chinese medicine, and every time I leave the clinic I feel peacefully energized. She is a brilliant listener with excellent clinical skills, and I highly recommend her as a doctor.
